Kael’s POV:

The second I asked her, a vein visibly popped on Elisa’s pale neck, indicating that she was pissed. Her rolled ocean eyes practically shot sparks at me.

“Why do you always show up where I expect you the least?!”

All of a sudden, she hissed, her teeth gritted so tight I could hear them grinding. She took a sharp, aggressive step back, clutching the damp towel higher against her chest, her knuckles turning white. “For now…leave…first.”

“But you didn’t answer my question.”

I grunted bo

  • Too Late, Alpha: I Choose Your Rival   Ch 44: Do Something!

Elisa's POV:Rex’s over-the-top performance actually worked. He dragged the lone guard down the corridor, giving me the exact split-second I needed.I slipped past the heavy metal door of the Blood Fang locker room, almost holding my breath. But the moment I stepped inside, my eyes landed on a massive, bare back.Standing, towering, and damp in the center of the room was the exact guy who had been driving me insane for the past three days!"KAEL BLACKTHORN!"The frantic shriek tore from my throat before I could stop it.He whipped around, and for a fraction of a second, raw shock broke through his usual calm facade. Our eyes locked, and it felt as if the entire world had halted right there. He wore nothing but a low-waisted snag towel tucked loosely around his hips, clearly about to hop into the showers. The second towel he was holding slipped right through his fingers, falling limply to the floor. My very first instinct was an overwhelming rush of relief, as if a deep, heavy weight l

  • Too Late, Alpha: I Choose Your Rival   Ch 43: That Girl?

Kael’s POV: "It has been two fuckin' days! My body aches so much from sleeping on the couch while you've occupied my bed! Why the hell aren’t you going back to your room, punk!? Or at least hand over your room key to me so I could get some sleep there!"I didn't even blink. My eyes remained glued to the glowing screen of my tablet as I lay back against Rex’s headboard, acting like I owned the place. On screen, the star striker of the Dark Feather hockey team, the one we are up against, executed a sharp wrist shot into the top corner. I rewound the clip a few times, analyzed his movement, and tracked the puck cutting across the ice before it hit the goal. Of course I was trying anything to avoid looking at Rex’s flushed, furious face. But seeing my complete lack of reaction, Rex blew a fuse. "What the hell is wrong with you? You turned off your phone and won't even show up for group training when the first practice match is right around the corner! I have never seen you behave thi

  • Too Late, Alpha: I Choose Your Rival   Ch 42: The Mole You're Looking For

Elisa’s POV:The next two days were surreal. It seemed the very man who had spent the past few days making me walk on eggshells across the lycan campus had suddenly vanished into thin air.To make matters worse, he vanished the moment I was desperate to return his million-dollar jersey. Every time I looked at his sleek black-and-crimson captain #1 jersey folded on my desk, my skin prickled. It wasn't just any regular gear but an authentic, signed original that practically screamed Kael Blackthorn's territorial presence, haunting my room.Though I had managed to forge a tentative bond with Nica, I couldn't bring myself to beg for her help with this again. Especially when I could sense a vivid tension between her and Kael.Besides, it was bad timing, since she was already fuming after her brother’s ex-girlfriend ruined her favorite vintage purple T-shirt."I swear if Rex asks me one more time to lend my clothes to his damn girlfriends…I am gonna fuckin’ end his life, Elisa," Nica had sn

Elisa's POV:I stood frozen. "The nurse's office?""Maria... she collapsed again tonight," Ethan said, looking down, unable to meet my eyes directly. "The doctor said her blood condition spiked and she needs a new blood transfusion urgently. Your best friend needs you, Elisa."Snap.Something inside my soul violently ruptured. The last remaining thread of bare minimum empathy, perhaps, I still held for the man standing before me turned to ash.Only then did a cold realization wash over me.So that’s why he had charged over here like a madman. That was why he was so desperate to track me down and drag me back not because he missed me. Not because he cared about my safety.Because his precious, vile little witch was running low on blood to keep her dark curse fed!‘You fucking bastard’, I screamed internally, my chest burning with a fury so intense it felt unbearable. ‘You crossed the boundary, fought guards, and put on a show of possessive love... just to deliver me back to the slaught

  • Too Late, Alpha: I Choose Your Rival   Ch 40: Was It Worth It?

Elisa’s POV:"What's wrong? What are you thinking so hard about?" Ethan’s voice cut through the heavy silence, laced with that possessive urgency that used to make my naive heart flutter before. Now, it just made my skin crawl.I snapped back to reality, my eyes darting towards the oak tree at the edge of the courtyard. The shadows beneath its dense canopy were thick and dark. Was I really imagining it?I swear a second ago, I had sensed a pair of dark, dangerous eyes watching us from behind the thick trunk. But the air was completely still now... and nothing moved.I forced a slow, steady breath into my lungs, burying my suspicion deep down. I couldn’t afford to be distracted right now.Ethan had crossed the territorial boundary tonight. If he kept throwing his unhinged tantrums out here in the open, the disciplinary committee wouldn't just penalize him…they’d ultimately kick me out as well. And I needed to stay in this wing."Ethan, look at me," I said, keeping my voice low, laced w

  • Too Late, Alpha: I Choose Your Rival   Ch 39: Did I Make A Mistake?

Kael’s POV:"Kael?"I pulled back from the voice, but my jaw locked tight as I blinked through the haze in my head. Right in front of me, Jane stood, her dark brows pulled together in immediate, sharp concern. Before I could take a step past her, her fingers locked around my forearm."Your face is bright red," she said, her voice dropping into a low grumble. She reached up, her knuckles brushing near my cheekbone. "You're soaking in sweat. Are you okay? Did you drink too much tonight?"~ ‘Push her off.’ Thunder, my inner Lycan, growled deep in my chest, in a dark, restless rumble as his claws scraped against my ribs. ‘Get away from her, now. Go to Elisa, pull her away from that rabid dog!’I exhaled with a long, ragged breath when I dragged her palm away from my face. I needed an exit fast before Thunder would become further restless. "Headache," I muttered, my voice rough. "I guess…it’s just... a hangover.""A hangover?" Jane blinked, with a sudden, soft look easing the tension in
