Chapter Six: Wolf Kingdom Part Three

Kiara, at age nine

Kiara POV:

Uh-oh! I was supposed to bow first and then introduce myself; I messed up.

"I'm sorry, Prince Rex; I shook your hand before I bowed. It was a mistake." I said, sad.

I hardly made mistakes, and I can't believe the very few I made were in front of the prince. What if he doesn't want to be friends with me anymore? For some reason, I wanted to be friends with him. I got this happy feeling when I was with my brothers; it was the feeling I was getting from him. I heard the prince laugh, pulling me by the hand and engulfing me in a hug.

Huh? Wasn't he supposed to be mad?

"Your funny, Kiki. Wanna be friends?" He said

I was shocked; I let go of him and smiled and nodded my head with the biggest smile on my face.

"But I thought I was your friend." I heard JJ huff from behind me. I turned around and saw his arms crossed over his chest. Huffing like the big bad wolf in little red riding hood. I giggled.

"We can all be friends," I said

Taking JJ's hand, I brought him closer and made him stand in front of Prince Rex.

"Prince Rex, this is my best friend Jacob, but I call him JJ sometimes. We can all be friends if that's okay with you?" I asked, silently hoping he would say yes. As much as it would be nice to be friends with a prince, I didn't want to leave JJ out; he was my best friend. We did everything together.

Prince Rex smiled, let out his hand for Jacob to shake, and introduced himself to JJ.

''Just call me Rex! We're all friends now anyway." Prince Rex, oops, I mean Rex said.

I giggled and nodded. JJ seemed excited too. Ha! I knew he liked princes and princesses too; he was too much of a boy to admit to it though! All three of us were broken out of our conversation when we heard multiple chuckles around us. Looking up, I blushed; I had totally forgotten I skipped the King and queen and went straight to Rex. What if they were mad and didn't let Rex be friends with me. I gasped. I quickly went in front of the King and queen and bowed.

"Hello, your highnesses. I'm sorry I didn't say hello to you first and went to Rex." I quickly said.

I wanted Rex to be my friend and still wanted to explore the castle, and I couldn't do that if the King and queen were mad at me!

"Rise, child; you don't need to bow so deep." I heard the King's amused voice.

He sounded amused; that was a good thing, right?

Skeptical, I stood up straight again and looked at them; they had amused grins on their faces.

"Your pretty one, aren't you. What's your name, sweetheart." The queen asked.

Yes! They weren't mad! That meant I could ask to explore their castle and even be friends with Rex. I grinned.

"Kiara, your majesty. But, my friends and family call me Kiki." I said.

The queen smiled.

"That's a beautiful name, just like you, sweetheart. I'm happy Rex finally made a friend; he's been so cooped up in his room. It's hard getting him out. Maybe you can infect him with that amazing energy you have." The queen said.

I smiled and nodded, making everyone laugh.

"This one is a ball of energy, Alpha Albert." Said the alpha king, Rowco. I think that was his name.

"You have no idea, your majesty." My dad said.

Huh? What was that supposed to mean? When they saw my offended expression, they all chuckled! I was distracted when Rex patted my shoulder.

"Do you and Jacob wanna come out back with me? I have a personal playground there?" Said Rex.

Personal playground? Goddess, yes! I loved playgrounds but hardly got time to play with all my training and classes. I looked up to my parents, silently asking if I could go. They both smiled and nodded.

"Yayy!" I yelled.

Rex grabbed my hand was tugged me in the other direction.

"Be careful, Rex." I heard the luna queen yell. Rex just yelled an okay and dragged me along with him with Jacob right behind us.

This was going to be fun. Maybe I can ask Rex to show me the castle. He would know all the secret passages as well. I grinned! Maybe it wasn't so bad they had all princes. I wonder where the other two princes were. Would they be as nice as Rex?

"Hey, Rex. Don't you have two older brothers?" I asked.

"Yeah Kayden and Jayden. They're supposed to be crowned Alpha king tomorrow. You're here for their coronation, right?" Said Rex.

