Chapter 3

ผู้เขียน: Chestnut Bunny
I stared at the shattered glasses on the floor and smiled with satisfaction.

Every time Noah mocked me with his fake politeness, he'd adjust those gold-rimmed glasses. He looked refined on the outside, but he was actually rotten to the core.

I'd hated him for a long time.

After taking down two grown men in a row, I collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.

The readers completely lost it in the comments section.

"Isn't this supposed to be a toxic romance story? Why did I walk into a slaughter scene? Did I open the wrong story?"

"You didn't. Aria just evolved. The original plot's gone. Looks like she's doing her own thing now."

"That's my girl! She believes in an eye for an eye. Payback feels good," one commenter wrote. "I hadn't even figured out who the two male characters were, and she already killed them both."

"While everyone's arguing, she's already dug a hole and buried the bodies."

"That execution speed is insane."

"This is so satisfying. My algorithm should take notes and start recommending more stuff like this."

"What's wrong with her? I liked Noah the most, and now he's dead! She's insane. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't have even had a chance with a man like Henry."

"She's dead for sure. She killed Henry right at the start. Have you ever heard of the butterfly effect? The world's going to collapse, and her ending will be even worse."

"In the original story, Aria dies, and everyone else goes on to live happily ever after, albeit with some regret. So when she dies, everything's fine. But when Henry dies, the world collapses? Does only his life matter?"

"It's over. Her downfall's coming. The plot will correct itself. Her adoptive father married her off to the Johnston family for a huge price. Now that Henry's dead, he'll just sell her off again."

"Serves her right. She didn't want a rich and handsome guy like Henry. Well, now she's getting sold to the crippled old man next door, Geoffrey Parker."

After a while, my phone started buzzing nonstop.

I answered the call. A middle-aged man's excited voice came through. "Aria, your brother's getting married soon. Pack your things and come home for the wedding. Make sure you dress nicely."

The comments sounded just as excited.

"Here it comes! The new plotline after the correction. Once she goes back, she'll be forced into marrying Geoffrey."

"Honestly, she's lucky. All she needs to do is have a kid right away, and the whole village will envy her."

"The author's pretty generous for making her that fertile."

"No, don't go back!" one of the comments exclaimed. "That village traffics people of all ages. They're ruthless. Anyone who is taken there never escapes. Why would she go back?"

"What are you yelling for? Do you think she can see your comments? She brought this on herself by rejecting Henry."

The next second, a gleaming dagger tore through the air and stabbed straight into the comments.

The words "have a kid right away" shattered like glass.

I tilted my head up where the comments had been. In a steady voice with a sharp smile, I declared, "I'm going back. I've already killed two people. What's a few more going to do?"

The comments exploded.

"Wait, she can see our comments?"

"My girl! Look at me!"

"Don't be naive. Henry was drugged, and Noah was ambushed. That's the only reason she pulled it off. Does she really think she can win? That village is filled with strong, unemployed men. I don't even want to imagine how badly she'd die if she goes back."

"Just another brain-dead female lead walking straight to her demise."

"They've already set the trap. She should be running, yet she's entering the lion's den herself."

"Let's see what happens to her."

At the peak of my anger, a mechanical voice suddenly rang out beside my ear. "Help! What's going on? Why is my mission falling apart? Why is the female lead's anger level so high? No! My perfect world is collapsing on me!"A figure calling itself "the System" spun around me in a panic."What are you doing? This world is about to break because of you!" it screamed. "I carefully picked this perfect script just for you. Aren't you supposed to love it?"Amid its frantic rambling, I finally understood that the world I lived in wasn't real. It was a cliché CEO romance novel. Before I died in my life, I had saved someone and earned boundless merit. Because of that, I was given a chance to enter a story and live a happy, fulfilling life. The System's job was to help me choose a script. It had to be a life where I could be happy."Let me show you the options you originally had. The one you're in now was handpicked by yours truly. It's the best one."The System pulled out a script. "The f

ExtraMy name was Aria.As far back as I could remember, it had always just been my dad and my younger brother at home.Everyone told me that my mom was greedy and abandoned us for another man. From a young age, they taught me that a woman should be gentle, obedient, and considerate. Most importantly, they told me that I should never be like my mom. I should never chase money, and I had to work hard for the family.Yet, in the end, they sold me off for a price and forced me to marry Henry, the man who had violated me.I cried and struggled. I never loved him. They counted the money greedily and lectured me. "Stop being childish, Aria. When it comes to marriage, you should find a wealthy man who can support you. Feelings won't feed you."I couldn't understand why they were doing the opposite of everything they had taught me growing up.Something deep down told me that I had to run.I remembered running from the wedding, but somehow, I was back at the ceremony the next moment.

