Leaving Alexa hadn’t been my desire, but I didn’t have much choice because this was business, and my company was still a priority.

I spent the next couple of hours speaking to the client in my office as we deliberated on a lot of things, especially the new project we will be embarking on together. By the time he left my office, we had made final arrangements on when and how to move forward with the project.

This was a big contract for my company, and I intended to leverage on it to get many bigger contracts.

The moment he left, Mr. Devon walked into my office.

“You could have knocked, Mr. Devon,” I immediately told him. “I don’t appreciate walking into my office just like that,” I said.

Mr. Devon looked stunned and hurt at the same time.

The last time we spoke was when I had tried to ask him some questions, but he hadn’t been able to answer to anyone of them.

“I apologize,” Mr. Devon said.

Then he went back out, shut the door gently, and knocked properly.
