Need a Hand?

Before I could even ask Isaiah what he meant, a soothing scent of what reminded me of fresh rain and cedar trickled into my nose, calming me for just a second before I heard a booming voice.

“What the Hell is going on?!”

The voice alone sent the calming sensation away instantly and goosebumps rose in my pale skin, reminding me that I had no clue what was happening; a few people froze with what I thought was fear and others seemed to just accept what was coming.

I knew I should've stayed home!

Isaiah quickly stood up and took my hand, he pulled me off the couch and away from the incoming footsteps, the lights that had since been the life of the party now seemed silly as they moved on the wall.

My feet moved quickly and right as Isaiah rounded the corner, Isaiah immediately stopped as we came face to face with the man I assumed belonged to the booming voice; I held onto Isaiah’s hand tighter, a growl ripped through the too warm air, or maybe it was my heart exploding with utter fear, and my eyes shot down not straying from my black flat dressed feet.

“Isaiah Bramms,” That voice is what I imagined a thunderstorm to sound like. “Let the girl go,”

My throat tightened as Isaiah let my hand fall and I visibly shivered; gradually my eyes looked up as my breathing felt all too loud or maybe it was my heart, I could've choked on my own saliva as I came face to face with what I assumed someone crafted by God looked like.

In front of me stood a tall man. His skin of gold was complimented by dark pools of charcoal eyes, matching curls of hair, and even though he wore a long sleeve shirt, there was no doubt in my mind the muscles that laid beneath. It was like all my book characters had come to life.

And he looked pissed.

His dark brows were furrowed with anger and although I knew we were in deep shit, I felt… Safe?

“What's your name?” The stranger asked me, features softening, his eyes flashing with some unknown emotion, and I answered without thinking.

“Valerie Wright, sir,”

His lips twitched and it felt like time stopped but as quick as it came, the moment passed and Isaiah opened his mouth; for once I wish he hadn't.

“Alpha, I-”

The stranger's angry look appeared once again as his dark eyes snapped to Isaiah and as his brows pulled together, I couldn't help but wonder what the hell Isaiah meant by alpha… What the heck is that?

Isaiah quickly moved to stand by another guy I had recognized from earlier.

“Get these people out of the pack house and back to wherever they came from,” Oddly calm was his voice now and peeling my eyes away from the sculpted man in front of me as he turned to face Isaiah, his back now facing me, I finally saw Austyn behind the man.

She kinked her neck to the side and following her line of sight, I saw William by the front door motioning me to follow. Slowly I backed up as Isaiah began to apologize to the man and I snuck out the door with Austyn quick on my heels.

Together the three of us dashed to the car as snow flurries fell and the white powder crunched under our feet which seemed so loud against the silent landscape. How Austyn moved so quickly on the snow with her red high heels was beyond me but by the time we got to the car and got in, the snow had started to really pick up. Flurries hit the backseat window I looked out of so fast I didn't even have time to memorize the unique patterns and I could hear each little landing with a flick noise.

“Who was that?” The words left me as William started his little Honda, Austyn automatically cranking the heat that turned on with a loud woosh and William huffed as the car cranked.

“No idea Valerie, and I don't want to find out either,”

“Then fucking drive!” Austyn squealed.

“It won't fucking start!” William yelled, cranking the car over again and again. Each crank let out a harsh high pitched eeee sound; now thankful I wore the sweater as the cold air started to set in around us.

“Oh shit,” Austyn spat, all of our eyes zipping up to the rearview mirror.

A pair of bright LED headlights came about, growing larger as they got closer, and I bit my lip - are we gonna go to jail for trespassing? Would William and Austyn get caught for underage drinking?

Questions flew in my head faster than lightning and I felt the stinging sensation bite at my eyes, sweat gathering in my palms, and as I tried to even my breathing, a big black truck pulled up beside us.

All of us seemed to hold our breath as the driver side door opened then shut harshly, a tall figure walking around the front and up to William’s door, and with a knock knock we all watched as William slowly turned the key just enough for the battery on the car to work just a bit.

He rolled the window down, cold air rushing in with the cedar scent heavy on my nose.

“Need a hand?”

