“All hail the Alpha King!”
The announcement thundered through the hall as I was dragged inside. The sound echoed against the stone walls, mocking me. Smoke, blood, defeat—everything from the battlefield still clung to my skin.
The Moon-Eyed Pack had surrendered.
My father had chosen survival over pride.
We had already lost too much.
Radolf stepped in like a storm, his presence suffocating the entire hall. I could feel his anger without even looking at him. Every Alpha King was bound by cursed protocols—rules that forced them to grant mercy where none was deserved. If not for those rules, my pack would already be ashes.
Every head in the courtroom bowed.
Every head—except mine.
Agnes stood near the entrance, lips curved in a tight smile. She watched Radolf like a worshipper watches a god. Everyone believed she would be the next queen. The only woman allowed near his bed after his mate’s death.
I was shoved forward.
Iron chains bit into my skin as Cohen pushed me deeper into the courtroom. I felt every stare. Once, those same eyes would have bowed to me. I had been their equal—an Alpha’s daughter, a future leader.
Now, I was a prisoner.
I bit down hard on my lip, tasting blood. My back burned where the whips had torn into me earlier. Every movement of the chain felt like my flesh was being peeled away. I refused to cry. If Radolf sensed weakness, he would only enjoy breaking me more.
Radolf moved toward his throne, stopping when Agnes greeted him.
“Congratulations, my king.”
“Thanks, Agnes,” he replied coldly. “We have bigger goals ahead.”
Something in his tone unsettled her. I noticed it—even through my pain. He hadn’t sounded satisfied like that since before his mate died.
Agnes’s eyes drifted back to me, curiosity flickering behind her composure. She was obedient. That was why she stood where she did.
Radolf sat on his throne, his gaze sweeping the hall like a blade.
“It’s a pleasure to let you all know,” he announced, “that the Moon-Eyed Pack has submitted.”
Cheers erupted.
I felt sick.
An elder praised him, thanking him for avenging his Luna’s death.
Radolf silenced them with a single raised hand. His eyes locked onto me.
“I gave Alpha Artemis a chance to prove himself innocent,” he continued. “But I brought something in exchange for his promise.”
The room buzzed.
Their eyes crawled over me.
I clenched my jaw. Once, they would have lowered their heads before me.
Radolf’s lips curled with disgust.
“Meet my new slave—Reika Ulrich, daughter of Alpha Artemis.”
Something inside me snapped.
A growl tore from my chest before I could stop it. My wolf surged forward, furious, humiliated. Chains or not, I raised my head high.
The room froze.
Agnes stared at me like I was filth.
No one challenged their king.
And yet—I did.
“My king,” Agnes said sharply, turning to Radolf, “may I beat her?”
Radolf’s gaze burned into me. He was already tearing me apart without touching me.
“Of course,” he replied coldly. “She’s my property.”
Agnes approached me fast.
I didn’t flinch.
Her hand struck my face. Pain exploded across my cheek, my head snapping sideways.
“No one disrespects our king,” she snarled. “Bow if you want mercy.”
I stayed silent.
I stayed upright.
My wolf refused.
Agnes trembled with rage. She lifted her hand again.
“You—”
“Leave her,” Radolf cut in. “Only an Alpha can tame another Alpha.”
Agnes backed away reluctantly, glaring at me like she wanted to rip my throat out.
Radolf stood.
“Everyone out. Cohen—give me the chain.”
The room emptied in seconds. Even Cohen hesitated before Radolf barked—
“LEAVE.”
The doors slammed shut.
Silence fell.
Radolf walked toward me.
“Whipping didn’t fix you,” he said coldly. “But I know how to make you bow.”
I lifted my eyes, hatred blazing.
“You aren’t my king.”
He stepped closer until I could feel his breath.
“I will make you regret that mouth,” he growled. “Love died the day your father killed my mate. I’ll humiliate you before I whip you again.”
Then—
“Get on your fours.”
Disgust twisted my stomach.
I didn’t move.
“Disobey,” he continued calmly, “and I’ll attack your pack again. Imagine your father’s blood on my hands.”
Fear crushed my defiance.
My legs trembled as I stumbled, then lowered myself to the floor.
For my pack.
For my father.
Radolf’s satisfaction was worse than the pain.
He moved behind m
e, his voice echoing through the chamber like a curse.
