Chapter 7

Upon hearing those words from him, she had her goosebumps appear.

"You wanna eat?" Nathan asked her. She looked at him, he really looked gorgeous in his black suit. "Sure, I'm kinda hungry."

Nathan put some food on her plate. She finds him thoughtful. He was doing it seriously. She is so sure, that all his life, he was being served.

She smiles while looking at him. Nathan frowned when he caught her smiling.

"Why?" He asked seriously, again he wasn't smiling, but it didn't make him less handsome.

"Nothing, I just remember my dad, he was the one who always put the food on my plate." Her voice was saddened. Nathan cleared his throat before he asked her.

"How about the young man who was with you at the party?" He asked her while cutting his steak. "You mean, Hank?" She was frowning on her forehead. Why the sudden interest?

"Yeah, so Hank is the name huh?" He said while looking at her, he put down the knife and fork.

"Hank is my best friend." She said flatly. She smiled when she remembered how protective he was towards her.

"Just a mere mention of the man's name brought a smile to your lips huh." She didn't know if she misheard it, but she sensed bitterness in his voice. But why?

"Are you two in a relationship, babe?" She was surprised with his sudden question. She tilted her head many times, instead of answering his question.

"Good, I thought you two are dating, I think you should stop seeing him from now on." It was more like an order than a statement.

She gazed her eyes on him, again, he looked so serious. Did he really mean what he had just said?

"It's impossible!" She exclaimed. It couldn't be, she cannot easily avoid Hank.

He knows her very well, and he will surely ask her why she is avoiding him all of a sudden.

"It's not as easy as you think it is, Mr— she paused, Nathan," she said, lowering her voice. "Hank will ask, and he will find me, even if I hide." She said, trying to explain her side.

"I can get rid of him easily if I want." Nathan said directly, his eyes releasing a small fire that made her shivered. Seriously?

"I don't have any friends, except Hank, he was with me all the way. He stays with me through thick and thin and—." She stopped and was rattled when Nathan strongly kicked the chair beside him, creating a loud noise.

The violinist hurriedly ran when Nathan motioned him to leave.

He really frightened her. It was her first time seeing him become violent, aside from the punches that he threw to Hank.

"What is wrong with you?" She managed to ask, even if her voice was trembling, and her knees were shaking. Instead of answering her, he was already on her side in an instant.

Pulling her closer, and kissed her lips savagely. The way he kissed her was rough and possessive. She gasped when he finally released her.

"I don't say sorry, babe, and you know that." He was cupping her face. Her lips felt swollen in his hot kisses. He hugged her tightly, while kissing the top of her head. She was trembling, her life became complicated from the day she met him.

He was looking at her eyes intently. As if he was telling her, 'that's what I do whenever I hear the things I don't like.'

She remained in his embrace, his lean and hard body almost covered hers. It feels safe to be inside his arms, it feels as if nobody would ever dare to hurt her.

"I say it again, babe," he released her for a moment, but still holding her hands. "I don't want you to come near him again, I feel like he's into you." His face was unreadable, his jaw was moving.

She didn't feel anything for Hank! For Pete's sake!

"I'll try, but I can't promise that I can avoid him that easily. Hank is a very persistent man," she told him. Nathan remained silent for about a minute. Then, he speaked again.

"I don't wanna ruin this night, babe," he said with a hint of a smile on his lips.

"Can I ask you for a dance?" He took his phone and dialled. After a minute, the violinist returned to his place earlier.

He played Beautiful in White by Shane Fillan. She feels like she is in Fairy Tale while they danced. As if tonight is their honeymoon, and they are dancing.

Nathan was holding her waist, while he put her arms on his shoulders. She hates to admit it, but for her, it's so romantic.

She rested her head on his chest, she even heard his heartbeat. He smells so good. It would be fine with her, if she smells him all day.

His hands moving back and forth on his back, down to her waist, she can feel the heat that comes from his hand.

He was kissing her hair from time to time. If she was given a chance, she wanted to remain in his arms forever. She closed her eyes and savoured the moment. Just this once, because after tonight, I don't know if I will see you again, she thought.

They remain standing, even after the music stops. He took the champagne and gave it to her.

She accepted it, and took a sip, it relaxes her. They didn't mind the hours that passed by. They talk about anything and everything under the sun.

She felt a little tipsy, she was sleepy.

"I'm going to sleep." She told Nathan, he just looked at her and didn't answer. He stood, and guided her to stand. "Good night." She said, her eyes were tantalizing.

She was about to turn her back, when she remembered something. She doesn't know if it's with the champagne, but somebody urges her to kiss him and say thank you.

She faced him again, he was looking intently at her eyes. In her sudden move, she held his nape and brushed  his lips with her lips in a few seconds. He felt tensed for what she did.

Because she kissed him unintentionally, she immediately turned her face to the other side. I need to get out of here! Geez! That was so embarrassing! She thought. But before she could move her legs, Nathan grabbed her hand.

"Not so fast, babe." He pulled her against his body, and his lips welcomed her mouth savagely.