I giggled at the rhyming names.

"Their names rhyme! and yeah, that's why we're here." I said.

Rex laughed.

"Yeah! I call them Kay and Jay. I'll introduce you to them! They're really nice!" Said Rex.

"By the way, what pack are you guys from, and how old are you and Jacob." Asked Rex.

Rex made them sound really nice! You could tell he really loved his brothers, just like I loved Kelix, Phoenix and Helix. I was excited to meet the new kings now; maybe they had a princess they would be marrying! The thought made me smile; I might see an actual princess after all.

"We're from Crescent Haven Pack. I'm ten, and Kiki is nine." Said Jacob.

Oops! I completely forgot to answer Rex when he asked me the question.

"Crescent Haven, nice! My brothers told me your pack is the second strongest pack in the kingdom. That's awesome. Oh, and I'm ten as well. You're the baby amongst us, Kiki." Said Rex, smirking at me.

Hump! I wasn't a baby!

"I'm not a baby! Plus, your both only a year older than me," I said, stomping my feet on the ground.

"Still a baby." Said Jacob, shrugging his shoulders and smirking alongside Rex at me.

"No, I'm not," I said; I was mad at this point.

"Yes, you are, Kiki. Just admit it!" Said Rex.

They were getting me really mad.

"If you don't stop calling me a baby, I will, I will...ah, yes, I will run into the forest, and when you won't be able to find me, then the King and queen plus our parents will get mad at you both," I said, triumphantly!

Both Rex and Jacob laughed. Huh? What? They weren't supposed to be laughing.

"Your too much of a baby to go in the forest alone." Said Rex.

"Yeah, Kiki, aren't you scared." Said Jacob.

Baby? Scared? No, I was an alpha's daughter! I wasn't scared of anything. I crossed my arms over my chest and looked at my annoying two friends.

"I'm not scared, and I'm not a baby." I huffed out.

"Prove it, then. Go into the forest and stay there for five minutes. If you do, Jacob and I will stop calling you a baby." Said Rex.

"Fine! But if I win. You, Rex, have to give me tour of the castle, showing me EVERYTHING, and you, JJ, have to accompany us." I said.

I was proud of myself for coming up with the idea, giving myself a mental pat on the back! I looked at them to accept my conditions. JJ grumbled under his breath but nodded in agreement, and so did Rex.

YES!

"Fine, see you in a few minutes," I said.

Turning around and walked into the forest that wasn't too far from where all three of us were standing. You can do this, Kiara, be strong like anna when she went to Elsa and strong like Belle when she went to save the beast. Straightening my shoulders, I walked in. I can do this!

Chapter Ninety-Seven: When Dreams Become Reality: The End!Kiara POV: My mind reels from the chaotic amalgam of the last 48 hours. It feels like a tornado had swept through our lives, leaving no corner untouched by its tempestuous winds. The kitchen had been a war zone, filled with the scent of burning pastries and a cacophony of squabbling caterers. The garden, the intended venue for the ceremony, had transformed into a floral battlefield where petals and thorns were the weapons of choice. Our usually disciplined musicians were discordant, hitting off-keys and false notes as if possessed. Tailors had made multiple trips for last-minute adjustments on suits and gowns. Yes, every conceivable disaster waiting to happen was on the cusp of unfolding. It was a miraculous brand of chaos that could only herald an extraordinary event—my wedding, to be precise.I look at myself in the floor-length, ornate mirror that Cathy had insisted on placing in the bridal room. The room itself is a cozy

