LOGINThauce often visited the bar, always sitting in the same spot, and I frequently caught him looking at me. He still believed that Errol and I had something more than just friendship. His piercing gaze made me uncomfortable, and I could sense the judgment in his eyes whenever he watched me.
"Lea's here." I heard Seya's voice and I turned to look at the door.
"Hey, guys!" Lea greeted. When I was on duty, she's the one taking care of Seya.
"Take care, sis. Message me once you are at work, okay?"
I looked at the clock and stood up, and kissed her on the forehead. Seya's body had changed a lot.
"I will, Seya."
She's always showing me a cheerful look even though it's obvious that she's having a hard time to breathe.
Every night, I cried quietly and prayed because of the big changes in her body. She lost so much weight and her hair is falling. It hurt me so much; if I could take away her pain, I would.
"That's right, Zehra. Your job is important, right? Plus, your boss is nice," Lea said to me. I nodded and smiled at her.
"Thank you, Lea, for watching over Seya. Soon when everything is fine we will repay you and your family for your kindness," I said.
She smiled at me and shook her head. "Don't worry about that. We're family here, Zehra. We can't help you financially so this is our only way of showing love to you and Seya."
I hugged her and thanked her again. I said goodbye to Seya and headed to the bar. It was still early, so I wouldn't be late. After a twenty-minute, I finally arrived at Jio's Bar. I had been working there for two months now. My coworkers were nice, especially our boss.
"Zehra! The bar is booked for tonight and tomorrow. There's a party for Sir Jio's friends. They have a guest from Canada," Alice told me.
We were in the locker room, and I was putting on my uniform.
"Yeah, so we won't be too tired today, and they might leave early," Ayah replied.
That's good news. I'll be able to go home to Seya early. I also felt embarrassed for Lea and her family because they were really waiting for me to get back from work before leaving Seya. They were so kind to us.
"I heard all of the guest are Sir Jio's friends."
We stood by the counter, glancing at the door. Then Errol will be here?
How about Thauce?
Wait. Why am I thinking about that arrogant man?
"Are they all guys? You know, Zehra, all of Sir Jio's friends are handsome! I have a crush on one of them," Alice said.
I just smiled in response. Suddenly, I remembered Errol. He was handsome and kind.
"Oh, here they come!"
I turned my gaze back to the door. The first person I saw was Errol. I smiled when our eyes met. He waved and walked toward me. When he greeted me, I noticed a beautiful woman behind him, along with Thauce.
Ahh. My mood was already ruined after seeing him. And as usual, those icy stares will meet my eyes. But I was fast to look away.
"Zehra, how are you? How's Seya?" Errol asked. I was surprised when he suddenly kissed me on the cheek.
T-That was unexpected and this is the first time he did that even though I know that was just a greeting.
"I-I'm fine, Errol—I mean, Sir Errol. And Seya's at home uhm, still in her treatment. How about you?" I asked.
At work, I had to call him sir. I should always remind myself that before that man—Thauce, spit some spicy words again.
"Drop the sir, Zehra. You don't need to call me that. By the way, have you eaten?"
O-Okay. It's awkward
I glanced at the two people behind him, who were listening to what he was saying. I noticed the woman looking at me with a smile. She was stunning, with black long hair that curled at the ends. She was tall, but I was slightly taller than her.
"Y-Yeah, Done already," I replied.
Then, three men entered. I also spotted our boss, Sir Jio.
"Then, Zehra, see you later. After our party, let's grab coffee at Dreamland. My treat," Errol invited me.
I noticed Thauce's judging gaze on me again. And I didn't like when his lips rose as if telling me that he was right what he was thinking about me and his cousin.
"Let's go, Lianna. Errol will just follow us," Thauce said to the woman beside him.
Lianna...
But the way he said her name, there was softness.
"Wait, I wanted to meet this beautiful woman first, Arzen."
Arzen? That was the second name of Thauce.
"Hello, I'm Lianna Eliz, a friend of Errol and your boss. What's your name?" she asked me with a smile. It was a genuine smile. But aside from that, I admire her face
She's really beautiful...
Lianna extended her hand to me. I wiped my right palm on the back of my uniform before accepting it.
"I-I'm Zehra Clarabelle," I replied.
