Chapter Twelve : Punishment Or Seducing

I walk back to the house.

I can't deny the fact that Mahone sings well, the song was thoughtful and meaningful. Yet I don't really know him, because Lynn never told me about his brother. Again, why he would tell me some basic truths.

I pass the dancing people, getting myself another drink and it felt good. I know that sometimes drinking helps to ease away all the emotional pain. Likewise, I agree with whoever first said and did that.

I throw the used cup in the bin and take another one, thinking what I could use instead of vodka. I roam my eyes at all the bottles placed on the table, because Maria always has a good collection of drinks ( from her father's cabinet, easy guess ).

Strawberry Daiquiri? No, this cocktail makes my mouth sweet, don't like much. A margarita sour mix would be good and I crack the bottle open, then pour the glass. I turn and suddenly notice Emilia and Jack on a couch, shagging.

"Whoah!" I exclaim, then take a gulp. I pat him on his shoulder, "Find a room, buddy."

Of course, they don't seem to hear me.

I laugh and think about what to do next. Yeah, climbing up to the rooftop by the windows might be a great idea. Isn't it?

Suddenly the lights start flickering.

Seriously, load shedding now?

I lean against a wall and the whispers of people together hit me after a second. I didn't realize before that darkness can be scary when you're with a bunch of high school students in a beach house. I put down the glass on something, as I can't see in dark.

Some stupid has started to make horror screams, whispers, like actors do at the movies. I quickly pull my mobile phone from the pocket and switch on the flashlight.

"It's okay, guys!" I hear Maria shouts, then find her standing in the middle of the room, holding a big torch. "Just stay where you are, generator will be on within a minute," at least the host looks sober. "And stop making the disgusting sounds, jocks!" she adds hastily.

"How dare you call my group jocks, you angry, bad behaving freak!" A guy shouts back from the back, and yeah, it was Michael.

"So, I'm told," Maria smiles in reply. "I'll deal with you later, Michael Jock."

Oh, I don't think the generator is gonna be on, as I looked outside at the other houses in this private property, only her house's power is off. There's something must be wrong.

I quietly leave the room, holding my phone out and walk to the basement. I don't know this house well, but I went to the basement once and it's pretty enough for me to remember where the circuit breakers are.

I open the unlocked door of the basement, then enter in. It looks like the bulbs of here it's alright, as they are on, so I send my phone back to my pocket. I reach to the breakers and open the small door, examining them. All breakers are in the 'On' side, none of them is in the 'Off' side, so I turn off the main breaker and switch it back on.

"Looks like you need a new breaker."

I flinch, turning behind.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you," he holds his palms up, giving a sudden smile.

"Mahone Vandestine," I don't like the look of his eyes, cold and unreadable. "What are you doing here?"

He casually puts his hands in his pockets, stepping slowly towards me, watching me. "Samlin Greenham. You switched on the main breaker back, but the electricity is still off, everybody's freaking out. You're a very bad electrician, you know?"

"Shut up," I frown and tilt my head to the board. "Maria quickly needs to call someone from the power company, to replace a new one and I think I'm drunk, so I gonna go...." I move back and suddenly exhale sharply.

He's dangerously close to me, his both hands placed the side of my head on the wall, his face inches from mine, I can feel the touch of his body, his icy gray eyes focused on mine.

"You're not going anywhere," he speaks in a low, calm voice, yet it sounded so strong. "Do whatever you wanna do, scream or push me and run or fight me, because I don't care."

"What do you want?" I'm not afraid.

Before I say or do anything, he grabs my both hands by his right hand and harshly push them against the wall of over my head.

"Aghh!" I groan, twisting my hands to free from his grasp, but he's pressing his whole body into mine. "Let go of me, Mahone."

"It must have felt good, you know," he ignores me, gazing at me coldly. "Pushing me from the top of a 500m hill, watching my dumb look." He moves his lips to my ear, "So many people have been injured, stuck in a hospital or an deserted room for a month, two, hell even a year, because of doing less than you did. And trust me, I'm stronger than you."

"Now what? You want to punish me?"

He chuckles, then slowly his left hand reaches to my ear, to tuck some loose hair behind. I jerk my head from his touch, but he cups my chin up, to look at his dark eyes.

"No, not like this," his thumb barely brushes my collarbone, the sense was warm and gentle. He whispers, "Not when your soft body is pressing against mine, so I can feel your rhythmic heart beats by my chest. Not when," he tilts to my ear, "You're hearing my whispers, the waves of my voice vibrating through your every nerve." He lips touch my neck, "Not when I can smell you so close, touch the smooth, flawless flesh of your neck by my lips, where the blood is flowing swiftly through arteries, make you shiver as it's coming from your toes." His fingers press to my chest, over my heart, "Not when, this heart is beating like crazy under your skin, flesh and knowing I'm causing this."

A low moan escapes from my parted lips.

He gives up my hands from his grip and I involuntarily put them either side of my body, feeling his muscled thighs, my eyelashes close with pleasure of his words, feeling his mint breath, smelling his cologne.

"What do you want to do to me, then?" I open my eyes slowly, remaining close to him.

Am I drunk? What am I doing?

He presses me harder against the wall, his gray, almost colorless eyes darkening. "I want to rip your clothes off in this very moment, grip you so tightly that you shake under me spontaneously, kiss every inch of naked flesh until you scream my name, Sam."

I'm breathing heavily, I can't think straight.

Then he releases me. "But I won't."

What? No, what is he doing?

"What do you mean?"

Mahone gives me a sudden smile, then pulls the fuse of the switchboard in this basement.

"Learn your lesson," he breaks the bad breaker and place the fuse as an alternative. "Learn about me, Sam."

The light goes off.

He leaves the basement.

I clench my fist, scolding myself badly. I'm feeling so incredibly stupid and I think four pegs of drink made me drunk and I have no idea what the hell was going on here for five minutes.

He fooled me. Is he kind of sicko who needs to get revenge because of a stupid pushing? What did I exactly expect then? That he would prove the words he said to me? Oh Jesus, I need a painless sleep and I need to go home and I need to not think about him.

"Mahone," I mutter quietly.