“Show me your ass, Reika,” he said coldly. “Let’s see how much you bleed this time.”
|| AARON'S POV ||" You called for me?"Visenya spoke, peering her head through the door. She still didn't understand the fact that she had all the damn rights to walk through my office. I liked how she didn't feel desired for the position of Luna.I hummed softly, closing down the trading sheet that Alessio gave me," Yes, come inside."Visenya walked in, my eyes subconsciously falling on her belly. She had started to show her baby bump. Although all was forced on her, it made me so damn proud that my hair was growing inside her belly. She took the seat in front of me, her eyes resting on me curiously," Anything important?"I expelled a long sigh, preparing myself for the worst. I broke the news slowly, waiting for her reaction," You are coming with me to a ball tonight as my female companion."Surprise flickered in her eyes. She gulped before asking with a tight jaw," Means? As your mistress or girlfriend or what, Alpha?"My jaw clenched tight at her question. It annoyed me since
|| VISENYA's POV ||" He has started a war...for you ...."Alessio whispered into my ear, snapping me out of my thoughts. I stared at the mess in the room. Aaron had butchered a few of the werewolves, roaring like a lion. He seemed like he had lost his consciousness.I swallowed the fear in my heart. I didn't know why Alessio believed that I could calm the mad Alpha. I observed Aaron for a while. His eyes were glowing like the sunlight, a burning anger riding through his veins. My heart flew out of my chest in fear. I turned to Alessio, already giving up on the decision," I can't... Perhaps I will die but I can't do this shit."I tried to walk away from there but Alessio gripped me back in my position. He looked deep into my eyes, pleading and begging so brokenly," Please...He won't hurt you. You are carrying his child. Your child can calm him down. He has already done enough harm. Don't let him do it again."I couldn't ignore the plea in his voice. Letting out a sigh, I looked back
|| AARON'S POV ||I ran free and wild in the woods. The patrols wanted to follow me around but I told them to stay the fuck away. I was behaving like a crazy maniac to fuck my enemy. Goddess knew how hard it was to not fuck Visenya.I left her in the room after she climaxed on my fingers. My body was reacting abnormally after I smelt her arousal. So I decided to go for a run until I was calm and reserved. I had no idea how long I ran until the mountain ahead became my last destination. I stumbled over the rock abruptly, looking down at the river blankly. How could I touch Visenya like that? What had happened to my morals and hatred?I began to question my worth as an Alpha. My surroundings were quiet until my wolf sniffed something in the air. Some figures began to appear from the bushes aside, giving me alerts. At first I failed to recognize it until I spotted Kalix at the back. His brother, Kenan was in the front, shifting back to his human shape. I looked around curiously and notic
|| VISENYA'S POV ||The world around me crashed down. Kalix's confession left me flabbergasted. I looked down at the hand that Kalix held me. Surprisingly I didn't feel secure like Aaron.A dead silence lingered in the air until Aaron snarled at Kalix, taking a step ahead of us," I WILL FUCKING SKIN YOU ALIVE! Don't try to manipulate her."A smug smile tugged on Kalix's lips. He held me closer and buried his head into my hair. Goosebumps appeared on my skin but it was nowhere near the sparks that I felt around Alpha Aaron. Kalix teased the matter further, staring at Aaron challenging," That doesn't change the fate, does it? She feels.. something...Alpha...Why don't you just give my time with her?"Aaron clenched his jaw harder but his eyes were somewhere else. The sound of men dragging reached our ears. Aaron gestured with his chin, wearing a bone-chilling smile," Perhaps you should focus on your people more than my pup's mother, Kalix."Kalix looked behind at the commotion. His pe
|| AARON's POV ||As I stood before Sansa's grave, the weight of grief pressed down on me like a heavy stone. It had been months since she passed away, but the pain still felt fresh, raw, as though it had just happened yesterday."Aaron." The voice cut through the silence, jolting me out of my reverie. I turned to see Caden, Sansa's father, standing a few feet away, his expression stern."Caden," I replied, my voice hoarse with emotion. "I didn't expect to see you here."Caden's eyes bore into mine, and I could see the anger simmering beneath the surface. "I come here every day, Aaron," he said, his voice tinged with bitterness. "To visit my daughter's grave. To remember her. And do you know who I never see here? You."His words hit me like a slap in the face, and I felt a surge of guilt wash over me. He was right – I hadn't been here as often as I should have. I had let my grief consume me, allowing it to drive a wedge between me and those who cared about me."I'm sorry, Caden," I sa
|| VISENYA'S POV ||" Keep the pup out, Visenya!"I jumped out at his words, dropping the pup carefully. It whined for a while, refused to leave me but I guided it outside. I didn't want to anger him anymore. Biting my lips together, I walked back in front of him, waiting for his words obediently. He paced back to forth across the room furiously. I could feel that he was controlling his anger because of me. He snarled at me, his voice dripping with danger," WHAT DID I TELL YOU, Visenya? What did I tell you about not leaving my sight?"I opened my mouth to say something but my lips betrayed since it was the fucking truth. I should have told him before going to the border. Hanging my head low, I muttered breathlessly, ignoring his raged eyes," I..I am sorry..I really didn't mean to do it."That Alpha was nice to me. He gave me fruits to eat after they took me away. I was so flabbergasted by the whole situation that I couldn't even scream for help. Aaron continued to glare at me until