A hand lingered on my waist and a pair of lips kissed my earlobe, my feet tangled up with someone else's, and as my eyes fluttered open, I could see the day break push past the cream colored curtains.“Good morning, doll,” a husky voice whispered into my ear, and I felt so happy to know that last night wasn’t just some dream - it really happened. “I got you some toast and eggs if you’re hungry,”Smiling, I sat up. “Thank you,” Looking over, Kallen lazily smiled, his grey eyes seemed to be dreamy, and since he was still shirtless, I let myself have a small peek.Damn.He definitely had a six-pack, and I could see the darkened lines of a scar, one I hadn’t noticed last night, swooping from his hip and over his stomach. I wanted to ask, but again, that emotional line needn't be crossed, especially since I didn’t know how long this was to last.Kallen got up and handed me a plate of warm food, one for himself, and together, we ate in silence. The eggs were topped with a gooey cheese, and

Valerie's POV I couldn’t help but wonder what workout routine Kallen had as his back faced me, filling out his red sweatshirt that complimented his golden skin tone beautifully, and I could just imagine how strong those hands of his were. I have never seen such a God like man in my life, only ones I knew of existing in my fantasies and books.“This can be yours,” He spoke over his shoulder before opening a dark wood door, one of the two in this hallway, and led me inside; the inside looked just like the one I had slept in last night, minus the pullout couch and there were a few more paintings that covered the walls. Smiling, I sat down on the bed. My fingers grazed over the soft quilt beneath me. “Thank you Kallen,” Saying his name sent shivers down my spine and I thought back to the spark like feeling I got everytime we touched today. Kallen’s eyes of grey lightened and he sat down on the bed beside me, his eyes tracing over my features and I couldn’t help but feel insecure. “You’

William and Austyn had no trouble sleeping in and instead of trying to have a repeat of last night, I stayed on the pull out couch and read my book, ignoring the two snoring beasts behind me, and with a sigh I looked up every so often just to see the snow hadn't stopped. The room was warm with the scent of cinnamon and vanilla, and every so often, I could hear people walk past and I couldn’t help but wonder why Kallen -if it was truly his- would have such a giant house… Did he have his own family? He didn’t seem like he was much older than me but I guess I do know a girl who dropped out last year to have a baby. She was only fifteen. Maybe Kallen had kids young? Maybe not.I pushed the thoughts away as they seemed to make a cloud loom over me with heaviness… It took about another hour or so for Austyn to wake up, pee, and push William out of the bed. “Wake up William,” She groaned and as he hit the ground with a quick oomph, William was quick to stand.“That… That was the best night

The room was quiet when I entered, the snow that fell outside illuminated the room just enough that I was able to make it across the plush cream colored carpet, past the bed that held two snoring lovers, and plumping down on the pullout couch, I was surprised how comfortable it felt. I kept my clothes on, not caring that I probably smelt like weed, and as I got cozy, I thought of a certain God-like man: Kallen. His body was not only made up of height but also of broadness, his shoulders wide, and I could only imagine the golden skin of what his most-than-definitely-has abs would look like; a six pack? Eight? My fingertips longed to know. But I pushed the thoughts away, ignoring a warm sensation that gathered between my legs and closed my eyes, drifting away.*“Valerie,” A deep voice whispered into my ear, a hot cloud of breath dancing up the side of my earlobe and sending shivers down my spine as I laid on the couch; a large hand, one that was no stranger to work slid over my expos

The night seemed to drag as William and Austyn snored together. The pullout couch was comfortable, but I missed my bed. The window in the room kept my boredness away for quite some time as I watched the never-ending snow fall. However, I couldn’t fall asleep. Maybe it was the fact I couldn’t stop being on edge about this whole situation, or maybe it was the grey eyes that kept flashing in my thoughts, but I couldn’t relax.Deciding on a walk, I gathered my book and quietly made my way down the long hallway; the chandelier lights above were now dimmed, and quietness fell throughout the house. My footsteps seemed loud.Settling down on the couch I had sat on earlier, I let out a heavy sigh and opened my book.*The sun set with colors of yellows, pinks, and distant purples as we walked hand in hand through the trees; around us birds flew into their homes for the night and I couldn’t help the smile which painted my face.We stopped, and I was pulled into his chest, his scent gathering aro

  • Two Fated Mates   The Stranger

The stranger who must’ve owned the house smiled mockingly as he took in Williams' terrified look, snow falling even faster and heavier around us, and the three of us in the car blinked blankly.“I know you all know the house is big enough for a few guests and seeing as your car is still on my road, turned off may I add, and that the snow has taken a liking to fucking us all, you might as well spend the night,”Each word he spoke was like a deep growl and I tried to push back this feeling of warmth that tried to settle in my bones when he spoke; maybe it was just all the second hand smoking of pot I had done tonight. “I- I, um,” William stuttered, his hand going up to scratch his cheek. The stranger's lips tugged slightly as he watched William squirm underneath his gaze, power and authority pooled around him and as his eyes now seemed like a lighter grey, snow landing delicately in his dark black lockets of hair. He seemed broad as he leaned down into the car window, arms holding the
