"Where have you been? Why are you coming home this late?"

Aviannah was startled when she heard her father's angry voice. Because of that, she forced herself to stand up straight, even though she felt dizzy from the alcohol she had consumed at the party she had just come from.

She took a deep breath before slowly turning to face her father.

"Answer me, Aviannah," her father demanded again.

She cleared her throat and parted her lips, ready to make an excuse—to lie. "I'm with my friends—"

"You're with your friends? What kind of friends are they? The ones you skip class with?" he interrupted angrily.

"What?" she asked, furrowing her brows.

"Do you think I don’t hear about the things you’ve been doing? I was told that all you do is skip your classes. You only attend the ones you feel like going to."

"Wow. Since when did you start caring about what I do?" She couldn’t hold back her words and snapped at her father.

"What?!" She could clearly see the rage in his eyes.
