Chapter 40
Slowly peeling both of her eyes open, Luna sat upright on her bed and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands while thinking about the time she spent together with Ares last night. She was too tired after they dined at one of the finest restaurants in the City. After dinner, Ares took her to the Land of Wonders, the tallest building in the Capitol, and he brought her to the rooftop where the entire City is widely seen.
They waited until midnight for the fireworks. She forgot that yesterday was Sunday, and the same day, the City has its tradition of ending the weekend with a fireworks display and their sign to welcome the week with noise, for they believe that the more noise you make, the more money will be earned come to you.
She heard a bark from Lunar, who jumped on her bed and wagging his tail, running towards her. Her eyes lit up when she saw the pup beaming with excitement. She missed this baby so much!
