Amelia's POV

I was sure that if my heart raced any further than this, I was going to have a heart attack.

Perhaps I had heard wrong when Damien said, mate. Maybe he was not referring to me when he had said that.

I knew what mates were because of how starry-eyed the maids usually went when they gossiped about the supernatural world and all of its fantasies.
