Layover

Riley POV

By the time I got off my flight I was finally feeling better from what happened this morning. I couldn't seem to shake this fear that someone was going to grabbed me all day. I probably felt better because I had several around the world shots, but no one was complaining.

I settled into my hotel and decided to dress up a bit. I needed to feel good about myself. I'm a strong, confident, and independent woman. Darrel may have destroyed my career in New York, but he wasn't going to destroy myself esteem too.

I headed for dinner at a hip local place that drew a younger crowd. Halfway through my appetizer a group of women approached me. I wasn't sure how to react but figured I'm here less than 24 hours so I would just go with the flow.

"Hey my name is Sophia. You mind if we join you?" A blonde woman with a cute white dress asked.

I looked at the other two ladies who look like they could all be sister. "I guess. This is a little strange though."

"I told you this is crazy. Leave the poor woman alone." One of the girls told Sophia.

"No way Cassie." She said taking a seat next to me. They were definitely sisters. My curiosity was peaked now. What could these three sisters want from me?

"Ok, so the deal is." Sophia continued as she waved for a waiter to come by. "My brother just got his heart broken by some tramp. We are going to a club later and I want to bring you for him."

I nearly spit my wine out. Did this girl really just say that? I guess people are a little more forward in Chicago than New York.

"Soph, what is wrong with you? Please excuse our sister, she has been drunk since noon."

I couldn't help but giggle at how they all interacted with each other. I always wonder what it would be like to have a sibling. Someone that was the same but different and loved you no matter what.

"It's ok. I actually find this amusing. I do have to decline your offer though. I don't usually like to be pimped out by some stranger I just met."

Sophia laughed a little too hard. The waiter arrived and she immediately order shots all around. Well, I could entertain her a little longer I guess.

"I didn't mean you have to be with him. I just wanted you to meet him. You look lonely eating here all by yourself. You should come with us to the club and if you don't like my brother then we will just have a girls night out." Sophia took my wine glass but I grabbed it from her before she could take a sip.

"You are a bit of a lush, aren't you?" I said.

"She doesn't normally drink so much but once she starts we know it's going to be a long and wild night." Cassie rolled her eyes at her sister.

"My name is Kate, the youngest of the three. I've learned from Sophia not to drink until after 7. We really don't mean to bother you. It's just that once Soph sets out to do something we can't stop her."

"Stop acting like you two don't have fun with your big sister. I've always been the life of the party."

All three girls started bickering who was the worst drunk. They reminisced of the many times they each got wasted and the other had to bail them out. I don't know why but I enjoyed listening to them. Maybe I was even a little envious of them. I didn't have friends to tell tons of stories of all the times we acted foolish.

My past stories would be how I was mostly alone or how I studied all night to get that A or how my boss tried to rape me, can't forget that one.

This was the first time I really wanted to have a connection with other people. I knew we would never see each other again yet I couldn't resist and eventually agreed to go with them.

I made Sophia promise to eat dinner first hoping it would sober her up a bit. That may had worked except she order three more shots during our meal. Her sisters told me it was pointless but thanked me for trying. Sophia was going to drink until she threw up or passed out. I already figured out she has a pretty high tolerance so wasn't sure how long the night would be.

Sophia ended up paying the entire bill despite my pleas not to, then we headed to some club the girls were raving about. It was an exclusive members only place which had me a little nervous. I wasn't sure if this was such a good idea but I had one night to let lose and live. I prayed I didn't ended up dying or wake up with a kidney missing. My need for an adventure and connection to others was becoming pathetic.

"Barry! Barry! Get over here you hunk." Sophia called out to who I gathered was her brother. She gave him a big huge then a sloppy kiss on his cheek.

"I can see you're already wasted big sis."

"She started at 10 am." Cassie replied giving him a hug before Kate grabbed him.

"Missed you little sis. How has college been treating you?" He asked her and she went on for a few minutes how much she loved it. I assume it was her first year away from home.

I couldn't help but gush over how cute they all were with each other. It's too late to get any sibling but maybe one day I could have a big family like there's.

"Barry meet my good friend Riley, Ri for short. She is funny, smart, and absolutely sexy. Oh and single." Sophia hung on my shoulder then shot her brother a wink.

"Soph!" We both yelled in shock. She promised she wouldn't make this weird.

"Sorry, my sister can be a bit much. It's nice to meet you though." He said holding out his hand. My eyes ran over his soft features. He was also blond with a lean build. Definitely cute but there was something about him I couldn't quite place.

"It's fine. I think she is hilarious. Nice to meet you too." I shook his hand giggling at his sister.

"You both love me and you know." Sophia pointed to us then got right in my face. "You know, I know things, Ri." Her alcohol breath fanned across my face and I tried not gagging. She was so wasted.

