Allison thought she heard him wrong
"What?"
She had expected him to say something like that but she didn't expect him to use those very words.
What does he mean by 'mine'?
"I don't like repeating myself miss brown. I said be mine. I will give you twice the money you need". he said, his face void of any emotion.
"You want me to be your girlfriend?" Maybe it wouldn't be that bad anyway. Not that she wanted to be his girlfriend, but she will agree to it without blinking if it means saving her sister.
"No! I want you to be mine!" he growled
"what do you mean by 'yours'? your wife?" She asked, staring at him in horror. Being a girlfriend was one thing, but a wife? She is not sure she can do that.
"Hell no!" she released the breath that she didn't know she was holding. "Be mine. be my possession. I want to own you". he sounded like he was loosing his patience.
"But I'm a person, not an object"
She felt so angry. She has never been this insulted. She knows she's beautiful and very attractive and a lot of men desire her but no man has ever been like this with her before. She felt so small and angry, angry at everything, angry at the universe for letting her be so unlucky, angry at herself for being useless."
"I don't need twice the money Mr Bruce, I just need a job, the pay won't be enough but I will look for other ways". She managed to say. She felt her body vibrating in anger, her palms balled into fist.
"You are deceiving yourself you know. Even if u try to save, you don't have the time, your sister might di..."
"Don't say it" She cut him off angrily. How could he say that so casually? Doesn't he have any sympathy? How can someone be so cruel? He's gorgeous on the outside, but his heart is made of stone. A black stone.
"I applied for a job and not to be your property". she said with gritted teeth, glowering angrily at him.
If looks could kill, Calvin would sure have been cut in a million pieces.
"Don't you want to save your sister? You don't have time miss Brown" He smirked.
"I want to save her but not this way. I wonder what you will make me do if I agree to become yours. That doesn't even sound right. You are making feel less human. I'm not an object, I'm my own person. You can't own me." she said, her voice sounding pleading even though she didn't want it to.
"My money. My way." he said.
Allison felt like crying but she isn't going to. She shouldn't let this heartless creature see in tears. She didn't want to see his merciless expression again. She didn't want to see him mock her helplessly again.
"You are a monster. How can you take advantage of People like that?"
"When you become my mine, I won't tolerate you calling me a monster". The way he confidently used the word 'when' like he is sure she will agree made her shudder.
"I will never be yours". She said firmly.
"You know where to find me when you need me" he smirked.
"Fuck you". She violently pushed his hands that were still on her shoulders and stormed out, rage brewing inside of her.
Calvin just stood there and watch her leave before walking back to his chair.
He has never been rejected by a woman before, he used to be the one rejecting them when they do not meet his standard. Allison is just so beautiful and he found her so sexy that he can't just stop himself from picturing her in his bed under him.
"Fuck" he cursed out.
This is the first time he has been rejected and by a desperate woman. She hurt his ego. What the fuck is wrong with her? She should be clinging on to him.
He ruffled his hands through his hair and pulled it in frustration. He wanted her and he's going to get her whether she likes it or it.
He relaxed himself on his chair for a while. Then he sat up and opened his laptop. He went through it for a while before closing it again. His mind went back and forth to his encounter with that lady. Damn! She's daring. He must get her and when he does, he's going to punish her for resisting.
A knock on the door told him brought him out of his thoughts. He forgot he was conducting interviews, but he is in no mood right now to do that.
"Let my assistant take care of that." he told them from inside.
"Yes sir." the receptionist replied.
Allison got home that evening, she was tired physically and emotionally, she tried to sleep but she couldn't. Kylie's pale face would always appear in her head. She was scared. Scared that she would loose her sister if nothing is done.
Moments later, she stood up and got dressed. She picked up her fone and dialed Kenny's number. He picked up almost immediately
"Hey Ally, how did your interview go?"
"I don't want to talk about it, I'm sorry" she said apologetically. He just assumed that she didn't get the job and she was upset about it so he didn't ask any further. Allison was thankful for that.
"I'm sorry Ally, it's gonna be okay"
"Thank you. I am about going to the hospital to see Kylie, I won't be at the bar today." she informed.
"Okay, I've got everything under control"
She chuckled a little.
