CHAPTER SIX

"It's Sunday and I have to go to church. I can't believe you're inviting me to a beach party early Sunday morning, Henry."

"Dude, can't you forfeit this one, hm? Hot girls are gonna be there. And hot guys too."

"I shalt not be tempted by the devil on a holy day, thank you."

"But...

Dante hanged up before Henry could say anything else. He placed his phone and his bible in his bag. He looked around to be sure he wasn't forgetting anything. He smiled in satisfaction as he headed to the door. Mrs Yolando is a devoted christian and she brought up her children to be one. Though Dante doesn't consider himself devoted, he tries to make sure he doesn't miss church on Sundays. It's just like an habit of his.

He was about opening the door when the doorbell rang. He wondered who it could be at this hour. He opened the door and was greeted with Dimitri's loud wail. Dante was beyond shocked, he wasn't expecting him at all.

"Dimitri? What...

"Best friend, I'm sad!" He wailed louder, hurling himself on Dante. Thankfully, Dante was quick to hold him or else he would have fell.

"Dimitri, what's...what happened? When did you arrive?"

Dante ended up going back inside with Dimitri in his arms. He made him sit on the couch.

"Dimitri, what happened?" Dante asked as he gave Dimitri a box of tissues. Dimitri took one and blew his nose loudly.

"I thought you weren't arriving until next month. How come you're here, looking far from okay?"

Dimitri kept sobbing. Dante had to save his questions for later. He has to calm Dimitri down first. After about twenty minutes later, Dimitri was able to talk, though he was still sobbing.

"So tell me, what happened?"

"My parents figured out I did computer engineering and not civil."

Dante's jaw dropped. He froze and stared at Dimitri with widened eyes and raised eyebrows, "they did what?!"

"I know. I'm in a lot of trouble, Dante."

Dimitri's parents are those types of parents that impose their unfulfilled dreams on their children. Dimitri's father failed to become the civil engineer he wished to become so he imposed it on Dimitri. Dimitri's interest was in computers so he studied it behind his parents' back. His parents never visit him at school or have time for him so it was easy to keep a secret until now.

"How did it happen?"

Dimitri sniffed, "so I was on campus right? For some reason my parents decided to visit me for the first time in five years and...and...I'm screwed, Dante. Screwed!"

"Okay okay, calm down. Stop crying, okay? Just breathe, hm?"

"How can I breathe? I'm basically dead right now! I had to flee. My dad has been trying to reach me since yesterday. Why now, huh? Why did they decide to visit me in my final year?" Dimitri sobbed harder. It pained Dante to see his best friend like this. He pulled him close and began patting his back. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay." Dante kept assuring. Dante was mad at Dimitri's parents. He felt like appearing before them right now and giving them a piece of his mind.

"So what are you gonna do now? Are you gonna give up?"

Dimitri raised his head from Dante's shoulder, "give up? When I'm only two months away to finishing? Hell no. I'll probably get disowned but I don't care at this point. They can't keep controlling me like I'm some game character. You know what, I'm gonna clean my tears. I'm hungry, do you have anything at home?"

Dante smiled. His best friend's sass is back. Dante and Dimitri have known each other since middle school. They went to the same highschool and got admitted into the same university. They parted ways when Dante moved to Saint Hok for his residency but they stayed in touch. They are each other's other halves. Though they are the complete opposite. Dante is the calm one while Dimitri is always hyper 24\7. Dimitri makes messes while Dante cleans it up. But because of their differences, they are the perfect match.

"Wow, Dante. Your room still calls me dirty in ten different languages even after two years of not seeing each other."

"Don't touch anything."

"Why?"

"Anything you touch breaks, Dimitri. Don't touch...

Too late. Dimitri already broke the lamp. Dante facepalm himself. "Oops, sorry." Dimitri left the bedside and joined Dante by the door.

"Why are you so...

Dimitri pulled Dante into a hug before he could get scolded. Dante held him tighter.

"I've missed you."

Dante smiled. He chuckled when he felt Dimitri snuggling his neck. "Dude, are you a cat?" Dante teased.

"I've missed your hugs."

"Stop kissing my neck." Dante pushed him off. "You're the reason people thought you were my boyfriend in college. Always clinging to me like a lost puppy."

"What? I'm not your type? Hm? A guy sexy as I am?"

Dante bursted into laughter at Dimitri's "sexy" pose. "You look like a gorilla in heat. Your cloths are dirty. Change and come out for breakfast."

"By breakfast you mean toast, right? Because I know damn well you can't cook."

"You know so don't ask. Quickly change."

"Okie dokie."

Dante left the room, laughing to himself. The peaceful days in his house is over now that that troublemaker is back. Though it's for the best. As they ate, the both of them talked about almost everything that has been going on with them.

"Oh, I forgot to ask. What are your plans after residency?" Dimitri asked.

"I was unsure until three days ago. You won't believe who wanted to hire me as their personal doctor."

"Who?"

"Keane Miller and Sebastian Javernick."

Dimitri paused his glass of water halfway. "What did you just say? Sebastian Javernick, as in.. Sebastian? That famous company president?"

"YuP"

"It's a lie."

"It's not."

"But..how?"

Dante explained everything to Dimitri. His encounter with the two billionaires and the contracts. How he ended up in Sebastian's house and his not-so-smooth encounter with Keane.

"You emptied water on Keane's head? Are you insane? You're lucky he didn't make you pay for what you did. You should be calming down sometimes."

"Calming down? He splashed mud water on me!"

Dimitri shook his head, "so you'll be staying with Sebastian?"

Dante nodded, blushing, "Yeah."

Seeing Dante's expression, a teasing smirk found its way to Dimitri's lips, "what's with the blush? You're going there to be his personal doctor or is there anything else other than that? Hm?" Dimitri asked, wiggling his brows, making Dante blush harder.

"Nothing. I'm not blushing. I'm just hot."

"The AC is on, dummy."

"Whatever, I'm just hot."

"I see."

ONE MONTH LATER

"Are you sure you're gonna be okay?"

Dimitri nodded. He spread his hands for a hug and Dante hugged him. "Make sure you text me when you land, okay?"

"Hm. I promise."

It was hard for Dante to say goodbye to Dimitri again but he was rest assured that Dimitri would come visit again in a few months. After saying goodbye to Dimitri he left the airport. He was about going into his car when a BMW screeched to a stop before him. He wondered who it could be.

A bulky looking man stepped out of the car and approached Dante.

"Good evening." He greeted.

"Good evening. Do I know you?"

"Master Sebastian asked us to retrieve you."

"Sebastian? Sebastian Javernick?"

"Yes."

"Retrieve me? What for?"

"You'll know when we get to him."

Dante sighed. "But my car...

"Don't worry, it'll be fine."

Even though he was uncertain, he gave the man his car keys and stepped into the BMW. What could he want to see me for? He wondered as they hit the road. It might not be something big as he's thinking so he calmed himself down.
