The rainfall represented the tears that were pouring down my eyes in waves. So much that I could hardly see as my heart beat so loud and fast, I thought it was going to give up on me.

“No please!” I beg in the most desperate voice I've ever heard come out of me as my whole body shook with fear and pain. So much that I didn't care that I was humiliating myself even more by desperately begging, and crawling through the muddy floor.

He didn't even look at me

He didn't even care that I was loosing my mind.

My tears meant nothing to him.

“Don't reject me, I beg you!” I roared out as he opened his mouth to say the words that I knew very well would come out of his mouth with the way he looked at me with disgust.

“I, Alpha Ryder reject…” He started, and my chest immediately tore into pieces as a scream tore out of me.

It was one that woke the whole pack and had them at the scene in seconds.

The terror in my voice even had the warriors come out prepared, thinking there was an attack.

“...Yewa Rhalda as my mate.” He said without a care in the world, and left me there to carry the pain of being rejected on my own.

I didn't know it was possible and everyone still talked about how my human body produced the saddest wolf howl they had ever heard.

To them it was just a painful sight that rarely happened but was not impossible.

To them, I was just exaggerating

To them, I was a power hungry thief and only mourned that hard for him because I wanted to be Luna.

But I lost everything that day, including myself.

“Yewa, can you hear me?” I hear a familiar voice ask as bright light invaded my blurry eyes. As if opening my eyes wasn't painful enough, I immediately felt a sharp pain in my throat, down to my stomach.

I was not new to pain but this was gut wrenching.

It was like a thousand needles pricking me internally, and as much as I tried to not react, I couldn't.

“Do something!” I heard the General roar out as my low groans suddenly turned into terrified screams.

My whole body spasmed without my permission and as I trashed around, I felt someone hold me and although that did nothing much to relieve the sharp pain I felt inside, it gave me comfort.

So much comfort that I could not help but relax a bit.

The next few minutes were like that, and as the pain slowly subsided, I automatically became calmer and could now see my surroundings.

It was the General holding me, the doctor staring at me like I was a witch, and two women throwing me daggers with their eyes. A dagger that I threw right back.

“Why am I here?” I ask, somehow not remembering exactly what brought me here.

The last thing was the meal.

That meal

Oops.

“You knew it was poisoned, didn't you?” Mr. You know who asks as if he knew exactly what I was thinking, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, as although I derived not in annoying people, he looked like he would not hesitate to snap my neck, painfully slow.

Avoiding his gaze, I just stare at the ceiling blankly.

The dream still fresh and reliving that memory was gut wrenching.

“I'm talking to you.” He said again, the anger dripping from every word he spoke, and I immediately heard the other people in the room shuffling away, quietly.

They seemed to be so scared of him in this moment, and it piqued my curiosity because all he did was talk angrily.

“Leave me alone.” I said with my voice a little shaky, turning to look at him and immediately cleared my throat when I saw how he looked at me.

He was literally just very angry about a second ago and now he looked like he was worried about me.

I wondered for a bit whether he lost a few screws but soon realized that he was probably just annoyed that I didn't die.

Yeah, that makes more sense.

“Why are you trying to kill yourself?” He asks and I had to do a double take due to the tone of his voice as it sounded like he was genuinely concerned, but I was no fool.

I'm a commander from the tribe that he despises the most.

He knows that I have killed quite a number of his men.

I am a war hostage.

There is no reason why he should be concerned about me.

“If you want information about my pack, just ask for it. It's better for you to torture it out of me than pretend you're concerned.” I said to him, trying to stand up and remove the needles in my arm but the elbow that held me up, collapsed on me, and again, I was immediately enveloped again in his arms.

As soon as my brain registered that his skin touched mine, I immediately jump away from away from him like fire, taking him by surprise but he moved away.

While I understand that he was currently not trying to hurt me, I didn't want to be close to him or any other man.

I knew myself, and knew how easy it was for me to like the comfort his arms were providing.

If my love for a mate that I hadn’t even met yet didn't tell you, yeah that's me and I'll be damned if I I let anyone get to me like that again.

Breaking out of my thoughts, I see him move away from me and standing in the corner of the room.

He stood as still as a pole that was built into the room and just stared at me.

“You need to rest, I'll watch over you.” He said, folding his arms while still staring at me like a hawk.

