Axel

“Father has been begging, Mother,” I said quietly, breaking the heavy silence in the hospital room. “He keeps asking to at least speak to you. Just once. So he can explain himself. Don’t you think… don’t you think you might want to hear what he has to say?”

My mother didn’t respond at all.

She sat propped up against the hospital bed and slowly lifted the small porcelain teacup in her hand, taking a sip.

She didn’t look at me… not even once.

I exhaled slowly, rubbing my jaw in frustration.

VincentI slowly turned my head toward Sarah. She froze the moment our eyes met.Her fingers instinctively intertwined, clutching each other so tightly that her knuckles turned white. Her shoulders were stiff, and she deliberately avoided looking at me."So..." I said quietly, my voice calm. "You heard everything your son just said, didn't you? Tell me, Sarah... what exactly are your thoughts after hearing all of that?"She swallowed hard."Vincent... please..." Her voice came out much softer than usual, carrying a pleading tone that almost sounded desperate. "Please try to understand our son.""He... he was only hurt. You keep comparing him to Axel. No one likes being told they're not as good as someone else, especially by their own father. He was angry... that's why he said those things."She looked at me hopefully."He didn't really mean everything he said."She hesitated, her lips parting slightly before pressing together again, as though she were arguing with herself over whether

Vincent“Get your hands away from me!”My fingers wrenched free from Sarah's grip, and I quickly turned toward the door… It was already closed.Collette...My Collette was gone.A crushing ache spread through my chest—she had turned around and walked away without looking back. She hadn't even spared me a single glance.I could still see the emptiness in her eyes before she'd left, and that image cut deeper than any knife ever could.God… What have I done? How had I managed to hurt the woman I had loved with every piece of my soul? How had I become the very man who had destroyed the person who once trusted me more than anyone else?I had watched her cry and lose herself because of me. And now… she was gone. This time, I wasn't sure she'd ever come back."Vincent..."Sarah's voice pulled me back to reality. She cautiously moved closer again, her eyes already brimming with tears."How are you feeling now? Does your heart still hurt? Was... was it because of Collette? Did she upset you ag

  • Trapped To The Billionaire Devil   The Hand I Couldn't Hold

Collette Relief crashed over me so suddenly that fresh tears spilled down my cheeks."Oh, thank God... You're awake. I'll go call the doctor now."I immediately stood, but before I could take another step, his fingers weakly wrapped around my hand."Collette, please..." His voice came out hoarse. "Stay... don't go."The plea in his eyes stopped me. I slowly sat back down. For several moments, neither of us spoke. He simply looked at me as if afraid I would disappear if he blinked."I'm sorry." His voice was barely above a whisper. "I'm... so sorry, Collette."The regret in his eyes nearly shattered me."I should've told you. I should've trusted you. I hid Sarah and Aaron, foolishly convincing myself...""...that if I kept providing for them... if I made sure they were taken care of... everything would remain peaceful."He coughed weakly, resting for a brief moment before he continued."I thought... I could hide them forever. I believed... the truth would never come out."His eyes slo

ColletteThe car had barely rolled to a complete stop before I pushed the door open.I didn't even wait for the driver to come around as I rushed toward the hospital entrance, my heart pounding so violently that every beat seemed to echo inside my ears.Please...Please let him be alright.Lawrence's message kept replaying in my mind like a nightmare I couldn't escape.Vincent had another heart attack. Those five words had robbed me of every ounce of composure I had left. The automatic glass doors slid open, and I hurried inside, weaving through nurses, patients, and visitors. The sterile scent of antiseptic filled my lungs, making it harder to breathe. My hands trembled uncontrollably as I repeatedly pressed the elevator button. It felt too slow.Everything felt too slow. The moment the elevator doors opened on the VIP floor, I practically ran out. My eyes frantically searched the hal

  • Trapped To The Billionaire Devil   The World Turns Against Me

Aaron Mother pressed her fingers against her temples and sighed. “Aaron, please calm down. Your pacing is making me dizzy.” I stopped in my tracks so abruptly that my shoes scraped harshly against the floor. Calm down? I sharply turned to stare at her in disbelief before it turned into pure rage. “Calm down? How can you stand there and ask me to calm down?” She blinked, startled by the harshness of my voice. “You weren't there!” I roared. “You weren't standing where I was when I suffered the greatest humiliation of my entire life! You weren't there when that egocentric bastard, Mansur Bolkiah, looked me straight in the eyes and degraded me like I was worth absolutely nothing!” I clenched my fists until my fingernails dug painfully into my palms. “I spent three fucking days at that useless summit,” I continued, my voice trembling with fury. “Three entire days! I wen

Olivia I froze and sharply turned. The moment I saw who it was, I immediately let out a breath of relief. "Shawn?" He stood near the corner of the departmental building with his hands tucked into his pockets. "You scared me. When did you come outside?" He didn't respond and simply stared at me. His gaze narrowed slightly, as if waiting for an answer to his question. I folded my arms. "You need to learn how to mind your own business, Shawn." The words came out a bit sharper than intended, but I didn't take them back. My personal life was exactly that… personal. I wasn't obligated to explain myself to anyone. Shawn remained silent for another moment before finally looking away. I adjusted the strap of my handbag and changed the subject. "Are you ready for us to head to the company?"
