Althea stirred on the bed, her lashes fluttering as she slowly opened her eyes. A faint dizziness lingered, but her strength had mostly returned, and she could feel her energy flowing back into her limbs.

“You’re finally awake, My Lady!” Melva exclaimed, hurrying to her side.

Althea didn’t answer right away. Her gaze stayed fixed on the ceiling, her mind replaying the last thing she remembered—collapsing in Gavriel’s arms, his voice tight with worry as he called her name.

“Did they stop the infection from spreading?” she finally asked, blinking to clear her thoughts.

“Yes, My Lady. You don’t have to worry anymore,” Melva assured her. Just then, Althea felt something stir beside her. She quickly jolted when she realized there was a wolf curled up beside her. Its fur shimmered faintly in the morning light, black and white strands blending like shadow and moonlight.

“Melva,” she stuttered with a gulp, pressing back against the pillows.

“Ah, don’t be frightened,” Melva reassured quickly.

Gavriel’s words still lingered in the air. “Tell me, how should I deal with you?”Althea’s heart hammered against her ribs. His voice was sharp, but his eyes—those eyes that never looked away—were heavy with something else. She swallowed hard, forcing her trembling hands to stay still.“You deal with me,” she said softly, “by seeing me for who I am… not for what my father has done.”His gaze darkened. He stepped closer until the space between them nearly vanished. “The world sees Cain’s daughter. They see betrayal in your blood. They demand I lock you away. Some even want you dead. Should I ignore them?”Althea lifted her chin even as fear rushed through her. “I am not him. I saved those people. If I carried his cruelty in my veins, would I have done that?”His jaw tightened. The fire in her voice seemed to disarm him for a moment, and that was all it took for her courage to hold.“You ask me to trust you,” he said.“No,” she whispered, her voice steady now. “I ask you not to throw me

The wolf beside Althea perked up at her sudden tension, its glowing fur shimmering faintly.“My Lady?” Melva asked, setting down the tray of tea. “What is it? What do you see?”Althea’s breath hitched. She rushed to the window and pressed her hand against the frame, her heart pounding. A man stood in the courtyard below. He turned slightly, and the sunlight fell across his profile. That face—sharp, familiar, unforgettable.“It’s him,” she whispered, her chest tightening.Melva hurried to her side, straining to follow her line of sight. “Who? Do you know that man?”Althea didn’t answer right away. Her lashes fluttered as if trying to blink away a mirage. She had told herself it was impossible, that her memory was only clinging to ghosts. Yet her lips trembled as the words slipped out.“He’s alive…”Without hesitation, Althea snatched a coat, throwing it over her gown. She rushed for the door, Melva and the wolf trailing after her in alarm.Thirteen years ago, her mother had introduced

At the Capital City, Royal EstateNews travelled quickly in the Capital City and other parts of the kingdom. By the time the sun dipped low and cast its golden glow over the royal estate, rumors about the Southwest had already found their way into every corridor, chamber, and courtyard. The story twisted as it spread, but one detail remained the same—Cain’s daughter, the traitor’s daughter, had saved an entire town.In the banquet hall of South Palace where nobles gathered for an evening feast to celebrate the Minister of Faith, Darel Cane’s birthday, the whispers were thick enough to choke on. Men leaned across tables, speaking in low, urgent tones. Women in silk gowns covered their mouths, their eyes wide as though they had seen the scene with their own eyes.“Did you hear?” one nobleman said, his voice carrying despite his effort to whisper. “The girl threw herself in harm’s way. Some say she stood against a horde of the infected.”“A likely tale,” another scoffed, swirling wine in

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Eclipser

EclipserBefore Gavriel could act, Althea stirred faintly in her sleep. With trembling arms, she shifted closer and clung to the wolf’s thick fur as if it were a pillow. A sigh slipped from her lips, her body relaxing for the first time since she’d collapsed.“An Eclipser wolf,” Uriel gasped. He quickly raised a hand to stop Gavriel, his voice low but firm. “Leave it. Look, she’s already responding. This is what she needs.”Gavriel froze, his chest rising and falling with sharp breaths. He hated the sight, hated that even another creature, not him, was the one she leaned on. Gavriel’s patience snapped. He reached down and grabbed the wolf by the scruff of its neck. The creature snarled and thrashed, its claws raking against his arm, but compared to the Alpha King’s iron grip, it was far too small to break free. The wolf’s fur bristled, its luminous black-and-white pelt shimmering as it struggled in vain. Yet Gavriel’s hold was unyielding, his jaw tight with irritation.“Put it back,

Althea caught her breath, unable to argue. All she could manage was a faint, “I… I couldn’t just stay hidden. People needed help.”Before Gavriel could answer, a surge of white-blue light rippled across the square.Uriel had arrived. He strode forward, his cloak whipping around him, a staff glowing in his hand. With one look at the chaos around them, he raised it high, his voice carrying power. “By the binding laws of the ancients, I command this darkness to scatter!”A wave of cleansing light burst outward, striking the cursed. Some screeched and fell, writhing as the corruption burned away. But not all of them yielded—the darkness was too deep, too thick. The spell faltered.Uriel’s jaw clenched. “No… it won’t hold!” He dropped to one knee, sweat running down his brow. His body trembled under the strain.Althea turned to him, alarmed. “What’s wrong?”“I need more energy,” Uriel gritted out, his voice tight. “If I force it now, I’ll burn out before the spell is complete. And then th
