Chapter 20

Nathan took the whiskey straight, the bitter taste running down to his throat. Remembering what had happened four years ago, gave his chest a sudden jolt.

He was the prime suspect in Stacey's case, but the lack of evidence and witnesses made his life back to normal. The Langleys went to Australia and live there for good. After that he never heard anything from them since then.

For now, all he should think about is how to explain it to Rhianna. Upon remembering her, he stood up and paid for his drinks. He promised to tell her everything, he definitely owed her a story.

He went to a bakeshop and bought Rhianna's favorite carrot cake.

When he reached his pad, Rhianna was sleeping peacefully. Her scent covers the entire bedroom and it lingers in his nostrils. She smells like a fresh flowers, mixed with citrus.

He came closer and kissed her forehead. She moved a little but didn't wake up.

He went to the bathroom and took a shower, he let the water washed out all his inhibitions, doubts
