Chapter 6

Autor: Serious Snow
For the next few days, Regina reveled in luxury and privilege, lifted so high she seemed untouchable.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened to me, too.

Until one day, during a livestream, world-renowned billionaire Cyril Mallet made a staggering wager of hundreds of billions, all just for three rounds of cards with Regina.

The whole world erupted in shock.

"Wait, that's the richest man who controls tens of thousands of mines! He's actually asking to bet with the incredibly lucky Regina Wade?"

"The key point is that he staked nearly his entire fortune, and Regina agreed without a second thought. Does she not realize that one loss would mean complete ruin?"

"Guessing one card is fine, but three? No matter what, she can't get it all right!"

Even though everyone's focus was on Regina, she couldn't care less and went about her life as usual.

Everyone in the company was getting anxious. Even Jack tried to change her mind.

"Let's not do this, okay? You already have more money than you could ever spend in ten lifetimes."

Regina merely laughed. "Lady Luck is forever on my side. I'll win for sure!"

I sat at my desk with my fists clenched, staring at the scene unfolding before me.

In my past life, it was this sky-high gamble that cost me my life. I died with resentment I could never let go.

I couldn't let it happen again.

One day before the wager, Regina came to me, all smiles. "Ariel, you'd better watch how I win this best. Try not to get run over by a car again!"

I flashed an icy grin and met her gaze calmly. "Sure, I'm looking forward to it."

At the most luxurious casino in Jovaster, crowds packed the outer hall shoulder to shoulder. At the same time, the live broadcast inside was overwhelmed with viewers, pushing the platform to the brink of collapse.

To handle the overwhelming traffic, hundreds of livestream rooms were opened.

Cyril's assistant, Robin Leloup, spoke up. "Mr. Mallet, Regina Wade is here. Do you want some wine served so you can…"

Cyril halted Robin and gave a sharp command. "No. Start now. I've never met anyone as intriguing as her in my entire life. If she dares to lie to me, I'll make sure she pays dearly for it."

Everything unfolding was instantly broadcast onto the live stream, triggering an immediate uproar.

They immediately placed their bets.

"My bet is on Regina!"

"Mine's on Cyril!"

Right then, Regina pushed the door open at an unhurried pace, holding a bottle of soda. She took her seat across from Cyril.

"You want to start now?" She flashed a confident grin. "It won't be fun if the game ends so soon!"

Robin scowled and approached her. "Mr. Mallet wants to start now!"

Cyril narrowed his eyes and picked three poker cards at random. After glancing at them, he turned them face down on the table. The pressure in the room shifted to a cold, suffocating one instantly.

Regina's lips curled into a faint, confident smile. She glanced toward the camera for a long moment, then silently mouthed, "Ariel Nichols, you're finished."

I clenched my fists tightly, eyes locked on the livestream. My heart pounded so hard it felt like it was about to jump straight out of my throat.

As time ticked past, there was no sign of Regina revealing the contents of the three cards.

Many viewers got upset.

"How much longer is she going to take? If this is beyond her ability, she should stop pretending otherwise!"

"What a liar. All that story about her being extremely lucky must be fake!"

"I placed my bet on Regina. There's no way she's lying. I saw her win three rounds in a row at the casino previously!"

Right then, Robin warned, "Ms. Wade, if you don't give your answer, we'll declare your failure now."

Regina panicked instantly and faced the camera. "What do you mean, I'll fail? I'll reveal my answer now!"

Sweat began to drip from her forehead, her face growing paler by the second. It didn't look like she knew the answer.

The tension in my chest finally began to ease. I let out a long, steady breath.

It looked like she wouldn't be able to answer, after all.

The next second, Regina's calm and steady voice rang out. "My answer is J, Q, and K!"

Hearing that, I tensed up immediately.

Regina was born with incredible luck. What happened previously was just an accident!"Many netizens supported Regina. That night, I put on a mask and lay on my bed while enjoying some music, calmly waiting for tomorrow's bet.Without warning, Regina barged into my house."Ariel, you must be tired preparing for the bet for these few days, right? You even fell ill a couple of days ago. I prepared some comforting chicken soup for you!" Jack was right behind her.I almost laughed in dis

Everyone in the livestream froze on the spot, completely stunned by what they had just witnessed."Wait, the famous lucky streamer is gone, just like that?""Seriously? If she could guess one card right, I wouldn't have doubted her. But she didn't get any correct!"Cyril's face darkened as he glared at Robin. "Why is the livestream still on? Are you waiting to get torn apart in the comments?"All livestreams were ended immediately.Cyril's men cleared the casino and made sure everyone left, except for me.We adjourned to a private room, where Cyril stared at me unblinkingly. There was something probing in it—curiosity, scrutiny, and a hint of something hard to read."State your price." He chuckled softly. "You got the correct answer. If you want everything I own, I wouldn't stop you." The next second, Cyril's eyes narrowed slightly."But first, you need to tell me how you did it. And what were you and Regina talking about? Someone died? Who died, and why did they die?"I fro

As expected, Cyril's eyes lit up with interest when he heard my answer. He looked at me intently."Oh? And why do you think that's the answer?" he asked.I smiled and looked at him without saying anything.A faint, almost playful smile played on Cyril's lips. He picked up the cards that had been face down on the table and slowly lifted his gaze toward the camera. In that instant, everyone held their breath, not wanting to miss a moment.Cyril then turned the cards over, revealing three blank poker cards!"What? They are blank cards for real?""Blank? How's that possible? Does that mean the so-called lucky Regina guessed wrongly?""Damn, I knew Regina was just faking it. There's no way she could've been this incredibly lucky. By the way, how did Ariel know the answer?""Yeah, this is no coincidence!"I glanced at the comments as a smile played on my lips.Of course I knew the answer. After all, they had been the reason for my death in my past life. I had seen Regina speak the

Cyril remained seated, fiddling with the three poker cards, showing no signs of revealing them. The comments grew frenzied again."What's he doing? Is he going to reveal the cards or not?""I know the answer, too. Get me there!"I glanced at the comments and disregarded them.Half an hour later, I arrived at the scene. The moment Regina spotted me, her jaw nearly dropped in shock."Ariel? What are you doing here? Do you have a death wish?"Her gaze quickly turned sharp, filled with disdain and a mocking edge. "Don't tell me you're going to claim that you're incredibly lucky, too."The moment she said that, the livestream was instantly filled with mocking comments."She's still riddled with wounds and still came anyway? Probably doesn't have much to her name.""Yeah, how dare she mess around with Cyril? She's probably going to end up dead."The barrage of comments was sharp and mocking like shards of ice, but I remained unruffled and gazed at Cyril quietly."Ms. Nichols, pl

At once, silence ensued for a moment before chaos erupted in the livestream again.Panic flickered across Regina's eyes, but she forced herself to remain calm. "I gave the correct answer! Are you doubting my luck?"At that moment, an abrupt sound of added stakes rang out."Reggie, don't worry. I trust you. You must've gotten the correct answer! There's no need to be scared!" It was Jack, spamming the same comment over and over. He had actually thrown his entire fortune into betting in her favor.Seeing that, Regina grew even more confident. "Jack, I won't let you down!"Right then, seated on the main seat, Cyril let out an icy snort. He casually toyed with the glass in his hand. The next second, it shattered in his grip. No one knew that it was a sign of Cyril's fury.Robin's face shifted instantly, darkness settling over his features. "Take this fraud down! How dare you deceive Mr. Mallet? You must have a death wish!"Regina howled, "No, you can't do this to me! How can y
