"Last but not the least, these are the computer programmers of Smith technologies." Dennis introduced the investors who were with Mr Smith.

The moment Mr Smith stepped into the room with the investors and Victoria's eyes caught a glimpse of him, she sneakily took out her small mirror to see her face to make sure she was looking good and presentable.

She dropped the mirror back on the table once she noticed she was looking good and okay. She sneaked glances at him all the while he spoke to the investors.

After some minute, Mr Smith left with the investors and she finally heaved a sigh of relief. She has been holding her breath since he came in, and suddenly find him more attractive than he was before.

There was no time that the kisse they shared last night did not resurface in her head as she sneaked glances at him. She couldn't wait to be in the same room as him after all he had told her that he was officially going to court her.

"Here are the documents Mr Smith asked for, you can go and give it to him." Flora tells Rebecca.

"Thanks." Rebecca replied.

The moment Victoria heard that, a smile formed on her face. She had finally gotten something that would make her go to Mr Smith's office. "Rebecca," she called.

"Yes, how can I help you?" Rebecca asked.

"Give that to me. I will take it to him instead. I can see that you're busy." Victoria tells her.

"Thanks so much Tori. Are you not busy yourself?" Rebecca asked her.

"No." She lied. In Fact she had what to do but she wanted to see Mr Smith's face instead. Rebecca gave her the file and she collected it with a smile on her face.

"Good morning Clara." Victoria greeted with a smile on her face, holding unto the document in her hand firmly.

"Good morning Victoria." Clara replied with a smile on her face.

Victoria noticed the little girl by Clara's side. She looked just like Clara. "Is she your daughter?" Victoria asked.

"Yes." Clara answered.

"Say good morning, Amber." Clara tells Amber, her little daughter.

"Good morning." Amber replied.

"She's so cute." Victor complimented as she walked closer to the girl to touch her cheek. "Nice meeting you Amber." Victoria tells her.

"Nice meeting you too." Amber replied before she continued to play with the baby toy in her hands.

"Is Mr Smith in?" Victoria asked Clara

"No, he is not in. You want to see him?" Clara asked her.

She shook her head. "Not at all. I just wanted to give him the file. Rebecca said I had to give it to him directly." She tells Clara.

"Oh. He will be here soon." Clara said and that moment, Mr Smith walked in.

The moment Victoria saw him, her heart began to race faster than normal. She swallowed the pile of spit that formed in her mouth and she immediately adjusted her clothes.

"Good morning sir." Clara and Victoria said simultaneously.

Mr Smith looked at the both of them before nodding his head in acknowledgment. He walked into his office as if he had not seen Victoria which made her stomach sink.

She wondered if something happened to him because the man in front of her had just acted as if he had not told her yesterday that he was officially going to court her.

"I will be going now." Victor tells Clara before making her way into Mr Smith's room. When she entered, Me Smith was backing her as he sat down on his chair facing the other side.

"What do you want?" He asked her.

She cleared her throat. "Rebecca asked me to submit this to you." She tells him.

"What is it about?" He questioned casually.

"It's about the budget for..." Mr Smith cuts her short.

"Okay. I get it. Drop it on my table." He tells her.

She was taken aback by his words. Was he just going to tell her off like that? She thought to herself. He was speaking to her as if she was nothing other than his worker and it hurt her.

She wasn't angry but hurt as she felt her chest tighten. "Okay." She replied, trying not to sound hurt when she was. She placed the document on the table and left the office in annoyance.

Her eyes welled in tears as she mentally insulted herself for expecting him to do as he had said to her. She insulted herself for trying to look good just for him. She felt so angry that she didn't want to see his face for the rest of her life.

He was the one who made her heart race and her feelings all over the place yesterday and now he was acting as if he didn't do anything with her. "I'm such a fool for believing him." She spat out angrily.

Once she sat down on her seat, Rebecca noticed that her facial expression had turned sour because when she left, she left with a cheerful face expression on so it bothered her that Mr Smith must have shouted at her.

"Did Mr Smith shout at you?" Rebecca asked Victoria.

Victoria clenched her fist as she heard his name. She didn't want to hear the man who lied to her.

She shook her head. "Not at all." she said.

"Then what happened to you? You don't look happy?" Rebecca asked.

Before Victoria could reply, she heard a familiar masculine voice. "Ms Perkins, come see me now." She raised her head up to see Mr Smith standing in front of her.

She suddenly wondered why he wanted to see her after he had acted as if he didn't know her before. Not wanting to speak rudely and disrespect him in public, she got up from her seat and followed him.

They both said nothing as they walked to the top of the building. Finally they reached the roof.

"Are you going to speak or not? Let me know now so I can go back to what I was doing." She spoke as she folded her arms across her chest looking everywhere but him.

Mr Smith sighed. "Let's meet tonight by eight." He tells her.

She was taken aback by his words. "Excuse you?" She furrowed her brows in confusion. Was he asking her to meet him when he had just acted like she was a nobody earlier.

"What?" He questions confusedly.

She clicked her tongue as she shook her head lightly. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You saw me earlier didn't you and what did you do? You acted as if my presence was invalid and now you are asking me to see you? What effrontery!" She spat out.

"I never acted as if your presence were invalid. Okay let me just clear some things clear. I had not intended to make you feel that way because I wanted to but because I respected that you might love your boundaries. We are at work and I guessed you wouldn't want to do that. I guessed you aren't comfortable with anything yet so I didn't want to rush you." He clarified.

She mentally scolded herself from not thinking that there must be a reason for it. He was just doing everything for her and she got angry thinking he was not giving her as much attention as she should.

"Well, you should have told me so I would know and I understand you did it for me but I can't read your mind. That's why I acted the way I did." She tells him.

"It's fine. So we are meeting tonight right?" He asked.

"I will check my schedule." She replied and he shook his head.

"What schedule are you referring to?" He asked as his lips formed a lopsided grin.

"Who knows." She shrugged.

"You have a schedule? At night." He held himself from bursting into a fit of laughter. He knew she was only teasing him.

"Yes, I do have a schedule. I have to sleep. Isn't that enough of a schedule?" She defended.

"That's true." He said to her as he began to walk closer to her with both hands in his pants pocket.

He was now standing close to her then she hiccuped from the close proximity. He leaned down and whispered in her ears. "Invite me to your bed then, I can literally do anything as long as we can see tonight." He tells her, taking her by shock.

She gulped. He kissed her cheek before walking away. Just as he was about to walk through the door, he said, "I will text you tonight."
