The question she just asked cut deep into my heart like a blade. My heart sank and weakened.

I never allowed the smile I wore to fade away completely. She pulled back, still staring at Martha, the unfamiliar face I came with.

“I'm so sorry, Lizzy,” I let out warmly. “Like I said, I'm back home. We will discuss everything. I needed to go and bathe because the journey was long and stressful.” I purred.

“Welcome back,” she let out. Before I could realize it, her arms were already wrapped across my back. As soon as she pulled her body backwards, she held my bag and took it inside, then I dragged Martha inside and shut the door behind.

I went straight and bathed Martha, who quickly climbed into bed and fell asleep. Due to exhaustion.

When I finished taking my bath, I dialed Jack's number. To inform him that we have arrived safely. He was so excited to learn about it. I also called Janet, my exceptional neighbor, to inform her.