“How can I possibly sleep when a tiger general is staring at me so intently. Who knows, you might just kill me in my sleep.” I said to him with a raised brow, obviously challenging him to banter with me, but he just sighed and walked towards the door which already made me smile because i thought i had annoyed him enough to leave me alone

“I mean, who would want to deal with that” I thought to myself, internally snickering, but my smile was once again wiped off my face by him doing the opposite.

Instead of walking out like I thought he would, he just pulled a chair and sat in front of me. Now, he was even closer than he was when he stood at the other side of the room.

“Sleep.”

The light footsteps that creeped on the staircase was one that would have made me wonder who it was that was coming towards my room, but their scents gave it away.I could tell that they tried to mask their scents but I still perceived a hint of who they were. With the Tigers, it was not the same as wolves as I could smell them by their ranks before their personal scents. For wolves, it was the opposite and usually it was not easy for wolves to easily detect the personal smell of a Tiger but I had been around them for a while to know this.My sense of smell was one of the things that made me stand out as a commander in the pack, so it was no shock that I could tell.As they approached, I heard them whisper in very silent hushes that were almost too low for me to hear, but I heard them as I placed my ears on the door to get myself as close to them as I possibly could.“Stupid werewolf, she'll see.” I kinda heard but as I pressed myself closer to hear, I smell him.Yes, the general. Was

“Open up.” He requested with a spoonful of porridge in front of my mouth.“I'm full and I'm okay enough to eat on my own.” I groan out for the hundredth time in the last two days but as usual, it fell on deaf ears.It had been two days since I woke up and since then, the only thing I had done by myself is bathe as the General would not let me do anything else.“You have barely eaten 5 spoons, you need at least two more. Now open up.” He asked, well more like ordered and it didn't sit with me the right way, so I just turned my face to ther side, hoping he would leave me alone as I had been as difficult as ever.“Please.” He said again and I immediately turned to him in shock with my mouth slightly parted, and some of my hair in face from how hard and fast, I turned. He had a frown on his face and actually looked like someone was forcing him but it was quite the opposite.I wanted to ask why he looked like he was being forced when I told him I didn't need it, but I just opened my mouth

“Take them all out!” The General yelled at the servant who put down the little pocket knife in between all that she was packing away, making her shake with fear as she picked it back up.I just stood there annoyed and confused as he ordered every metal, every sharp object and everything sharp that could cause bodily harm, to be removed from the whole palace. Everywhere except the kitchen.I could not help but roll my eyes at the exaggeration.“It’s my life! Not yours!” I yell at him, still standing in the middle of the chaos, and as expected, it ticked him off and he turned towards me in anger. With every step he took towards me, it took everything in me not to take a step back to create some distance between us but I stood my ground as I didn't want to seem scared of him.I wasn't.“Maybe a little?” My wolf added, and I groaned from the lack of not being able to give her a slap. She hadn't said anything for several days and I had already started to get worried but the animal was fin

Just twenty four hours in and I want to punch a hole in the wall until the either the building, or my hand collapses. I knew that being a maid was hard work but I also knew that it was not this hard and they were intentionally making it difficult for me, as expected, but what they didn't know was that I was not the one. “You scrubbed that?” The head maid whom I had come to hate so much questions and I nod in response. I hadn't even nodded fully when cold and a disgusting smell enveloped me as she threw smelly water on the concrete floor that I had just scrubbed. Turning to look at her in pure fury, I saw a smirk on her face and all I wanted to do was wipe it off. HARD. “You didn't scrub that well. Do it again.” She orders, pouring the remnants of the dirty water on me, slowly and deliberately and that was it. I had it with her. It had just been a day but I had been thrown in mud and now doused in smelly water. Before she could turn and laugh with the others who were already la

  • Twisted Fates In A Tiger's Eyes    Chapter 3

“Still stubborn I see.” One of the men stated as I was made to kneel in front of a huge crowd, and it made me smile. Stubborn was better than weak. A weakness is what I know they will never find in me. I was once the weakling. The one who took all the abuse The belittling. I swore to never be out in that position and get again and I stand by it, even if I felt a bit of fear, I swallowed it and held my head high. “You talk too much.” I responded with an annoyed tone, as I had it with the delay. I would prefer they just did it and relieved me of the drama. I could see that they wanted me to beg for my life, but I would rather be torn to pieces. Kneeling in front of a crowd that clamored for my death surprisingly made me feel nothing. They were just in front of me but it felt like an echo and I couldn't understand why. Maybe because I had accepted my fate with my head held high, or maybe my wolf has resigned, leaving me to fend for myself in this moment, or I was just used to b
