“I think the kids would love that…” I looked around, scanning the room for them. “Where are they anyway?”

Susanna’s room was oddly bright today and she had managed to remove every ounce of dough from the explosion. I hadn’t seen her so joyful and I knew it had something to do with tomorrow.

It was early evening but the dying sunlight still shined through the open windows. Susanna was mixing something for the kids, of course, and unfortunately, it wasn’t muffins. She called it orange crush pound cake and that made the whole room smell of orange soda and vanilla extract.

I watched what she did closely in case she ‘unintentionally’ added wolfsbang in it. I was also able to give the kids a good scolding for what they did. It would’ve been longer and worse if not for Susanna’s interference.

“They said they were going to Kane’s room. They were very giggly about it.” I’ve seen Susanna in aprons more than I have in normal clothes. This time she wore a yellow sheath with a white apron