Chapter Ninety-Six: Marry Us!Kiara POV: Life at the castle has shifted into a complex tapestry of laughter, challenges, and newfound responsibilities. Each day, I've steeped myself deeper into the nuances of being a Queen—mastering diplomatic dialogues, poring over historical scrolls, and even learning how to use my unique gifts to lead different packs.` Despite the intensities of my royal transition, the weight of the Aiden fiasco hangs like a dark cloud in the periphery of my thoughts. We've dealt with it as a united front, dishing out the raw brutality of Lycan justice, yet the uneasy feeling it sparked remains. But the castle seems to have moved on—everyone fully engrossed in their daily chores, secret conversations, and sporadic laughter that echoes through the corridors.Or so it appears.A discordant note has struck the otherwise harmonious rhythm of the castle—particularly with Kayden and Jayden. Both have been increasingly jittery, their eyes often meeting in what looks li

Chapter Ninety-Five: Retribution For AidenKiara POV: Life has a funny way of fooling you into thinking you've walked in a straight line, only to circle you back to where you started. One week. That's how long it had been since I came back. Three days since the medical ward released me, their diagnostics said I was fit to re-enter my everyday life. And just like that, it was as if I had never left.My mornings were as uproarious as ever. Rex, JJ, and I had resumed our relentless banter that would often escalate into full-blown, albeit harmless, verbal duels. Just this morning, Rex had pulled a face that was a comic blend of concern and mischief. "Your Highness, are you sure you're still equipped for royal duties? Being away must've dulled your royal snark."JJ chimed in, nudging Rex aside as he smirked. "Yeah, Kiki, we've gotta ensure our queen can still kick our asses on the regular, you know?"They seemed the same, but I sensed an added layer of protectiveness in their teasing, a

Chapter Ninety-Four: You're Home and SafeKiara POV: As consciousness edged its way back into my mind, I found myself wrapped in a cocoon of muffled voices, their words indecipherable but their tones unmistakably concerned. Among them, I could clearly distinguish Kayden's and Jayden's voices; they had a unique cadence that my heart recognized even when my mind was clouded. I couldn't help but let out a soft giggle at their anxious muttering; they were fussing like two mother hens over their single, most prized egg.I felt a gentle pressure on my hand. Someone—probably one of my mates—was holding it as if it were a fragile piece of glass. As much as I loved the feeling, I couldn't resist the temptation to open my eyes and rejoin the world I'd left behind, even if only briefly. When my eyelids finally fluttered open, the sight that met me was overwhelming in the most beautiful way. Gathered around my bedside in what looked like a well-furnished, softly lit infirmary room were the faces

Chapter Ninety-Three: Justice! Kiara POV: There's a quiet tension hanging in the air, a silence so loud it's nearly deafening. We've encamped just outside the boundaries of the BlackFang territory, under the cover of the dense forest that serves as a natural demarcation line between our worlds. The foliage above us rustles softly, a night symphony orchestrated by a wind that seems to carry the weight of our collective apprehensions and fears.Jayden, Kayden, and I stand on an elevated patch of land, looking down at the tableau of soldiers and warriors—both wolf and Lycan—preparing for the operation. Their faces are etched with a steely resolve, a far cry from the brotherly banter and laid-back demeanour that usually characterize our ranks.King Alistar's sons—Eamon, Faelan, and Declan—are with us, engrossed in a last-minute strategic discussion. The five of them huddle around a compact, portable table where a hastily drawn map of BlackFang territory is displayed. A collection of sma

Chapter Ninety-Two: What Is The Faith Of BlackFang? Kiara POV: The atmosphere in the room is so dense that I can feel it pressing against my skin. King Alistair's proposal hangs heavy in the air, like an unspoken oath that could either mend or further divide two long-feuding worlds. My heart races as I lock eyes with Kayden and Jayden, and I can feel their emotional turmoil blending with mine, sending waves of uncertainty and apprehension through our mental link. 'What do you think?' My mental voice quivers as I send the question through the link. My mates' eyes widen almost imperceptibly, and their mental voices echo in my head. 'It's a monumental decision, Kiara. We're not just speaking about alliances; we're talking about flesh and blood, a future generation,' Kayden's thoughts weave into mine, laced with caution and a sense of gravity. 'And what about freedom? The freedom to choose a mate, to fall in love naturally with her fated mate? Are we robbing our future daughter of
