Aria returned to work after several days of recuperation at home. She strode to her desk in her stilettos after greeting some coworkers who were concerned enough to inquire about her health.

As she sat down, she realized she had not seen Nicholas. Unlike before, he would be one of the first to greet her.

She looked around and even stood to check his desk, but he was not present.

Where could he possibly be? She asked herself as she turned on her computer to start working.

Suddenly, she felt someone tap her from behind. She abruptly turned to see Nicholas with his usual smiley face.

“What are you hiding there?” she asked when she caught him concealing something behind his back.

“Ta-da!” he exclaimed, presenting her with the bouquet of pink peonies he had gotten for her.

Aria stared in amazement as she accepted the gift.

“You got this for me?” she asked, despite knowing it was for her.

Nicholas responded with a nod.

“I hear you twisted your ankle; are you better now?” He inquired.
