He said, "I was talking to her earlier she found her mate and was leaving the pack," I felt a pang in my chest for an unknown reason when I heard she found her mate. I was in her bed two days ago and I knew I needed to talk to her before she left, so I could wish her well and my vampire was uneasy. I excused myself and went over to her quarters to see if I could talk to her and say our goodbyes, I did care about her but when I got there, her roommate said, "She left during the ceremony," and gave me a letter. I took it and put it in my jacket and I never read it, I went back to the reception feeling angry that she left without saying goodbye. Then I saw Issy and realized I shouldn't be angry when I have a mate and then I never thought about her again.

As we entered the hall, I heard a loud growl and turned to see this wolf grab my daughter from Tennison and say, "Mate," smelled her neck, and said, "MINE." I was about to attack him when Beta Drake and Tennison blocked me and Drake's eyes were waring with his wolf and vampire before I tried to overpower him with my aura and he laughed until Alpha Ares said, "Back down, Drake," Beta Drake said smugly, "As you wish", laughing like I was nothing to him and it infuriated me. "I'm your, King, Alpha, Please make sure your subordinates show me the respect I deserve, or next time I won't be so forgiving. I will let this slide as he is your brother," and looked at Ares, who then looked at me, and smirked before he nodded his head at Drake, who left to get everyone seated. I turned to see Tennison talking to the young wolf and I walked over to them and asked, "What was going on here?" Lily walked next to Issy and said, "Is he your mate?" Issy said, "Yes, Mom and I don't want to reject him, please, don't make me."

The wolf growled as he heard about the possibility of rejection, I said, "No, you will marry, Tennison and not this mutt." Tennison and the wolf growled at me and I was shocked at the disrespect coming from them, but Issy ran into his arms. So, I asked, "What's your name, mutt?" He looked at Tennison and got the okay before he said, "I'm Sky Valmore, youngest and last brother of our parents, although our mother is remarried with younger siblings," before smiling and saying, "But that's a story for another time." Everyone gasped at this revelation and I said, "I didn't know about another brother," Ares smirked and said, "We didn't want many people to know, as we are very protective of him and his privacy, he doesn't want the limelight, so we let him lie low." "He is our Delta here in the pack while we attend our businesses in the city and he is very capable of doing it alone. Please don't fool yourselves, we all have alpha blood," Tennison said, but to me, it pretty much sounded like a warning to anyone who tries to attack the pack if they are not there.

I watched as the man I loved, became loving towards his mate, I was heartbroken, I had just taken a pregnancy test and was excited to tell him. Maybe, we could make it official and become a couple, I admit, I came to his room the first night as a bet among my friends but I never expected to keep going back and falling in love with him. He was so smart and nice, he respected everyone and he was so gentle with me, he was ruthless if he wanted to be but never with me. I was not clueless, I knew he slept around, but it wasn't official among us, I only slept with him, and it pained me when he was with other people but who was me to tell him to stop if we weren't together, it would have been so much easier if we were mates. My mother has been hounding me to come home and fulfill my contract but I would never do that, I believed in love and mates.

I was looking for Toffe and decided to go to his room and when I got there, I heard the moans coming from the room. My heart hurt and my eyes clouded with water, I still had the pregnancy test in my hand, so I turned away and threw it in the garbage. I headed towards where they were going to have the ceremony and saw, Ty. I had made up my mind and told him a story about finding my mate to cover why I was leaving, I was going home and moving on with my life. Toffe came down and I backed up into a corner of the room, I watched him meet his mate and I closed my eyes holding back my tears, I decided I needed to leave now. I left there that day and never looked back, that part of my life was over, and at least I got to love someone even if they didn't love me back.