The family threw me a grand welcome dinner. To avoid gossip, they never mentioned anything about Willow. Instead, they told everyone that I'd been sick abroad since childhood. Now that I'd recovered, I was finally back home.Willow and I had no objections.Flynn, on the other hand, wasn't happy about it.At the height of the dinner, he stepped into the center of the hall. Then, he projected my DNA test results onto the big screen. His tone was gentle. It sounded like he really was a caring older brother."Aria has been away since she was young. Now that she's finally back, she may not be fully familiar with proper etiquette. I'll apologize on her behalf and ask for everyone's understanding," he began."As for Willow, while she isn't biologically related to us, she's been with the family for years. Blood or not, she's one of us. We didn't plan to make this public, but secrets can't stay buried forever. Rather than letting rumors spread later on, it's better to be open about it no

Once everything had been taken care of, I said goodbye to the young woman and returned to the city to find my biological dad.In the original plot, after marrying Henry, I would attend high-society events, run into my real dad, and smoothly return to my wealthy family. Now that Henry was dead, I had to find my own way to secure a powerful backer."Here we go! My favorite drama scene is here! Aria really knows how to ruin her own chances. Henry would've protected her when the fake heiress, Willow, bullied her. Now that she killed him, she's just waiting to be crushed.""The storyline's self-correcting again. Aria and Willow were supposed to fight over Henry. Now that he's gone, they're going to compete over Willow's brother, Flynn Keating.""Flynn grew up with Willow. Even without blood ties, he's obviously going to favor her. Aria's in for a rough time.""At least Aria had some advantage when it came to Henry. Now she's got nothing.""Serves her right. She didn't want a rich, ha

After successfully drugging the villagers and freeing everyone locked in the cellar, I returned to the village alone.I poured gasoline along the perimeter and set it all on fire.In the middle of the blaze, a child wrapped in wet clothes came stumbling toward me.He looked about seven or eight years old. He had a round face and a gentle voice. He looked at me timidly, then suddenly dropped to his knees. "Miss… are you here to help put out the fire? Please save me. I'm begging you."His frightened, innocent expression made me take a step back instinctively. After a moment's thought, I held out a dagger and a piece of candy."Here, pick one."Without hesitation, the boy grabbed the candy. He smiled up at me with childlike innocence. "I want the candy. Thank you, miss." "What is she doing? She isn't eliminating loose ends but handing out candy instead? Did she hit her head somewhere?" a comment read."Has she lost it? That kid just saw her start the fire.""That kid's clearly

The woman was dragged away with her mouth clamped shut.Meanwhile, I calmly pulled out several cartons of cigarettes from my bag under the watchful eyes of the villagers.I handed them out one by one. Then, I took out a stack of cash and shoved it straight into my dad's hands.Once I was done, Dad basked in the villagers' envious stares as he proudly brought me home. The old me had always been naive. I was the perfect blood bag for the family. I'd worked multiple jobs back-to-back, scraping together every cent I could just to send money back home. Now, all those years of sacrifice were proof of my loyalty. In their eyes, a daughter who'd been trained to be a blood bag would never rebel.Bearing that trust, I blended in as one of them and joined the preparations for the village dinner. As we passed by the cellar, I caught sight of innocent yet terrified eyes. There were so many people inside. Both women and children.Dressed in ill-fitting new clothes, they huddled together

I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed 911, but the line was busy. I couldn't get through at all.I tried calling the number several times, but it yielded the same result each time. Finally, the number itself showed up as invalid.I stared at the screen, stunned. Was this even possible?Comme

As I struggled to breathe under Henry Johnston's grip, a flood of comments suddenly filled my vision."The 'drugged male lead with dubious consent' scene is finally here," one read."Yes, this is it! After this, he'll assume Aria drugged him. That's when the whole abuse arc begins. He has no idea

I had just reached the village entrance when a young woman with delicate features came stumbling toward me."Help me!" she screamed in terror. "You have to run! This village traffics people. They've captured a group of us. We're locked in a cellar. Don't fall for it. I can't run anymore. Quick, cal
