Chapter 3

ผู้เขียน: Eirlys
"It's Anna! What is she doing here? Isn't she afraid the Alpha will get mad and lock her in the isolation ward again?"

"If she were smart, she'd stay out of sight. At least then the Alpha and Jace might show her some mercy..."

The pack elders whispered, looking at me with pity and mockery.

Before Alaric could speak, Wyatt frowned and said coldly, "Anna, why aren't you going crazy in your hospital room? What are you doing here?"

He glanced at the blood on me, his face turning dark.

"And what's with the fake blood? Who are you trying to scare? You really are insane!"

I narrowed my eyes and recognized him.

Anna's mate.

He looked exactly like his father.

Back then, his dad was a drunk, and he was just a struggling werewolf in the slums without a decent shirt to his name.

When he got hit by a car and broke his legs, Anna was the one who found him and kindly took him to the hospital so he wouldn't end up crippled.

I still remembered a young Wyatt kneeling solemnly in front of me, raising three fingers to swear an oath.

"Don't worry, Luna. If I ever betray Anna, may lightning strike me down! May my soul never find peace!"

I believed him.

So, I gave him the chance to be Anna's mate and made him a Gamma warrior.

But in just ten years, the man who promised to protect Anna forever couldn't even tell the difference between me and the woman who bore his pups.

How pathetic.

Before I could speak, Stella started crying.

She choked out, "I know Anna hates me. Let's just forget it... I'm just an orphan. I'm lucky enough that the Alpha brought me to the estate. I don't deserve to be the eldest daughter."

"It's only natural that sister Anna is upset."

Hearing this, Wyatt's face darkened.

He wrapped an arm around Stella's shoulder, glaring at me with pure annoyance.

"Stella barely escaped those rogues. Can you stop making things hard for her?"

"Think about how you lived in the estate while Stella was suffering out there!"

"She got kidnapped by rogues because of you. It's just a title. You owe her this!"

How did Anna live?

I had just heard the guests whispering.

Four years ago, Stella and Anna were kidnapped together.

The kidnappers said they wanted the Alpha's daughter.

The Magus threatened to kill himself to stop Alaric from trading Anna for Stella.

But because of that, Anna was thrown into the isolation ward.

They said since Stella was suffering, Anna didn't deserve to be happy.

So she was locked in a dark room for twelve hours a day, given only one piece of dry bread. She was so hungry she chewed her nails to the quick.

She lived worse than the lowest Omega in the pack.

She finally made it to the bonding ceremony I arranged for her, and she and Wyatt had a somewhat sweet time.

But right after she got pregnant, Stella came back.

Stella shed a few tears, and Wyatt handed over the pup Anna had risked her life to deliver.

No matter how much she cried and begged, no one cared.

From that day on, Anna's mind started to slip.

Hearing all this, my heart bled.

I couldn't imagine how much pain my daughter had been in.

Seeing me stay quiet, Wyatt thought I felt guilty.

"Apologize to Stella right now and get out. I might forgive you this once for the sake of our bond. Otherwise, I'll ask the elders to force a rejection. Who else would want you but me?"

He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "If that happens, you won't even have the right to visit your mother's grave."

I looked up at him.

He really was her mate—he knew exactly what Anna feared most.

Too bad.

I calmly drove the silver dagger into Wyatt's stomach and said lightly, "Anna doesn't need to visit me anymore. From now on, I'll be the one visiting her grave."

"But before that, I need to send you all to hell to keep her company."

  • They Killed My Daughter. I’ll Kill Their Pack   Chapter 11

"No!""Don't!""Let go of the core!""Maeve, I'm begging you, let it go! Don't touch it!"No matter how much Alaric and the Magus begged, I reached out, grabbed the blue orb of light, and crushed it piece by piece. As the last bit of blue faded, I looked at their despairing faces and chuckled. "I've wanted to do this for a while. If I just walked away, the core would still be here, and your pack would survive for decades.""But why should that happen? Why should you get to stay on your high horse as Alpha after killing my daughter and slaughtering my people?""I want you to watch your pack burn. I want you to become a stray dog!"Alaric roared:"Maeve, don't forget Jace is your son too! If I become a stray, he goes down with me! He'll die with the pack..."I cut him off calmly."Then let him die. That's his fate. The moment he found out Stella was your bastard daughter and still chose to stand with you and hurt Anna, he stopped being my son."Alaric choked. He didn't expect me to be so

