Chapter 4: The Cursed Alpha

“Why do you want to marry me when you're also looking for Luna?” 

I saw Alpha Jayden gripping the wheel tightly. His burly hands were showing his muscles firmly at the moment. Is he mad?

I suspected that something was going on in the Pack Nexus and I didn't know about it yet. This was quite suspicious.

“There's nothing wrong with an Alpha looking for Luna,” he said in a heavy voice. 

There was nothing wrong with that, but usually an Alpha already had a woman he wanted. Or can even find his own mate. That's what makes me wonder why Alpha Jayden is still publishing news about finding Luna while he's also asking me to have a contract marriage with him.

“What else do you want to ask?” he asked. 

I squeezed my shirt. “If you find your mate, will you divorce me and abandon me? I.... I don't want it to be like that.”

He sighed. “Even if I divorce you, it won't be because I found another woman, but because the child has already been born.”

I clutched my stomach tightly. This baby was going to be my child, my only family that I would have in the future after my father betrayed me. It felt like I wouldn't be able to let go of this child as he asked. 

“Why? Isn't this an interesting offer for you? I can free you from that pimp and give you so much money that you can never imagine the amount. You can use that money for anything,” he explained.

But it's not about the money! It's about the mother- child relationship that is about to be separated. How can a mother leave her child for money? I could never do that.

But, if I refused, Alpha Jayden would probably take me back to that pimp. 

I bit my lip. Could I escape later with my child? Because I didn't want Alpha Jayden to take it away.

“I can't wait any longer,” he said. He pulled out his contract papers and I held them up. 

“Alright, I'm willing to have a contract marriage with you.”

I was forced to accept this marriage contract with Alpha Jayden because I had no other choice. Not because of the money, but I didn't want to go back to the nightclub to serve the horny men. “But before I sign the contract, I want you to agree to help me with something.”

“Just write the addition under the last point. Then sign the contract,” he said coldly. He didn't even turn his head at all, staring straight ahead. 

I squeezed the pen in my hand and wrote down my request. Then I signed the contract. 

Even though I had signed the contract, I would not let Alpha Jayden take my child with him when it was born. I would take it with me no matter what. For now since I had no other choice, I was forced to comply. 

“Don't even think about violating the agreement or running away, because I'll guarantee that I'll find you to the ends of the earth. Do you understand?”

I nodded reluctantly. “When is the wedding?”

“Tonight.”

I glared and was shocked. “Tonight?” I asked, confirming.

“No need to take care of anything, everything is ready. The sooner the better.”

There was no wedding dress selection or venue selection as everything was already prepared. 

Alpha Jayden had assigned a stylist to pick out my wedding dress and our wedding would take place at his house, which was like a palace. 

A few minutes before this wedding, I became suspicious that Alpha Jayden was actually willing to marry anyone as long as the woman could get pregnant with his child. 

Perhaps there was a dispute over the throne in Pack Nexus that required Alpha Jayden to have a child? I don't know, I have no idea and it's better not to find out because it's none of my business. I was only going to be his contract wife anyway. 

I was dressed in a white wedding gown that was very beautiful and molded to my waist. After that, I was led to the altar.

Alpha Jayden was already waiting there, he had a big smile on his face, different from the time he asked me to sign the contract. 

I nervously walked towards the altar. I could feel all the guests' eyes on me. All I could do was keep walking forward because I had no chance to turn back. 

Alpha Jayden extended his hand to greet me. He grasped my hand gently and then whispered in my ear. “Don't look sad, you have to look happy so that no one finds out about our agreement. Do you understand?”

I bit my inner lip and then forced a smile. It was really hard to bring out this smile. At a time when my heart had yet to heal from the wounds caused by my father, I had to make such a big decision. 

The elder placed my hand over Alpha Jayden's hand. It was time to say the sacred vows of marriage. Where I should be saying these vows with the man I love. 

My heart resisted, but I had to do it anyway. 

“I am, Jayden Benedict Alexander, making you my wife and Luna in the bonds of marriage. I promise to love, cherish, protect, honor, comfort, and support you in all things in life.” Alpha Jayden has finished saying his wedding vows. He could act well and looked sincere. 

I took a deep breath. “I am, Cassandra Suri Jane, making you my husband in the bonds of marriage. I promise to be with you through joy, sorrow, fall, rise, sickness, health, sadness, happiness, wealth and poverty. I will always be with you and live with you until time separates.”

A loud applause greeted me and Alpha Jayden after we finished saying our wedding vows, now we were legally a married couple. 

Alpha Jayden took off my wedding veil and turned his face away, I thought he was going to kiss me, but he made an illusion as if he was kissing me. Thankfully, I planned to push him away if he did kiss me. 

Suddenly he grasped my hand tightly. His face was also flashing a very cheerful smile. “Starting today, call the woman beside me, Luna Cassandra. No one can call her by name anymore because she is my Luna.” 

Never in my life had I imagined that I would become Luna, especially in this way. 

This big wedding was just a cover for the big deal we had made.

“And also....” he looked at me. Hey, what's with that look? Then he gripped my hand even tighter. “Luna Cassandra has been pregnant with my child, the next heir to Pack Nexus.”

Everyone was shocked, and so was I. I glared perfectly at his announcement. Had he lost his mind? Why would he announce my pregnancy to all the guests! I didn't understand what he meant at all.

But then he whispered to me. “You remembered the contract, right? I wanted the baby, not you. So everyone should know that I have a child, I don't need to hide it from anyone.”

My jaw dropped. I clenched my fists at my sides. My breathing was ragged too. “Why don't you just hire a real prostitute to get pregnant with your child?”

He tightened his jaw, holding back his anger, but said nothing. Then he left me alone and welcomed his guests. 

I sighed and went straight to one of the waiters and got a glass of beer. I think my heart was already breaking into pieces in there. How could he treat me like that!

Just as the glass of beer was pressed to my lips, someone stopped me from drinking it. 

“Aren't you pregnant, Luna Cassandra? Then this beer won't be good for your baby, you'd better drink some plain water.” He took a random glass of water from the waiter and gave it to me. “I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Noah Benedict Alexander, Alpha Jayden's brother.”

I furrowed my brow. But why didn't they look alike?

He smiled and invited me to make a toast. “We don't look alike because we're half-brothers.”

I wonder why after looking into his eyes, I was instantly moved to drink the water in this glass, it was like someone had set my mind to it and forced me to comply. 

After watching me drink, he just walked away. His back disappeared into the crowd.

Strangely, moments after finishing the water in this glass, my throat immediately felt hot and choked, causing me to drop the glass in my hand. 

Everyone looked at me because of the sound of the glass breaking. But their faces changed suddenly. 

I still hadn't noticed anything until suddenly a drop of blood fell on the wedding dress I was wearing. 

Oh my, what's going on?

The blood flowed so fast that I had to catch it with my hands. This was so abnormal, I'd never even had a nosebleed before.

But what happened next was worse. I suddenly coughed and blood came out of my mouth. 

My body went limp and I fell to the floor in pain. My white wedding dress was stained with blood. At this moment, I felt that the time of my death was near because my whole body was in great pain.

I've had enough if I have to die like this. Maybe it's better that way so that I don't have to suffer anymore in this world.

“Cassie! What's going on? Please hold on!” Alpha Jayden picked up my body, his expression extremely panicked. 

I smiled wryly to myself, convincing myself that he was only worried about the baby in my stomach, not me. 

I vaguely heard a voice in my head that kept saying the name 'Stephanie'. This made me even more certain that my life was coming to an end.

Sadly, even in my last moments, no one really cared about me sincerely. I was always alone.
