I stare blankly at the new set of makeup I just acquired with my first pay as an intern. My mind can't seem to focus on them.

Suddenly Olivia jumps from her seat abandoning her painting. “Uncle Nathan!” she squeals.

I raise my head to see Nathan, arms wide open, a big smile on his face, beckoning Olivia to jump in. Which my little girl didn't hesitate to do. She enjoys this—Nathan lifting her high in the sky and swinging her while she giggles until she's out of breath.
