LOGINI swallowed back the sound, trying not to freak out and blow my cover. Kain’s hair was an absolute mess. There were claw scratches on his skin and I tried not to think about which girl had done it. He didn’t seem to care one bit that he was naked.
I gulped heavily, unable to tear my eyes away from him. The sight might be horrific but it was also… uhmm… delighting.
Kain’s naked body was art. He had bulging muscles in all the right places and his length, fuck! He was rock hard right now.
And he was standing in front of me like it was nothing. Was this normal in their world? What was I supposed to do? How was I supposed to act?
My mouth opened a few times but I couldn’t find my voice. I was too shocked. Too embarrassed. My cheeks were flaming hot.
“Wh-what are you doing here?” I finally said, forcing calmness into my voice, and he just shrugged.
“I couldn’t find my key card. I figured I could stay here before an attendant brings me another one.”
“Y-you… you are not wearing clothes.”
He looked down at himself as if he was only just realizing that. “Do you mind if I come in?”
Yes, I do absolutely fucking mind!
But Kain didn’t wait for me to agree before he walked inside my room.
Damn it. He was naked for goodness sake.
“Last night was absolutely terrific. Do you happen to have a shirt?” Kain asked, and I immediately began digging through my closet, praying I find something for him.
At the end, I only found an oversized worn out t shirt of mine and a baggy jeans which I quickly handed over to him, trying not to look at him.
Kain paused, lips stretching as he watched me. “Were you just sneaking looks at me, Nara?”
He stalked closer and the heat from his body made my cheeks burn. “Do you find me attractive?” He whispered and I replied through gritted teeth.
“No.”
“Liar. Most people find me attractive.”
“Most people. Not me.” I was getting defensive which was something liars tend to do a lot.
I didn’t look at him. I kept my gaze everywhere else but on him.
Kain chuckled darkly, creeping into my personal space. “You didn’t seem like the type to get shy.”
“Put on the damn clothes.” I snapped, breathing hard, unable to control the heat surrounding me.
“If I don’t?” He teased and when I caught his gaze, I saw just how much he was enjoying this.
“Unless you want me giving in to the temptation of pouncing on you.” I told him what he wanted to hear and Kain smirked, finally pulling away when the attendant knocked on the door.
“I think I might like that.” He winked at me, still holding the clothes I’d given him and walking naked to the door as the attendant handed him his card and he left.
I didn’t miss the way the attendant blushed when she saw him. Right. That was a normal reaction. Nothing weird.
She turned towards me and bowed slightly. “Miss Nara.” She stepped forward and then handed me a folded card. “You have a message.”
“Who is this from?” I frowned, turning it over and finding no name.
“He didn’t want me to say.” She told me and then left.
I opened the card and it read,
“I know what happened last night. If you don’t want me to tell everyone, come to the location here in an hour.”
My blood instantly ran cold. Sweat visibly broke out on my forehead and I found my legs weakening.
The note said he knows what happened last night. Who was he? What does he know? It could be anything. Or worse, it could be this secret I now carried with me. That I was human in the midst of werewolves.
My mind raced with several possibilities.
What do I do if I was caught? I didn’t want to die. Not here.
How was I supposed to handle this situation? Do I need to really meet him ? If I do, that would mean I really had something to hide but if I don’t, he might actually go on to execute his threat.
I paced around the room, biting my fingers nervously as I thought about what to do. I was tensed and absolutely terrified of what might happen next. I was restless.
I still had one hour left before I met whoever this person was.
I happened to catch the reflection of myself in the mirror. My hair was a mess. My clothes dirty. The result of all the crawling I’d done to hide from those monsters and it seemed like at some point I’d vomited over myself.
I must stink.
Trying to ease the tension I felt, I hurried to the bathroom, undressing on the way. I took a hot, long bath and when I was done, I’d already made up my mind on what I was going to do.
