Althea froze at his tone. For a moment, she saw not the Alpha King but the beast that ruled behind his calm mask. His chest rose and fell heavily, eyes dark and burning like embers.

“I’m not talking back,” she said softly, her voice trembling despite her effort to sound steady. “I’m just telling the truth.”

Gavriel’s face was still so dark, and Althea didn’t want him getting mad, so she leaned in and kissed his lips, hoping that would distract him from talking any more about Kael. She honestly didn’t know where his jealousy was coming from, but it could have been his pride or his overpossessiveness toward her as his mate.

To cool him down, she had to make him feel reassured.

For a moment, Gavriel didn’t move. His breath hitched as if caught off guard, but when Althea’s lips brushed his again, something inside him snapped. His hand gripped her waist, pulling her closer until she could feel the steady thrum of his heartbeat against her chest.

The kiss deepened—not gentle, but desperate.

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 132: Normal

Melva woke up early, wanting to prepare breakfast for Simon. Her mate had come back so late the night before that she was already asleep. She was sure he would be up early again to leave for another important task—she barely saw him anymore. Still, she hoped she could at least catch him this morning before the sun fully rose. She quickly packed the meal into a basket and made her way to Simon’s assigned quarters next to hers. It was funny, she thought, how they were already bonded, yet had still not consummated it.Melva hesitated outside Simon’s door, holding the basket tightly against her chest. The hallway was quiet, only the faint sound of birds outside breaking the silence. She took a deep breath before knocking softly.“Simon?” she called, her voice low.No answer. She frowned and pushed the door open just a little. The room was dim, the curtains still drawn. Simon was there, sitting at his desk with a pile of documents in front of him. His head was resting on his hand on the ta

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   A War Within

Althea was completely lost in the way Gavriel kissed her—rough, demanding, and utterly consuming. He hovered over her, his body pressing her down as he positioned himself between her thighs. She gasped against his mouth when she suddenly felt his solid thrusts, his lips still claiming hers as if he couldn’t bear to let her breathe. He wasn’t answering her question, maybe because she didn’t answer him as well. She wanted to tell him that she wouldn’t go, even if it was her father. She didn’t want to support her father’s cause. She knew that being with him would only mean another kind of prison—one where she’d have no freedom at all, forced to obey his every command or face his anger.Even as his favorite, she knew she was never free from his wrath. One mistake, one refusal, and she would pay for it.All Althea had ever wanted was freedom. Yet, a part of her couldn’t stop wondering what the Alpha King truly wanted from her. Surely, he wouldn’t let her escape, not until her father was

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 130: Wonder

“What did you say?” she asked, wanting to make sure she’d heard him right. Did he really ask her that?Gavriel’s gaze held hers as he repeated, “Do you want to learn the mindlink?”Althea nodded, blinking in surprise. Then he smiled—warmly, genuinely—and her heart almost exploded at the sight. He had been smiling more often lately, and each time felt like the walls around him softened just for her.He pulled her close into his arms. She still felt sticky from what they’d done, but she didn’t care. His warmth surrounded her, grounding her in a way nothing else could. Then, he released a deep, steady sigh.[Can you hear me?]Althea froze. Her body went rigid the moment she heard Gavriel’s voice—not with her ears, but inside her head.“I hear you,” she whispered, her voice small and awed.He chuckled, and she could feel the vibration rumble through his chest where her head rested.[Now, there’s no barrier between us,] his voice spoke again in her mind—smooth, commanding, yet intimate. • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 129: Something Gentler

Althea’s eyes flew open in shock, and out of instinct, she quickly turned away and squeezed her eyes shut. She couldn’t believe he caught her stealing a kiss from him, especially when they’d already done far more than just kiss countless times. Still, her heart raced. It felt different… she had kissed him while he slept. She bit her lip, trying to calm her breathing, but then froze when she felt Gavriel’s arm slide around her waist, pulling her back until her back pressed firmly against his chest.“You…” he grunted low against her ear.Her breath hitched as his lips began to trail down her neck, slow and deliberate. A shiver ran through her when his hand slid up to caress her breast, and she could feel the hard press of his desire against her lower back.“You started this, Althea,” he murmured against her skin, his voice deep and rough as his lips moved lower to her shoulder, licking and suckling with growing hunger.Althea bit her lower lip, trying to quiet the sound that threatened

Gavriel first checked on Uriel, who was now in the living area being tended to by Lakan. “Were you hit that badly?” Gavriel asked, frowning as he watched Lakan channel energy into Uriel’s wounds.“That warlock was strong,” Uriel replied, brow furrowed. “But he had an extra boost. Someone was amplifying his power, not just for the portal but during the fight as well. Whoever did that, I’ll make them pay for those cowardly moves.”“He’s a he, and Althea saw him,” Gavriel said. He turned to Simon. “Get me the best artist we have who can do a sketch. I want that bastard’s face by sunrise tomorrow.”“So the man showed himself to Lady Althea?” Uriel asked, signaling for Lakan to finish and dismiss the healer.Uriel pulled his shirt on and waited for Gavriel’s answer.“He did,” Gavriel confirmed. “Althea said that same presence has been hovering around her too, even inside the palace.”“What? But the royal estate’s defenses are tight, unless he’s powerful enough to breach the barrier,” Uriel

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 127: Or Your Worst Nightmare

Outside the Werewolf Continent borders, Rett and Jener appeared out of nowhere. The air was dry and heavy, and the land around them was barren, covered in cracked sand that stretched as far as the eye could see. There was no sign of life, no sound but the faint whistle of the wind.Rett glanced around, frowning. “Where the hell are we?” he muttered under his breath.Jener steadied himself, still catching his breath from the jump. “This isn’t the place I aimed for,” he said, voice tight. He raised his hand and began tracing symbols in the air, trying to open another portal but the energy flickered and died.Rett’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t tell me your magic’s failing now.”Jener ignored him and tried again but they just ended up in the same spot. So Jener tried and tried again…“Dammit, Jener! What is this?! We’ve been going in circles for hours!” Rett shouted, his patience wearing thin as they landed in the same desolate spot again. Endless brown sand stretched out in every direction, li
