“Okay, snap from it,” Nova said, waving his hand in front of my face. “Kieran, let’s go back and continue our meal.”

“Yeah… yeah,” i muttered, forcing myself to breathe normal.

We turned toward our table

And the universe said nah.

I bumped into someone who was holding a tray. The tray went flying, flipping like it hit slow-motion mode rice scatterred on the tiles, sauce splashing across my shoes, a drink rolling away like it was trying to escape the embarrassment.

“Damn my bad,” I said, dropping down instantly. “I didn’t you coming.”

Before i could even touch the spilled food.

A voice stabbed into my ear.

Loud. Sharp. Annoying as hell.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” the person snapped. “Are you stupid?! You just ruined my lunch!”

I froze.

I didn’t lift my head right away. My brain held me still, like it was checking if my ears were lying.