"Enough Soph. Leave her alone." Barry's voice turned stern and it was a little scary. They stared at each other seeming to have a private conversation.

"Fine!" Sophia finally said. I had no idea what she was agreeing to but I bet it was to stop playing matchmaker.

"Well this has gotten awkward. Why don't we dance." I grabbed Sophia hand and she was more then happy to follow but Barry pulled her back.

"Why don't we dance and my sisters can get Soph some water."

"Yes, that would be perfect. Go have fun Ri." Cassie said.

It was all a little weird but I wasn't going to press to much. Barry gave me a sweet smile then led me to dance floor. We started moving to the music and I was surprised how well he danced. His body was nice but something about the way he swayed his hips was very sexy.

We danced close but he was never inappropriate which was a little disappointing. I didn't want him full on groping me, but he seemed completely uninterested. I'm not going to lie it was a bit of a blow to my ego.

Two men started dancing next to us and that definitely caught his eye. I started praying he was not some homophob that was going to start a fight. After a few minutes we all somehow started dancing closer and Barry was getting more excited. It took an entire song for me to finally realize he was gay.

"So I'm guessing this chick that broke your heart was actually a guy?" I whispered in his ear as I kept dancing.

"What?"

"They way you're looking at those men I can tell it's turning you on. Plus your lack of interest in me." I raised my eyebrows at him.

He laughed then spun me around making me giggle. "A bit conceited are you. If a man is not interested, he must be gay, huh?" He teased.

"No, it's not like that. I'm right though? I won't tell your sisters, I promise."

"Maybe. I plead the fifth." He twirled me into him making me laugh again. He was a really good dancer.

He looked over to his sisters "Fuck Soph!"

I quickly followed his eyes and saw his sister fighting with two other women. That girl was crazy when she was drunk. I wondered if she was like this sober too.

"I'm sorry I have to go help her. She really shouldn't had brought you here." Barry reached in his pocket and took out a hundred to give me. "Please call a ride and leave. You shouldn't be here alone. Shit! I have to go." He tried giving me the money but I refused.

"I have money, it's ok. Go take care of your sister. I'll be fine."

He reluctantly left me on the dance floor rushing over to the cat fight. He was able to grab Sophia's hand right before she bashed a bottle over another girl's head. I stood there watching them feeling almost as if I would miss them. I'm probably making them seem better then they are. I think we could had all been close friends if I actually lived here.

Kate grabbed all their stuff while Barry and Cassie were able to drag Sophia out of the club. For a skinny chick she was abnormally strong. After they all left my sight I looked around at the people dancing. I could stay a bit but I felt uncomfortable being here all by myself.

I went to walk back to the booth to grab my coat when strong arms wrapped around me from behind.

"Are you going somewhere gorgeous?" A rough masculine voice hit my ears and sent a shiver straight down my spine.

"Didn't see anything worth staying for." I replied tilting my head to catch a glimpse of this arrogant man.

I've seen a lot of handsome men before but this man was like nothing I've seen before. A few pieces of his raven black hair fell over his hypnotic golden brown eyes that were locked on my lip.

I was planning on pulling away to tell this creep to take a hike yet somehow my mind crossed signals with my body and I reached up to feel those soft lips on mine.

His mouth instantly responded, drawing me in deeper. He turned me around then slid his hand up my back pulling me closer to his body. My fingers lightly caressed his deep tan skin up and down his neck as he devoured everything I gave him. I could feel every hard ridge of his chest against mine and it made me moan in need.

This man knew what he was doing and the second I moaned out from his touch he took the opportunity to slid his large tongue over mine. The way he caressed ever inch of my mouth with pure dominance had me pooling. Thank god he couldn't tell how incredibly turned on I was right now.

"Let's find somewhere more quite to finish this." His finger lightly brushed my chin as his eyes roamed over my face. I felt like he was examining me and prayed I was just as perfect to him as he was to me.

I nodded yes. Then as he pulled me off the dance floor my senses kicked back in. I pulled him back to stop us from moving towards the exit. "Wait. This is crazy. I don't even know your name."

My brain was telling me this was not a good idea even though my body was screaming to follow him anywhere he wanted. If I was even half drunk I would probably let him take me right here in front of everyone. There was this overwhelming power about him that drew me in and I didn't know how to walk away.

"Liam, you want to get a drink first?" He said with a smirk. Oh he was good. He knew he could have anyone and wasn't hiding it one bit.

"Yes, that would be a good start, Liam." I smiled at him trying to hold my confidence and not just beg him to bring me home to destroy every inch of my body. God what was this man doing to me. He had to be a witch or hired someone to spell him. There was no way one person could be this irresistible.