"Let's grab coffee later, Zehra. Please accept Errol's invitation. It's unusual for him to talk to women and ask them out for coffee. You must be someone... special," Lianna said and turned to look at Errol.
From her words, I just noticed something...
"It's not that. I just don't have many girl friends. Just you and Zehra," Errol said, smiling.
When I looked at Thauce, his expression was still sour. What was his problem this time?
"Okay, Zehra. See you later!" Errol said and I nodded. He walked away, followed by Lianna, who smiled at me before leaving. As Thauce passed by, he stopped and spoke softly.
"You've really caught Errol's attention, Zehra Clarabelle."
I almost rolled my eyes at him but thank goodness I stopped myself.
"Just like what I said, sir. We're friends."
He smirked. "Friends..."
When he turned his back he intentionally bumped his shoulder on me that made my lips parted.
"Asshole," I whispered.
For the next few hours, we just kept an eye on them to see if they needed anything. By one in the morning, some of Sir Jio's friends were already drunk. I learned that Lianna was the friend who came from Canada.
And the three of them. Thauce, Errol and Lianna. They'd been friends since they were kids.
"Zehra, I'm going to throw some trash outside," I looked at Alice.
I walked over to her. "Oh, I'll do it."
"Really? Are you sure?" she asked.
I nodded and smiled. "Yes, I usually do this anyway."
"Thanks, Zehra!"
I walked behind the bar and was about to turn to throw the trash when I overheard a conversation. My eyebrows furrowed because I know who's the owner of that voice.
"Lianna, is it still Errol?"
My mouth fell open.
Thauce!
"Arzen, you're drunk. Is this what you want to talk about that's why you want us out here?"
And it was Lianna! W-What...
"Why? Don't you want to? You know this is why I called you here, Lianna. I've been waiting for you to come back from Canada and notice me. But it's still Errol! What do you see in him? He's been a jerk to you. Can't you see me? Can't you... love me?"
I was leaning against the wall and I covered my mouth. I felt like I'm listening to a different person.
T-That cold arrogant is begging and there was pain in his voice.
But wait! Why was I listening to their conversation?
Leave, Zehra! I scolded my self. As I was about to turn my back suddenly, I heard Lianna's response.
"Ten years, and it's still Errol. I'm sorry, Arzen..."
"I still love him so much and he's the reason why I came back."
I quickly went back inside the bar after hearing Lianna's response, gripping the garbage bag tightly.
So, Thauce has feelings for Lianna, and Lianna still loves Errol? A love triangle. But I never thought that Thauce has that emotion. He was really hurt by what I heard.
"Oh, Zehra? Why do you still have the trash?" Alice asked.
I was about to answer when Austen, one of our bouncers, approached me.
"Zehra, your phone has been ringing for a while. I took it from the gadget case because it might be important," he said.
I dropped the garbage bag and grabbed my phone. I saw it was Lea calling, and panic hit me. I dialed her number back, and after a few rings, she answered.
"Z-Zehra! It's S-Seya!" Lea said, crying. My hands trembled. I took off my apron with one hand and started walking outside.
"W-What happened?"
My vision blurred with tears. Before I could get out, someone grabbed my hand. I turned to see Errol, concern written on his face.
"S-Seya had an attack again, Zehra! She's having trouble breathing. She vomitted a lot of b-blood and we took her to the hospital. She's in the ICU now, Z-Zehra."
O-Oh God... No... please...