"I trust you"
Allison arrived at her sister's ward few minutes later.
"Is she getting any better?" she asked the doctor who was busy checking her sister's pulse.
"We are trying our best but she needs chemotherapy as soon as possible. Her health is worsening every passing day"
Allison looked at her sister, even her breath has grown weak. Allison felt her own breath hitch.
Allison sat down silently on the chair beside her sister's bed looking at her. she sat there for what seemed like hours lost in her own thoughts. She has a chance to save her sister, she has already promised to do everything for her, she can give her own life. She stared at her sister face and her body connected to different machines and pipes. She felt her heart ache. If she can give her life, doing whatever that man wants her to do shouldn't be a big deal.
She knows that it's going to be a blow on her ego but what is her ego without her sister. She has thought of different ways of getting money but she couldn't think of any.
"It's like I have to give in to the Bastard after all."
Calvin stared at Jerry, trying his best to appear friendly. He kept reminding himself that his grandmother was there. Allison didn't look alright, and he could already guess Jerry had something to do with it. Even though his gaze at Jerry wasn't hostile, there was clear warning in his eyes. He quickly led Allison away. "Oh I didn't tell you how much my grandsons are in love with their wives. You need to see Calvin when the Allison is experiencing the slightest discomfort. Love is indeed a beautiful thing." Grandma said to the uncomfortable Jerry. Jerry smiled and nodded his head. "It hasn't been up to a month since Delia and Leo got married. I wish we had met you earlier, you would have attended the wedding. It was beautiful." "We really would have wanted you there." Delia said, and grandma beamed, failing to see the sarcasm. "Jerry the whole family loves you already. It's really going to be a wonderful week." Grandma exclaimed. A week? A whole week of staying together with them?
Four days later, the members of the Bruce family began to arrive the mansion. Aunt Margaret and her new boyfriend were the first to come. All the while, Jerry had been dying in nervousness. Grandma had begged him to stay in the mansion with her, and he was forced to oblige. During their stay, he had learnt more about the family than he knew.He had asked to know what happened between Calvin and their father. The woman was reluctant to tell him at first, but when she became very comfortable with him, it slipped. He was beyond shocked and disappointed to find out that his father had killed Calvin's mother. He felt so betrayed and angry, but one couldn't release their anger on the dead.Aunt Margaret introduced her boyfriend to Jerry. She also told him that she has a son and a daughter, and that they would also be coming. They chatted, whiling away time before Naomi and Sasha came. Both girls slumped on one of the living room's couches. By then, grandma had gone to her room to have her n
Calvin brought a doctor to the house to check if Allison is pregnant as he promised her the previous day. The both of them were on their toes the whole time as the doctor took her blood. After a while, he asked them to leave so as to run some tests on the blood.Calvin took his wife to the living room. They sat down on the couch in silence, doing nothing in particular. Just waiting impatiently. Time seemed to move slowly, and the couple didn't have the zeal to do any other thing. Finally, the doctor came out, and they didn't know when they rose to their feet."Am I...?" Allison began anxiously."Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bruce." The doctor said with a smile, then he turned to Allison. "You are three weeks gone."Allison turned to Calvin, and she saw that his hands were already wide open, inviting her for an embrace. She hugged him tightly, her hands went around his neck, holding him with a firm grip. She suddenly began to laugh, but not long after, her laughter turned into sobs. "It
Calvin instantly regretted saying that. What if that was not the case? He would just raise her hope only to leave her disappointed in the end. But he just couldn't help himself, as the thought of her getting pregnant excited him.Allison's lips parted and closed, before parting again. "We... we should see a doctor." She suggested."I was only guessing. I am not certain." Calvin said, not wanting her to get too hopeful."But it could be true. I have been feeling a little sick for a while now. Maybe I am really pregnant Calvin. We should check." Now she looked so anxious to know. "I had previously thought about that, but I always pushed it away, not wanting to get my hopes high. But now that you noticed and mentioned it, I want to check. It is better I just know, even if I get a negative answer."Calvin walked up to her and kissed her forehead, letting his lips linger there for a few seconds. "We will be seeing a doctor tomorrow.""Thank you baby.""Anything for you princess." He smile
