Dante’s POV

Marco stepped into the room with the island doctor, who was holding a box I believed contained all the equipment he would be needing to treat her.

I stood up, taking three steps backward to give the doctor the chance to attend to her. For a moment, I noticed both of them didn’t move. Their faces wore readable expressions, a look that said they caught me in the act.

“Hmm.” I coughed to cut off whatever they were thinking upstairs.

“Boss, the doctor is here,” Marco informed politely.

Dante POVI shot at the center of the board repeatedly until the board tore apart. The sound of the gunshot echoed in my head each passing second, but I cared less.My mind was troubled, too occupied with her smile that invaded every space in my mind and replayed as a picture on my retina.Since the day I saved her from drowning, I hadn’t stopped thinking about her, or maybe it had started a long time ago and I had just gotten noticed.I longed to see her each day I was out for work and hurriedly wanted to come back just to see her smile and smell her scent in the room.I had blamed these whole feelings on Lucien, but deep down, I knew I felt for her just the same way Lucien did.But I had questioned myself, why? That answer, I’ve got no answer to, as Lucien had decided to keep mute every freaking time I asked. My hands pressed hard on the trigger as I released another bullet into the board again. My mind lingered on how I had kissed her softly on the bed and how she had responded alm

Aurora POVTwo days, I’ve been in Dante’s room, doing absolutely nothing other than sleeping and eating. He wouldn’t allow me to step out as he claimed I hadn’t fully recovered from the cold.I smiled, remembering how Dante had been so nice towards me. He had made sure I took my drugs, made sure I ate early, and even squeezed out time from his busy schedule to check on me.Talk of the devil, he walked in, carrying his gun while placing it in a box I had known to be his favorite. I stared at the guns without any atom of fear. I mean, I had seen a lot of them around, so it wasn’t something that scared me anymore.“How are you feeling today, stubborn Aurora?” Dante sat in the small space on the bed after pulling off his jacket.“I am fine now, really, really fine,” I said, stretching out my muscles. He chuckled softly, something I had found him doing lately.“You can go visit your friend at the worker quarters today…” Dante was still saying when I cut him short with a hug.“Thank you!” I

Isabel’s POVDante dived into the ocean to save Aurora. The words rang in my head with every passing minute.I had thought the guards were lying, thinking it was one of their excuses to justify their mistakes. But then, the guards had no reason to lie, especially not to me. They knew well I won’t think twice before slicing their tongues off.My mind was still uncertain about the news when Dante passed by with Aurora in his arms, hurrying like she was someone he couldn’t risk losing. My heart broke. Embarrassment swept through my veins as the crowd who had gathered looked at me pathetically.Their silence soon turned into murmurs, then gossip before they dispersed.“Nooooo…” I yelled, my hand smashing my expensive perfume bottle against the glass as I remembered how shameful that was.My hands gripped the mirror stand as I stared at my reflection through the broken glass.“That bitch,” I gritted. “Why can’t she just receive her punishment?”Did she have to involve Dante every single ti

  • Trapped In The Mafia Wolf Island   Chapter 18

Dante’s POVThe fear in her eyes made me feel bad. For years, I had always instilled fear in people, always liked when my aura scared everyone around me.But with her, it was different. For some unknown reason, I wanted to be her safe space, wanted her to call me by my name, wanted her to talk to me freely like she did with Luca.“What the hell are you doing here?” she shouted. My head rang. Was she being serious right now? Didn’t she look around and see whose room she was in, or had the water gotten into her brain too?“This is my room,” I scoffed. Her eyes looked around hastily as the words registered in her brain. A look of recognition settled on her face, and the expression that was once furious became a little calmer. She looked at her body, and when she saw she wasn’t wearing her previous wet clothes, her brows raised again.“Did you change my dress?” she asked. Was that even a question to ask? She would have frozen to death if she hadn’t gotten changed.“Yes, to make you…”“Who

His eyes settled on Aurora’s unconscious body lying on my sacred bed. He held a look of surprise, one that was very obvious. For all the years he had been on the island, he knew I had never summoned him to my room to treat anyone.Even when Isabel was sick, she was never treated in my room. All her treatment had always been in her apartment, and she

Aurora POVThe water wet my skin as I sank deeper into the bottom of the water. Coldness, that was the only thing I felt.I didn’t try to struggle for survival. I didn’t try to fight for my life. Maybe sinking this way was for the best.At least I would rest from Dante’s wrath and his mistress’ unlimited punishment.Maybe this was for the good, dying by no one’s hand.A strange calm settled within me as I accepted my fate.Surprisingly, the face of no one flashed through my mind. There weren’t any sweet memories to hold on to for my last moment. At that moment, I realized I had lived my life in pain.“I’m sorry,” I whispered within, with the last strength I had. “I’m sorry I never made our life look so happy,” I apologized to myself. My heart burned as I waited for my last breath to leave my soul, but that never came because I suddenly felt the water being disturbed. Then a strong arm wrapped around my waist so tightly. For a moment, I thought it was the angel of God coming to take me
