Samantha's POV:
The next day, I walked into work with a huge smile on my face. I blushed thinking about the events of the previous day. Nate was so damn sweet and the way he cared about me even though I pushed him away showed how much I really meant to him. He was perfect and I was willing to give this a try because he made me feel safe and comfortable. I was able to tell him things that I've never told anyone before and it felt nice to open up to him.
"Ms. Perez, can you hear me?" The voice of David and his hand waving infront of my face brought me back to present.
"Uhh... I'm sorry, what?" I asked in confusion as I walked towards my office and he kept following me like a lost puppy.
"Ms. Perez, you didn't show up for the meeting yesterday and we just lost our investors. The HR department is pissed off." He rushed out and I stopped walking.
Holy fuck!
"Are you serious?
Nate's POV:"Are you sure you can cook? We can order take out or pizza anytime you know." I teased, leaning against her kitchen counter as she kept chopping on the vegetables."I made a mistake. I should have asked you to come over after I was done cooking," she glared at me and continued to focus on the potatoes."Why? Am I distracting you by being all hot and sexy?" I smirked, raising my eyebrows and she rolled her eyes."More like being annoying," she muttered under her breath, making me laugh. I kept watching her every move like a hawk and she stopped her work, placing her hands on her hip."Fine. I'll look away." I raise
Nate's POV:"And done." I saved the file on my computer and turned towards Ryan. We were finally done with the upgrade and I couldn't be more relieved."Thank fuck! This was way more challenging, man." He sighed, resting back against his seat."Tell me about it," I shook my head and picked up my phone. That's when I remember about that weird text from Amy last night. I wondered if it was okay to tell him about it."So how are things with you and Amy?" I asked, trying to sound causal and he frowned."Nah, man. I don't think it's going to work out. I tried to ask her out twice and she shot me down," he shrugged and I nodded in
Sam's POV:I got up from my desk after he left in such a rush and wore my clothes properly. A small smile crept on my face thinking about what he said but he panicked and left immediately assuming that I would freak out or something. He didn't even wait for me to reply and I was a little worried. What if he regrets what he said?I was in love with him too.I finally admitted it to myself and I wanted to tell him. I've never been in love before but I knew what I felt for Nate was something stronger that I have never experienced in my life. He made me feel so alive and happy and I didn't want to lose him in my life. I decided to confess my feelings later that evening at
Samantha's POV:"Ouch!" I retracted my hand from the pan immediately as it was still hot. After taking it down from the stove carefully, I tasted my sweet corn soup and sighed in relief. It wasn't that bad. I was running late already and Nate would be here in 10 mins. I removed my apron and rushed towards the balcony with my soup to check if everything else was perfect. Feeling satisfied with my work, I let out a huge sigh and made my way towards my bedroom. Just when I was about to cross the living room, I heard my phone go off and I picked it up from the coffee table. It was Tabitha."Hey, Can we discuss this later? I'm kinda running late," I rushed, looking at the clock that was hanging on the wall in front of me.
Nate's POV:I gazed at her in confusion as she went silent, looking down at her phone."All okay, babe?" I asked, rubbing her back and she walked away from me, rushing outside the balcony. She was scaring the fuck out of me now. We just had a magical moment and I couldn't understand why she was upset."Ummm...I think you should leave. I'll call you later, Nate." She spoke with no emotion in her voice and her back was facing me.What the fuck?"No offense, baby. But honestly, are you fucking crazy?" I asked her, pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration.
Nate's POV :"I still can't believe it, man." Ryan kept staring at me in shock as I kept gazing at the wall behind him, lost in my thoughts."Why would someone try to ruin her career?" I groaned in frustration. I hated the fact that she was at home jobless. I missed her so damn much and badly wanted to figure out this whole mess. I kept thinking of all the possibilities and none of it made sense.Everything seemed perfectly planned."Someone has framed you too, Nate. You got to be careful and next time you leave your desk, please lock your system." Ryan spoke in a concerned voice and I nodded in understanding. I started to think about all the people who has visited my cubicle except
Nate's POV:"She actually slapped you?" Sam asked me again. We were in her house, lying on the bed. It was around 9 pm and I had just told her about what happened back at the office."Yes!" I snapped, making her pout. This was the third time she was asking me and I was pissed off already."Jeez! Fine." She rolled her eyes and was about to get up from the bed but I pulled her by her waist, making her fall on top of my chest."I'm sorry, baby. I'm just stressed out about this whole situation." I kissed her nose, trying to cheer her up."That doesn't mean you have to snap at me like that. I don't even care anymore, N
Samantha's POV:I was told to wait outside a room and I kept tapping my feet nervously. I was surprised to see that I was the only person waiting. The company was huge and the job paid really well. I couldn't understand why no one else showed up so I browsed through the website on my phone and noticed that the hiring advertisement for this company was no longer available.Weird.I shook my head, brushing it aside and mentally prepared myself for the interview."Ms. Perez?" I turned my head to sound of my name and saw a petite young asian woman, gesturing me to follow her. I stood up, straightening out my skirt and followed her silently."You may enter now," she smiled at me politely and walked away. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door."Come in," I heard a rough yet familiar voice and pushed the door open slowly. The sight before me knocked t
