ALEXA

Walking back to the villa didn’t pacify my anger. Instead, it grew even worse.

There was no way I could go back to sleeping in the same room and on the same bed with Mark. I could barely even stand him. Every time he hurt me, he resurrected the ones he had done before that broke me, making me deeply hurt.

“I can’t do this,” I said as I struggled to keep the tears in.

I had to keep a dry face because I had the feeling that I would run into Alora in the living room or dining table area. She was always there, doing one thing or another, and I didn’t want her to have any negative thoughts or imaginations.

But I knew that I couldn’t.

So I slowed down a bit. But first, I looked back to see if Mark was following me, and when I saw that he wasn’t, I was relieved because I wouldn’t have to walk fast. I needed time to think fast on how to create some boundaries between Mark and me.

The closer I stayed by him, the more difficult it was to control myself around him.

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Our Pain

ALEXAGina and I stared at each other for a few seconds without saying a word, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what I just saw.Noelle had always been hammering on the uncanny resemblance between Gina and the forgotten actress, but I never paid her any mind.Even when she showed me this exact picture and I had noticed that the younger girl looked like Gina, I hadn’t dwelt on it.Gina’s hair color was different now, and the picture was taken several years ago, so she didn’t look exactly like that anymore, but now, I realized that it was because Gina had changed her looks.“You are Lina Barry’s sister,” I repeated.“No, I am not,” Gina said, snapping. She hadn’t said a single word since, and the first thing she thought to do was deny something that was glaring? The way she even held the picture possessively and tightly to her chest as though it would be taken away from her confirmed my suspicion.“Yes, you are,” I responded firmly. “But how…?” I started to ask, but confusion made my

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Out Of Pity

ALEXAGoing to my dad’s house would have been an option if he knew what was happening, but there were reasons why I didn’t want to.My dad would immediately suspect that something was wrong if he saw me there because he knew that I wouldn’t just show up there to spend the night on my own accord.I didn’t even think I wanted to go back there and have to see Clara. There was only one place my mind could think of, and I found myself right in front of her door. I intentionally did not go with my car because I didn’t think I could drive in my state of mind.I rang the doorbell and Gina opened the door. Her eyes widened with shock when she saw me.“Alexa, what are you doing here?” She asked me.“Hi, Gina,” I greeted, trying to force a smile.Gina looked around outside her apartment hastily, and fear crossed her eyes, making me wonder why she seemed so afraid to be seeing me here.“It’s just me,” I answered the question that she didn’t ask, but that didn’t seem to pacify her.“What are you d

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Day Of Doom

MARK“I bet you don’t, huh?” Mr. Donald asked further, sneering.Of course, I remembered vividly; only recently anyway.I had driven to a hotel where I suspected Ivy had been because that was the first time I had suspected her of something. I heard her talking about it on the phone, and so I had followed her. Then when I followed her into the room, and found her with Oscar, I had stormed out in annoyance and hurt, gotten into my car, and driven out of the hotel, and then the accident had happened, leading to a coma.I didn’t remember the accident long after I came out of coma, otherwise, I wouldn’t have fallen for Ivy’s lies and gotten back together with her, but I later did, and I hadn’t forgotten about it ever since.“I do,” I responded, turning to Mr. Devon again. “But what has that got to do with this?” I asked.I thought that our conversation was over, and that I already knew what I needed to know, but apparently, I was wrong.“Do you also remember that we did have a conversation

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   A Greedy Ingrate

MARKBrent and I spent most of the day in the station as he tried to make a lawsuit against Mr. Devon. He was right about my secretary being caught. She didn’t even go very far enough. She was caught trying to flee the city.“Please, Mr. Mark, it wasn’t intentional,” she pleaded. She knew that she didn’t have a lawyer to get her out of this situation, and so the fear in her was palpable.“Mr. Devon lured me into it,” she continued to plead.“He didn’t force you into it, and you could have turned him down, but you were too greedy, despite the fact that I paid you well enough,” I told her.“At first, I thought it was just an affair, but much later, he started talking about taking over your company,” she confessed.I would have been shocked if I hadn’t heard this same confession from Mona, and this only went on to mean that Mr. Devon had just one pattern; lure them in with an affair that was mingled with money, gifts, and whatever things he provided for them, and when he had roped them

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Pessimistic

ALEXAThe news had gone viral. Indeed, rumors spread faster than wildfire, and in the space of a few hours, most of our clients, especially the high-profile ones had called to withdraw their contract.“I am certain that by the end of the day, we would have no other client,” I lamented wistfully. It was even worse because I would have to refund those who already paid for the job to be done.“Please, ma’am, don’t be pessimistic,” Shirley said.“The earlier I begin to count my losses, the less painful it would be for me,” I responded. That wasn’t true, but right now, my heart was still too heartbroken to process anything. Donald Shell wasn’t bluffing when he said that he could make everything about me crumble, and it was happening right in front of my eyes.I was tired of crying. I couldn’t think of anything to do that would make my predicament better, and as I stared at all the outfits in my living room, I just felt completely broken and worthless. This wasn’t the excitement I had whe

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Out Of The Bag

ALEXAA knock on the door woke me up.“Ugh!” I grumbled drowsily.I had difficulty sleeping last night, and that was because I was scared of Donald Shell. Even the cop being outside and watching over my apartment wasn’t enough for me.I felt like he would walk into my apartment and do what he didn’t get to do in my house, and at a point in the middle of the night, after tossing and turning with a thumping heart, I realized one regret.I should have let Mark stay the night again.I didn’t fall asleep until very early this morning, and even right now, the fear was still inside of me.The knock sounded again.“I am coming,” I said. “Who could it be?” I asked myself.I got out of bed and proceeded to go and check who was at the door, but my phone beeped, and another message from Donald Shell popped up.“I will always be around like a shadow you can’t get rid of, Alexa Silver. Don’t forget that I know how to get to the one person you love the most, and of course, I have what it takes to br
