What Have You Done?!

Lara's POV

“Your lies weren't enough and now you're trying to blame poor Ria? She doesn't even know what we're talking about. Must you be so shameless?” Gerald asked in annoyance and I gasped, shaking my head in disagreement.

There was no way the results would just disappear into thin air. Something was wrong.

“Gerald, you have to believe me—”

“Just leave. Use the time to clear your head and ask yourself if this is the right thing to do.” He muttered, making way for me to leave and I let out a sigh, wiping a lone tear that fell.

I walked out of the room and Gerald slammed it shut behind me as I slid to the ground, my back against the door.

How the hell did the results disappear if she didn't take them? Who else could it be if not her? She was back to destroy me and Gerald would let her because he was too obsessed with her to see she wasn't as innocent as she claimed.

Ria always knew how to make me the bad person in every story. Whenever she hurt me, she would also hurt herself, making it look like I was trying to pick on her. My parents grew to hate me because apparently, I was “jealous” of my own sister.

All I ever wanted was to be close to Ria. I always thought that having a sister meant having a best friend. But with Ria, everything was a competition. Until she became the favorite and I grew to hate her. Especially when she had my drink poisoned just to make sure I was out of the picture.

I sighed and got up, making my way to the guest room. I lay in it despite the dust and found myself coughing so hard that I teared up. I had to get up and rush outside to take a deep breath.

The other door opened and Gerald stepped out, a look of worry on his face when he noticed how hard I was coughing.

“You should have cleaned it when I asked you to.” He said and I scoffed, wiping my face gently. “I'm heading to the office. If you mess with Ria—”

“Of course. I won't mess with your beloved. You can be rest assured.” I muttered and he let out a sigh, staring at me for a moment.

He finally walked away and I stood by the door, watching him drive out of the house. I swallowed the lump in my throat and turned to return to the room when I noticed Ria standing in front of me.

I jolted at her figure in front of me and she chuckled, shaking her head in amusement as she circled around me like a predator watching her prey.

“Long time no see, dearest sister.” She cooed, flicking my hair with her fingers, and I closed my eyes to avoid doing something stupid. “Did you miss me? I really missed you. It was boring without you, who would I find to pick on for no reason if not you?”

“I don't have time for your games, Ria,” I muttered, moving to walk past her but she grabbed my arm and held me back with a manic smile on her face.

“But I want you to have time for me!” She whined like a child. “What do you think of my entrance? Was it grand?”

“I don't care, Ria—”

“I faked my accident yesterday and made someone call Gerald to come get me. I was so surprised to see him show up in less than ten minutes. I had no idea he was still so obsessed and in love with me.” She giggled as she spoke, watching me. “I actually thought you would have taken him from me. After all, you're a fool who would do anything for love. But you couldn't make him love you even after three years. What a shame.”

“I don't have the time for this, Ria. Are you happy that he's still in love with you? That's great. I wish you both happiness. Now let me go.” I said, trying to pull my hand out of her grip but she tightened her hand instead.

“I would be happy if you weren't pregnant, bitch.” She spat and my eyes widened. “That's right. I took the results and hid them. How sad, you're actually dying soon and your husband doesn't even believe it. I mean, you've always been an attention seeker.” She continued, giggling in amusement and my eyes watered in despair.

“Why did you come back? What do you intend to gain from doing all this to me? All I've ever done is try to be a good sister to you. I've tried to love you but you just want to get rid of me. Why?” I asked in genuine confusion, my heart sinking at the thought of her trying to mess with me again.

“Because you don't deserve to be happy.” She spat, her expression changing into one of hatred. “You shouldn't even exist. I was going to return to end you as I tried to years ago. But hey, you're dying soon. Isn't that a win-win?”

“Let me go,” I said but she grinned, shaking her head. “Seriously, Ria. Just let me go. I don't care anymore.”

“But I care!” She yelled, pushing me to the ground and I groaned in pain. “I'm going to make every part of your life miserable and no one will believe you.”

Her feet came in contact with my stomach and I let out a cry of pain as I curled into a ball immediately. Ria was insane and she would kill me if I didn't stop her.

She raised her feet again but I immediately stopped it with my hands. That was a big mistake because she immediately stomped her leg on the ground, almost breaking my fingers as I cried out in pain.

“You bitch. Trying to take what belongs to me, huh? I'll make you suffer.” She cackled as she kicked my stomach again. And again until I couldn't protect myself anymore.

My hands felt numb, and my stomach hurt as if I had just been run over by a truck. I raised my head and saw that she had a knife in her hands, causing my heart to sink.

She was going to try to kill me.

With all the strength I had in me, I pushed myself off the ground.

“Don't do this, please—” I froze when I saw her draw the knife over her skin, drawing blood and my eyes widened. “What are you doing?”

“You hate me, don't you? You want me dead, don't you?”

“Stop talking nonsense!” I yelled as I tried to make her stop. “Just put the damn knife down.”

Even with my hurting hand, I managed to grab the knife from her but she was bleeding from the cuts all over her shoulders. She was a psycho.

My vision was blurring so I leaned against the wall, not wanting to pass out. Until I heard a car drive back into the building and I froze.

