The guards stiffened at Dorothy’s command before moving toward Althea.

“No! Please, no! You can’t do this to her, My Lady!” Melva cried out hysterically, trying to push forward, but was held back.

Althea, however, did not flinch. She caught Melva’s trembling hand and squeezed it firmly, her calm eyes meeting her maid’s frantic ones.

“Stay calm,” she said softly, almost soothingly. “I’ll be out soon…”

Then she leaned closer, her lips barely moving as she whispered in Melva’s ear, “Focus on the task at hand.”

Melva nodded, but worry clouded her eyes. Althea smiled softly and even gave her a playful wink, trying to pacify her friend.

“No need to drag me. I’ll come with you. Please, lead the way,” she said calmly to the guards.

They hesitated, glancing at Dorothy, who gave them a signal to take her.

‘Let’s see how you get out of this! I’m sure you’re nothing but a witch… a pest to our kingdom just like your father!’

Dorothy’s thoughts rang sharp in Althea’s mind. From that alone, she knew

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Their Judgement

The next morning, Althea was escorted to the South Palace, where political affairs, lawmaking, and meetings with regional Alphas were usually conducted. She was led directly to the trial court hall. Althea walked with her chin held high. Her heart pounded, but she refused to show fear. She had lived with hatred all her life. What was one more trial? The vast chamber was already filled. Nobles, ministers, and visiting Alphas sat in their designated seats, their gazes sharp and filled with judgment. The heavy air practically reeked of hostility.“Just kill the traitor’s daughter!” one noble shouted, spittle flying.“She’s a witch!”“She’ll destroy us like her father did!”A few even hurled stones at her, but Ben and Rudy stepped forward, blocking them. The moment the crowd recognized them as the Alpha King’s most trusted elite warriors, no one dared try again. They had Althea stand at the center of the grand hall, surrounded by the council and regional Alphas. Their glares were sharp,

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 50: Should Be Mine

Althea endured the hunger in silence. It wasn’t the first time she had been locked away without food. Back in her own pack, under Luna Meena’s cruelty, it had been the same routine. Some things never changed. She sat quietly in the corner, knees hugged to her chest, ignoring the smell of food as her three guards ate their dinner. She didn’t bother wasting her energy reading their thoughts because her body needed rest more than anything. After a while, footsteps echoed, followed by a familiar voice.“My Lady!” Melva burst out.Althea’s head snapped up. The guards moved to block her, but before they could, Simon’s calm yet firm voice cut through the tension.“Let her inside to bring the meal of the Alpha King’s breeder.”“But—”The guard posted by the cell bars tried to argue, but Simon’s sharp tone silenced him.“Are you ready to lose your head once the Alpha King arrives? The head mistress might earn lenience, but not you. She is not just a breeder. She is his fated mate… marked by th

  • Trapped with the Alpha King   Chapter 49: Alive Because of Her

Melva was deeply worried when she found out that the kitchen only sent meals for the three guards who escorted her lady but nothing for Althea. Her heart ached, so she rushed straight to the kitchen to prepare something for her.“What are you doing here?!” one of the kitchen servants demanded, glaring at her. Please… let me just prepare dinner for my lady. I won’t take long,” Melva begged softly. The woman laughed cruelly. “Do you really think I’ll allow that? Get out! The traitor’s daughter deserves what’s coming to her. Let her starve in the dungeon!”“Please, just a little food—”Before Melva could finish, the head cook had already called for the guards. They dragged her away as she struggled and sobbed. Desperate, she searched the palace for even a sweet potato or leftover bread, but every servant she approached shoved her aside.“Seriously…” Melva broke down, her knees giving way as she collapsed onto the cold ground. Tears streamed down her face as her sobs echoed softly in the

Althea froze, her hand hovering uncertainly above the servant. She looked up, startled, her brows knitting together. “No—I’m only trying to help her.”Dorothy’s lips curved in a mocking smile. “Help? You call meddling with her body ‘help’? Everyone here can see what you were about to do.”Melva quickly stepped forward in protest. “That’s not true! My Lady was only trying to heal her—”“Silence,” Dorothy snapped, cutting her off. Her glare returned to Althea, cold and unrelenting. “Every breath you take in this palace is already a burden. Don’t think I won’t report this to the Queen Dowager.”The fallen servant groaned softly, her body trembling, but Dorothy ignored her completely. All her attention was on Althea, waiting for her to make a wrong move. She ignored Dorothy and turned to Rudy, “Get her to a healer this instant before it’s too late. She’s been poisoned and it’s seeping through her body already.”Rudy instinctively bent down to lift the servant, but before he could, the wom

The three guards stiffened at once and bowed slightly. “High Stewardess, Lady Dorothy,” they greeted curtly, their voices carrying the weight of respect laced with caution.‘High Stewardess?’ Althea realized then. ‘So she’s the one in charge of keeping order in the North Palace.’But as her gaze locked with the older woman’s sharp eyes, the venom in the latter’s thoughts made her gulp.‘How dare this woman strut around like she owns the place! Shameless traitor’s daughter. You should be rotting in the dungeon right now! The only reason you’re breathing is because you’re the Alpha King’s fated mate. I pray the Alpha King gets tired of you soon. You deserve death, and even that wouldn’t be enough for what your father did to Princess Riella and his cousins!’Althea straightened her back and met Dorothy’s eyes without flinching. The woman’s hatred was sharp, but Althea forced a small, polite smile.“Greetings, High Stewardess, Lady Dorothy,” she said softly, bowing along with Melva as the