LAST CHAPTER. The Cervellis'I shed so many tears. There were times when I wanted to give up because life was so difficult, especially when Seya got sick. But after everything that happened, who would have thought that the man I once considered a terrible person—the one who offered me a three-month agreement in exchange for ten million—would become my husband?"Baby! Don't run!" I called out to our youngest daughter, who was running around. I immediately stood up to chase after her, but then I heard Thauce telling our eldest son what to do. I was preparing our food while Thauce was busy setting up the tent.We were right in front of our house here in Hawaii. We had decided to go camping by the beach, and the timing was perfect because the sky was filled with stars."Waves! Big waves!" our baby girl shouted excitedly as she enjoyed playing by the shore."Leandro, follow your sister. Make sure she doesn't hurt herself.""Yes, Dad."I smiled as our eldest immediately obeyed. He's Thaicau
"Merry Christmas!"As soon as the clock struck midnight, we greeted one another in unison. I hugged Thauce, and he kissed the top of my head."Merry Christmas, wife...""Merry Christmas, husband..." I replied, making him grin. He really loved it whenever I called him husband. We didn't go to bed right away after finishing our meal. We watched a movie, and Thauce invited me to sleep several times, but I wasn't sleepy yet. However, when I noticed both Lianna and Seya yawning, I decided it was time for all of us to rest, especially since Lianna and Eleazar were probably still dealing with jet lag."Was Lianna's arrival another one of your surprises?" I asked. We were already lying in bed. As usual, I was nestled against his chest with his arms around me."Hmm. I knew you'd be happy to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her. But it was also Lianna's decision. I was the one who brought it up, though.""I thought work was the reason you stayed outside for so long earlier."So Eleazar had
A day had already passed, and I was only confronting him now. When Seya finally told me the truth, she kept apologizing. I wasn't angry, though. I was definitely shocked, and it took me a while to process everything, but I didn't feel any anger toward her. I accepted it even more easily after Doc. Ariq talked to me to explain everything and apologize. It had never crossed my mind. Seya was only about to turn twenty-one, and I had no idea that something special had developed between the two of them over the past few months."It's not my story to tell, baby. I was also waiting for Seya to tell you the truth."Hmm. He had a point.I lay down beside him, and Thauce immediately pulled me closer, wrapping his arm around my waist."So that's why Seya kept calling him Waxen. I thought they were just comfortable with each other."I let out a sigh and rested my head against Thauce's chest. I wrapped my arm around his side, too."Thauce, I think Doc. Ariq is a good person. He's kind, but Seya is
Thauce didn't stop smiling throughout the drive. I checked the time. It was still dark, and it was almost four in the morning. We were heading to Toorak, the place Thauce had mentioned. It was about thirty minutes from the airport. But as we drove there, I couldn't help being distracted by everything we passed. It was beautiful! It almost didn't seem real. It looked like the pictures I'd seen on posters at the market or the framed pictures people hung on their walls for decoration. I didn't know how to explain it."Do you like what you're seeing?"I slowly nodded, my eyes still fixed on the view outside the window. I kept looking at everything we passed. Goodness! Did that mean Thauce owned a house in such a beautiful country?I was sure buying land and building a house in a place like this couldn't be cheap!"We didn't eat on the plane. Are you hungry?"I turned to Thauce for his question. His attention remained focused on the road."I'm not really hungry."I'd slept through most of
After saying that, he claimed my lips and kissed me deeply. I could only shake my head and smile at his idea. Thauce really was something else. Even on a plane! Honestly!"A-Are you sure no one will see or hear us?" I asked. Thauce continued showering my neck with kisses. My dress was already off, and now I felt him removing the last piece of clothing I had on."I'm sure..."I held his head as his lips moved to my chest. Once I was completely bare, Thauce lifted one of my legs and gently caressed it before returning to my lips."Hmm..." I responded to his heated, possessive kiss. I clung to the back of his neck, and when he released my thigh, one of his hands moved to my chest. A soft moan escaped me in the middle of our kiss as he pressed and caressed me more firmly."Aahhh..."I returned his kisses with long, passionate ones filled with love. When Thauce finally pulled away, my chest rose and fell as I caught my breath. As he got up, I followed him with my eyes. Even though he quick
I quietly hugged myself while gazing out the window at the tiny lights below. Thauce's private plane had just taken off, and he wasn't beside me because he was talking to some of the staff. When we went to Palawan before, I didn't get to enjoy the view like this, especially since it was morning. At night, the tiny lights in different colors were a beautiful sight."It's different when you're up here. The huge buildings and other tall structures with lights look like little ants from this height," I whispered to myself.Honestly, this was one surprise I never expected Thauce to prepare for me, even though I missed Seya so much. I knew he could afford it because he had a lot of money, but after everything he'd already given me and all the ways he'd shown that he would do anything for me, this was still far beyond anything I'd imagined.Especially bringing my parents' remains to the cemetery and having a mausoleum built for them. I never thought that was possible. Even now, two days late
