ALEXA

Finally, the dinner that seemed to be stretching for so long ended, much to my relief.

“Alexa, honey, do you want to maybe join me in clearing the table?” Clara asked, getting back to her acting.

She had been quiet for long, and that was majorly because the conversation had shifted from false pretenses and silly compliments to business talk.

But she would not fool me with any of her acting.

“That’s the job of the maids,” I stated as we all got up. “Didn’t they set the table?” I asked her.

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   A Game Between Two Women

MARKAfter my company was crowned the winner of the fair, which of course, was a big deal, the rest of the fair was filled with celebrations, even down to the night. That was usually how the fair ended. But for me, it didn’t feel like a victory, especially as I didn’t see Alexa. The crowd was much, but again, I would see Alexa in any crowd whatsoever, so why didn’t I see her?“Congratulations, Mr. Mark Ronaldo!” Those were the words I kept hearing, and I tried to put up a smile so that it doesn’t look like I wasn’t happy to have won.Where was Alexa?“I am so happy for you, Mark,” Mona said, hugging me tightly and warmly.“Thank you, Mona,” I said.I felt slight guilt because all this time, I was thinking of Alexa and dying to set my eyes on her. Mona had been nothing but caring and supportive, and she didn’t deserve to be treated like this. Didn’t I assure myself that I had gotten over Alexa Silver? Why couldn’t I get her off my mind for hours now?I blamed Vector for bringing her t

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Just To See Her

MARK“Are you really going to go over to her?” Vector had asked me when I made to leave after he pointed me in the direction of where Alexa had her business stand.“I just want to see her, that’s why,” I had responded to Vector.“But why?” Vector had asked. “You said you were moving on from her, and you are even in a relationship with Mona now,” he had reminded me. “What would you say to her if you went to her now? Do you want to trigger her? Do you want to upset her?” Vector had questioned me deeply.“Why are you being defensive over her, Vector,” I had asked. “I am not being defensive, Mark Ronaldo. I am just being very realistic, and it’s only fair that you go back to your lover whom you have been flaunting since the fair began, and stick with her,” Vector had said, almost angrily. Not that Vector really wanted me to be with Mona. I figured that he was just upset. He had always wanted me to be with Alexa and no one else.“What is the meaning of this?” I had asked Vector.“I just d

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   His Tiny Revenge

ALEXA“I don’t know why Noelle is taking so much time,” I muttered to myself, becoming more and more uncomfortable being left alone. After what he said to me, my eyes began to dart about, seeking Donald Shell.I didn’t want him to appear without my notice. Now that I had been alerted, I wanted to stay conscious. Maybe that way, I wouldn’t be so scared. But inside of me was already shivering.“Gosh, I think I am going to be sick,” I said to myself as I placed my hand on my chest. The feeling at the pit of my stomach, mixed with dread, was making my head spin. Right now, I just wanted to leave. I didn’t care about the fair anymore or even my business; I hadn’t even had a single person look in my direction, and Shirley had been gone for a while now and yet nothing anyway. If leaving would make me feel better, keep my baby safe, and get me far away from Donald Shell, I would gladly forfeit it.If only I had raised the money, I would have flown out of Paris right this instant; that was how

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   In My Mind

MARKSince Vector told me about seeing Alexa, I hadn’t been at rest. Against the wishes of my heart, my eyes kept wandering around, hoping to catch a glimpse of Alexa somewhere around.“Mark!” Mona called, drawing my attention back to her.“Huh?” I asked dumbly.“You haven’t heard a word of what I said,” she said. And she wasn’t lying.Mona had almost become invincible to me and I was really struggling to pay attention. It made me wish now that she had other friends so that she would give me some space. Vector had walked away with the excuse of wanting to explore after Mona returned with drinks, and I knew that he didn’t want an awkward situation with her, so he would rather just leave.“What were you saying?” I asked Mona even though I wasn’t particularly interested in anything she might have to say.“I was talking about moving in together,” Mona said.My eyes widened in shock.“Hell no!” I said instantly and vehemently, so much so that it made Mona sad. “What I mean is that it is t

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Never Leaving His Enemy

ALEXATaking my eyes away from Marcus and Mona, who didn’t see me was quite easy, but taking it off my mind was completely impossible.Noelle and Shirley didn’t understand why I had to ask us to move to another corner. They hadn’t seen them too, and so I had to act before they did.I didn’t want to catch sight of Mark and his lover acting all loved all in the fair every single time I turned.“This is better,” I told Noelle and Shirley when we found a better spot.“It’s coming out nicely,” Noelle said gleefully.“And hopefully, it is going to be a fantastic day,” Shirley added. They were so optimistic that I didn’t have a choice other than to force a smile and nod in agreement. All I wanted was for something good to come out of today’s fair so that I could raise some money for the trip I wanted to make. That was all I was interested in.“Can I get you something to drink?” Noelle asked me. I was going to say that I wasn’t in the mood to have anything, and Noelle noticed it, so before

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Not Today

MARKThe fair was almost in full swing now and I was feeling better about it. “This is the first time I am attending a fair, Mark,” Mona told me.Since we arrived about thirty minutes ago, she had been clinging to my side, not wanting to let go, and because I understood that she was new to this because she had spent almost all her life in Toronto, I didn’t say anything about her clinginess.Mona had spent the night with me. We had had sex. This morning, we both got dressed and came here together. My team was already making sure everything was in place so I could actually enjoy the fair, and I was allowing myself to.“Do you like what you see?” I asked Mona even though I could already guess the answer.“Yes, I do!” Mona said. “And I think I am going to have some fun!” She added.“I believe so too,” I said.Soon enough, other people started arriving. I knew that in no time, the whole place would be crowded by most of Paris, but it would be fun and beautiful; I didn’t have any doubts ab

MARK“This is not to scare you, but to prepare your hearts for the worst,” Brent said. His words, intended to pacify, only ended up making the whole situation more horrifying.“But you are the best at what you do, Brent, and you have never lost a case,” I stated, trying to act and appear brave. No

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Not His Favorite

IVYI wanted to tell my mum what I just found out, badly, but she was rarely available.“I need to tell someone,” I said to myself as I paced from one side of my bedroom to the other.I thought of calling Alexa since I didn’t have any friends, but I quickly changed my mind. She was the last person

MARK“My client, Mark Ronaldo, has been unjustly accused of conspiring with Oscar when he was alive, while his friend, Vector, has been accused of murdering Oscar,” Brent started.“Accused?” The attorney asked in a sneer.“Is there an issue with what Brent just said?” The judge asked the attorney.

MARKVector and Brent arrived a couple of minutes later, and for a moment, Vector and I just stared at each other.Seeing him outside of jail after a while just made him seem a little different.
