Listening to your parents arguing about you or because of you wasn't such a good thing. But knowing that you stood your ground and didn't back down outweigh any feeling of guilt.

The heavy weight on my shoulders had finally eased. A lot. I hadn't realized it was even there until I stood up for myself. As soon as I entered my room, everything just felt easier. lighter even.

There was no pressure anymore. Because finally, I wouldn't allow him or her to pressure me. Not now, not anymore, not ever.

I sighed and switched on the TV to drown out their yells that came from downstairs. They were loud and didn't seem to want to lower their loud tones anytime soon. I wasn't really interested in the show that was on, couldn't even focus but at least it drowned them out a little.

I should've felt guilty for starting the argument but I didn't. Was I a bad person for even admitting that?

Falling on my back I peeked at the TV between my feet