Delia's gown hugged her body from her breasts to her waist, before it flowed freely downwards. She had wanted it to be tight and take her whole figure, but Charlotte discouraged her as she was pregnant, and grandma made sure to give her her own set of instructions. Delia wondered if they were exaggerating as she was only a few weeks pregnant. She had to remind them from time to time that she wasn't a piece of glass. The front of the dress was opened in a heart shaped pattern, and two royal blue straps attached to it was tied at the back, around her neck, as the dress was completely handless, leaving her back open. The upper part of the dress, close to her breasts to her back was blue, embedded with white designs. While the free end was also blue. The gown flowed voluptuously behind her, and she wondered if she would be able to walk freely. She stared at herself in the mirror, heart full with so much happiness, and a sense of fulfillment. She knew that she was not making a mistake by
Calvin woke up one morning. He searched the bed for Allison as he usually does, but she wasn't there. He got up to go close the open curtains as the light rays were shining brightly in the room, and his eyes were yet to adjust to it. From the way everywhere looked bright, he knew he had woken up very late. He and Allison had a very wild night last night. He still expected her to be in bed, knowing he tired her out.He quickly went to search for her, worried that he might have tired her out too much. Their bathroom was the first place he searched, but he didn't find her there.Coming out of the room, he met Ellie. "Good morning Ellie. Do you know where Ally is?""She's in the kitchen. She said she wanted to make you breakfast." Ellie answered with a shrug, and Calvin's feet took him to the kitchen wasting another second. He smiled when he saw her from the door. She was singing a song and also dancing to it. Somehow, she looked more radiant."What are you doing standing there?" Alliso
It had only been two days since Calvin, Allison and Naomi returned home from the ancestral home when they had an unexpected visitor, Jerry. Calvin had ordered that he shouldn't be let in, as he did not want Allison to see him and remember her traumatizing experience with him. Jerry stayed for a long while, causing a fuss at the gates. But after a while, he left.Calvin was thankful that he left, only that he did not expect him to come the next day. Just like the previous day he ordered that he shouldn't be let in, but Jerry stayed at the gates disturbing the peace of his home, accusing him of killing his parents. After a while, Calvin finally decided to come down to let him in. But only because Allison wasn't home, as she had began to spend all her time with Delia since she heard she was pregnant. Naomi wasn't home as well.Jerry rushed towards Calvin the moment he came down, ready to throw a punch or two at him, but he was quickly held by one of Calvin's men."I presume you came here
Allison stared at Calvin, completely taken aback by the information. Did he say that Jerry was his half-brother? "H... How?" "I am as surprised as you are princess. I think he is the older brother, and he is bitter, as he is the one supposed to get the company." Calvin explained, making Allison crease her brows in worry. "This is not good. He is a threat to you." Calvin shook his head. "He is an illegitimate son, and I guess no one in the family knows about him. Not even grandma." "He can easily prove that he is your father's son." He chuckled. "Even if he does that princess, the company will still belong to me. It is not written anywhere that it belongs to the first born. I am the rightful owner legitimately, plus everyone in the family apart from my late father..." he paused shortly, as if the word didn't sound right on his tongue. "... and his wife supports me. Jerry or whatsoever he is called have no claim." He shrugged. Allison lay her head on his chest, as she made hersel
Naomi lowered her head as she couldn't bear to look Calvin in the eyes. Her body shivered violently, and her teeth chattered against each other. The temperature around her suddenly felt so chill, and her heart hammered in her chest like it was going to pull out.Everything happened just so fast. When she saw her father pointing a gun at Calvin, and she realized that he was going to shoot him, she quickly picked up the gun on the floor and shot him instead. It was an instinctual reaction."Na... Naomi?"She heard Calvin call her. The shock in his voice was evident, even though his tone was low. Was he disappointed?Calvin walked up to his shivering sister, and wrapped her in a tight hug."Why? Oh God! why did you do that?"He knew that she was going to live with the guilt forever. She was the last person he expected to do that. She had always been so soft-hearted, and she did care about their father. "I... I... am... I..." She stuttered, unable to make a coherent statement. She hersel
