Arturo's POV

Upon hearing about the death of Lorenzo, I thought Avery was going to come home right after, but Alexis kept him locked in his room. I tried talking to Milan about why this happened and he kept saying that he doesn't know. I knew better than to trust him, but I was desperate. She said she will let him go once we give her what she wants.

Today's the day of her ascension ceremony, right after the day of Lorenzo's funeral. I got to talk to Avery on the phone yesterday, concerned that he might be devastated by his father's death. I was shocked to hear when he said he really didn't feel anything about his father's death. I could only guess that he didn't form a deep attachment with his father in that short amount of time, but I'm still surprised that he's handling this well.