When our eyes jammed, he smiled, his gaze dropping to my fingers, to the one with the diamond ring on it. “Congratulations, Nara. I believe you two will make a good couple.” Kain said then looked at Landon with an almost spiteful look, “If he ever gives you trouble, know that my arms are open for—“A flower vase flew past his head and missed him only narrowly. Landon had thrown it. I froze but then noticed the two were smiling at each other. “What? Did I say something wrong?” Kain asked, looking innocent and Landon gave him a deadly look.“You’re courting death Kain.” Emily told him.“Was I wrong to let her know she has other options if this one doesn’t satisfy her enough?”“I’m sure Landon does well.” Jeffrey said and Kain smirked. “Only time will tell.”Even as he said that, I couldn’t help but notice the atmosphere between them was changing. Though it seemed hostile between them, but it didn’t feel so. It was as though, they were being playful. “You two made up didn’t you?” I a
Soft kisses on my cheeks woke me up to a bright day. I squinted my eyes until they adjusted and turned to Landon, giggling as he continued to kiss my cheeks. “It’s ticklish.”“I thought you weren’t going to wake up.”“I don’t want to.” I groaned and sank further into the duvet, “I want to sleep one more hour.”I felt exhausted after last night. Landon really went at it like a beast. I felt his hand snake up my back to my shoulders. “If you’re so tired, I can give you a massage.”My eyes flew open immediately, the remnants of sleep disappearing as I glared at him.He chuckled, looking amused. “Emily and the others are coming over in a bit. I guess your friend told them and now they can’t wait to confirm if we’re really getting married.”My eyes opened a little wider. Right. Landon proposed to me yesterday and I said yes. I fucking said yes. I was marrying him. I curled up in his arms and nestled in his chest. “I’m still afraid.” I whispered.“Of what?” Landon’s voice was deep and ye
Dan turned to Annie, “Do you want me to acquire a company for you?” “Holy goddess, he’s truly smitten by you. Emily exclaimed, staring at Dan like he was suddenly unfamiliar to her. “Whatever she tells you, don’t believe her.” “Spoken like someone who has something to hide.” Leo commented and Emily burst out laughing. “She knows everything, Dan.” She told him and Dan’s face obviously paled. “That.. that was my past. You know that I only have you in my heart, right?” He coaxed her right in front of us and we all watched Annie, fierce stubborn Annie as she melted and blushed under his heated gaze. “Get a room guys!” Leo said and Emily agreed. Landon suddenly placed some veggies on my plate and it didn’t escape the attention of the rest. I bit my tongue as they fixed their gazes on me as if waiting for my face to go red and it did only because they way they were staring at me. I argued that but they only laughed harder. My cheeks burned hot as they made sounds of jest. Then
Annie’s eyes instantly lit up immediately. She finished arranging the glass and two bottles of wine which she casually handed over to me to carry. “Slow down.” I told her as she hurried back, excited to see Dan. It seemed like they all knew each other. Dan sat directly next to Landon. “I haven’t seen you in months and you got yourself a mate? You didn’t let me know before you ditched my sister.”I appeared just then and Landon glanced at me. “I didn’t have anything going on with your sister, Dan. Stop stirring up trouble.”My lips curved and Dan chuckled as we placed the drinks for everyone. His eyes were glued on Annie like a lovestruck fool. “Where is Kain?” I asked, realizing there was one person missing. “Uh… he said he was busy when we asked him to come with us.” Leo said but I noticed how awkward he sounded. My eyes narrowed. Something must have happened.“Oh,” I said, feeling a bit sad and disappointed. I remembered how I’d promised to dance with him only for me to get dr
“How did you find me? I thought…”“Shh.. it’s okay. I know.”“You know what?” Annie scoffed, walking towards us with her eyes fixed on him. “You made her worry yesterday. What happened to texting her about your situation.”Landon looked at me then back at Annie. “This must be the friend you talked about.”“Yes.” I answered, my mood suddenly elevated and swelled. “This is Annie, and Annie, meet Landon.”“We already met at the door.” She said, giving him a strange look again. “I’ll leave you two alone. You look like you have some catching up to do.”I didn’t even try to stop her as she left. She was grinning wickedly about something snd i ignored her.The moment she left, Landon claimed my lips hungrily, pushing me into the wall. When we pulled away, we were standing so close and as I held his gaze, looking into those familiar eyes, I saw my reflection in them. And I blinked. I stepped away from him, fighting the urge to scream as I covered my hair with my hands. I’d forgotten how I
I finally found him and as I approached, I noticed he was not alone. He was sitting with a woman, her back to me. I frowned, combined it wasn’t Annie. Annie was shorter and more petite than this woman. “You’re here.” Dan said as he pulled a seat out for me to join them. I hesitantly sat and I looked towards the woman, only for both of us to freeze.“It’s you!” The woman called, her eyes widening but I was even more shocked. “Dina?” I called, “What are you doing here?”“I should be asking you the same question.”We both turned towards Dan and he looked confused as well. “You two know each other?”I looked at him and gave him a nod. “She is the human bitch I told you about.” Dina said in her usual snarky tone and Dan’s eyes went wide.“Language, Dina.” He scolded her and she rolled her eyes before she fixed them on me again. “Don’t tell me this is the friend you brought me here to meet.”“I had no idea you knew each other but from what I’ve heard about you from my sister then it’s
His hands roamed about my body, both of us lost in this insane, otherworldly pleasure that engulfed us. One of his hands was holding my waist, and one was at the back of my head as he broke our kiss only to begin peppering hot kisses over my face, to my ears, my most sensitive parts. I moaned when
I should say it now. I should break off our fake relationship but I couldn’t bring myself to start that conversation so I just followed him even though I knew he might start asking question if I didn’t start shifting soon. All around us, people were half transformed into their wolf forms. I tried
She pushed her way inside without waiting for an invitation. I rolled my eyes and closed the door, matching towards her.“What do you want?”She didn’t answer, she was looking around my room with a judgemental look on her face and when she looked at me, she asked, “How did you even manage to afford
His eyes lit up with a glint, “Okay, what?” “Okay, fuck you, Landon!” I pulled away from him, trying to grab on to whatever wits of mine was still lingering close and tried to ignore the loss of warmth I suddenly felt. I couldn’t believe I almost made a deal with him. That’d be a very silly mista