It had only been half a day, but re-entering the Sanctuary felt like a lifetime had passed. The Magus somehow managed to open a narrow passage through the collapsed rubble. After a few steps, it opened up again.I looked at Alaric walking beside me and said flatly, "Aren't you afraid I'll just kill you? You know I can."Alaric smiled confidently."If you wanted to kill me, you would have done it already. Maeve, we've been mates for years. I know you as well as I know myself."I didn't say anything. I stopped next to Anna's body. She lay quietly in the center of the magic circle, looking like she was asleep.Seeing her, Alaric actually looked a bit sad.He stayed quiet for a long time, then sighed."I wasn't a good father. I thought Stella and Anna were just playing silly girls' games. I never thought she'd go this far.""Maeve, I really know I was wrong. When this is all over, let's have another daughter. I promise I'll treat her like a princess."What a hypocritical, sickening speech.

"Maeve, the culprit is dead. Now we can talk."Alaric waved his hand like he had just squashed a bug. You couldn't even tell he had just killed the daughter he treasured fifteen minutes ago.I never knew he was so good at changing faces."Talk about what? Do you think I don't know you all enabled Stella?"I sneered.Alaric admitted it without hesitation."It's my fault. I apologize. I'll strip Wyatt of everything and kick him out of the pack. As for our son, you can punish him however you want. Maeve, is that enough?"I shook my head, my voice dripping with deadly intent."Not enough."Alaric froze for a second, then actually laughed."Then what do you want?""Stop messing around! Do you want Jace and me to pay with our lives?"Jace looked at me nervously, panic in his eyes."Mom, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. Please forgive me this once. I really didn't mean to. If I knew Stella was going to kill Anna, I..."He slapped his own face as he spoke, soon breaking down in tears. But I knew

Alaric's smile froze. He looked at the battered Magus, then at me.He finally realized that from the very beginning, I hadn't shown a single ounce of fear.Feeling Alaric's stare, I casually dug the silver dart out of my right shoulder and said calmly, "Still want to shoot, Alaric?"The wound on my shoulder, which had been bleeding heavily, healed visibly in a flash of golden light, as if I had never been hurt. The hall was dead silent. The only sound was the bloody dart hitting the floor as I tossed it away. And my footsteps as I walked forward. As I moved, the guns tracked me, but no one dared to pull the trigger."Stop! Stop right there!"A massive, invisible pressure almost crushed Alaric. He stood up, his smug face completely wiped of any smile. He stared at me and growled, "Maeve, it really is you! Where's Anna? I underestimated that stupid girl. She actually went to the Sanctuary to find..."I cut him off sharply, speaking softly. "Anna is dead. She never knew I was alive, nor d

Alaric threw his head back and laughed."Just set a few fires, caused a few explosions, that's all.""Your family's power is too unpredictable. I couldn't let other packs get their hands on that treasure.""So, destroying it was the best option."I suddenly found it hard to breathe."Why... why?""How could you do that?! My people were innocent!"He said it like it was obvious. "Since your mother already stabilized the core and secured the Red Moon Pack's future for a century, I obviously couldn't let anyone else from the Astolpho family live.""How could I let anyone have power over the Alpha?""Besides," he sneered, "they all saw me begging on my knees back then. So they all had to die."What an ungrateful bastard!Murderous rage boiled in my chest.Alaric continued, "Pretending to be your mother was a clever trick, but you're still too immature. You barged right into the estate just to pick a fight with Stella.""If you had gone straight to the Sanctuary and brought your mother out,

Stella's eyes instantly turned red.She choked out, "Father," and threw herself at him.Alaric patted her back tenderly and wiped her tears. "You've suffered so much all these years."Then, he looked at me darkly."Since you asked why, I'll tell you. Because of your mother's Astolpho family, Stella had to be raised outside. Even after your mother left, Stella could only enter the estate as an adopted daughter.""You're both my daughters, but you lived in luxury, called a princess by everyone, while Stella couldn't even call me 'Dad' in public. How is that not you and your mother owing her?"Seeing Alaric looking down at me like that, I had never felt he was such a stranger.I used to think he had just changed over the last ten years, but now I realized I probably never knew who he really was."You were the one who swore to love only me for the rest of your life," I said softly.I never planned to take Alaric as my mate. The Astolpho bloodline was both a treasure and a ticking time bomb