Suddenly, Ria screamed so loud that I had to close my ears and Gerald came rushing into the house immediately. Ria suddenly collapsed but Gerald was quick to catch her as she went unconscious.

Gerald glanced at her body covered in blood, then at me, then at the knife in my hands.

No.

“What have you done?”

RIAPain. That was the first thing I felt when I opened my eyes. For a few seconds, I didn't know where I was. My head throbbed, and a sharp pain ran through my side every time I tried to breathe. I blinked several times, trying to make sense of the darkness around me.Then I remembered. The car.Daniel.The road. The crash.I tried to move my arm, but something was pressing against it. When I looked down, I realized I was still trapped inside the car.The vehicle had overturned.Broken glass covered the seats and dashboard, while smoke drifted through the cabin and made my eyes sting. Somewhere nearby, something was leaking, and the faint smell of gasoline filled the air."Daniel?"My voice came out barely above a whisper.I turned toward the driver's seat.Daniel was slumped over the steering wheel. Blood ran from a cut on his forehead and disappeared beneath his hair."Daniel?"He didn't move.I stared at him for a moment, unsure whether I should be relieved or worried. He had trie

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    Daniel

RIAI sat rigidly in the passenger seat, staring at the unfamiliar phone in my hand. My fingers were still trembling from everything that had happened, but the messages on the screen had nothing to do with the shaking. They had frozen me in place. Devil was alive. Somehow, despite the bullet I had fired into his side, he was alive, and he had managed to get this phone into my possession without me even realizing it."Ria?" Daniel called, glancing at me from behind the steering wheel. "Are you okay?"I looked at him, but the question seemed impossible to answer. How could I tell him that the man who had kidnapped me was already contacting me? How could I explain any of this without sounding insane? I looked down at the phone again, hoping the messages would somehow disappear, but they remained exactly where they were."I'm fine," I finally whispered.Daniel gave me a skeptical look. "You don't look fine.""I just need a hospital."The moment I said it, I realized how badly I needed one

RIAI ran until my lungs felt as though they were going to burst. I had no idea where I was going, and at that point, I didn't care. All that mattered was putting as much distance as possible between myself and Devil, his men, and that horrible room.My footsteps echoed through the narrow corridor as I stumbled forward, one hand pressed against the wall to keep myself upright. The gun was still clutched in my other hand, and when I looked down at it, my fingers began to tremble. There was blood on them. His blood.I swallowed hard as the realization settled over me again. I had shot him. I had actually pulled the trigger.A door appeared ahead, and I rushed toward it, grabbing the handle with desperate hope. It didn't move."Locked."I twisted it again, harder this time, but nothing happened.Behind me came the sound of shouting."Find her!""She's somewhere in the building!""Check every room!"My heart slammed against my ribs. They were coming for me.I looked around desperately and

  • Too Late To Get Me Back, Husband    Good Morning.

RIAThe first thing I felt when I opened my eyes was something cold brushing against my leg.I froze. For a few seconds, I couldn't understand what I was feeling. My head was heavy, and everything around me was dark. My wrists ached, and when I tried to move them, I realized they were tied tightly behind my back. Then something moved against my ankle.Slowly, I looked down.A pair of pale eyes stared back at me from the darkness. My breath caught in my throat.A snake.I jerked backward instinctively, but there was nowhere to go. My shoulders slammed against the wooden wall behind me, and the movement caused several other shapes to stir around my feet. There wasn't just one. There were several."No..."My voice came out as a broken whisper.I looked around frantically, trying to make sense of where I was. I was inside a wooden box barely large enough for me to sit upright. The walls were rough, and the only light came through several narrow openings near the top.Snakes crawled across

RIAWhen I opened my eyes, pain greeted me before anything else.It wasn't the sharp kind that came from a single wound. It was everywhere, deep and relentless, crawling through every inch of my body until even breathing felt like a punishment. My head throbbed violently, sending pulses of agony through my temples, and I squeezed my eyes shut again, hoping the darkness would somehow make it disappear. For several seconds, I didn't move. I was too afraid to.Where was I?Slowly, I forced my eyes open and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above me. The room was dimly lit, with heavy curtains drawn across the windows and only thin rays of sunlight slipping through the gaps. The faint hum of an air conditioner filled the silence, making the room feel strangely peaceful despite the terror slowly building inside me.I tried lifting my hand.Something tugged against my wrist. My brows furrowed in confusion as I looked down, and the moment I saw the restraint wrapped tightly around my wrist,

RIA I immediately pulled out my phone and called the men I had hired, hoping one of them would answer and tell me they had already found Lara. The call rang until it disconnected, so I tried again. Then a third time. Still nothing. “Pick up, damn it!” I snapped, gripping the steering wheel as I called another number. “What the hell is wrong with you people?” No one answered. Frustration burned through me. They had taken my money, promised they would handle Lara, and now that she had escaped, they had suddenly disappeared. I couldn't even call the police and report her missing. What would I tell them? That I had hired people to find her? That I knew exactly why she had disappeared? I would only be putting myself in danger. I tossed my phone onto the passenger seat and leaned back, breathing heavily. My head was throbbing from everything that had happened in the last few hours. Gerald was in police custody, Lara was somewhere out there, and the people I had trusted to solve my prob
