Kaden stood in front of me, crossing his arms. “Your friend is worried about you, Seraya. So let’s just go back,” he said again when he noticed I wasn’t moving.

I narrowed my eyes at him. “Did Tess tell you I was here? Did she tell you I was planning to leave?” I asked, hoping, praying that he would say no.

“I wouldn’t say she told me exactly,” Kaden replied with a small shrug. “But no one can lie under an Alpha’s command and also she didn’t do a great job hiding her emotions either. Her face said it all.”

I sighed, heart sinking. “Whatever.”

Bending down, I tried to gather the fruits from the ground and stuff them back into the torn bag, but they kept slipping out and rolling away. My fingers were shaking, and the more I tried, the more annoyed I became.

I let out a deep, frustrated sigh. Then suddenly, I heard a chuckle from Kaden. I turned sharply to look at him. “Did you just laugh?” I asked, shocked.

Kaden actually chuckled again, like he found something amusing.

I stared at him

  • Two Wolves, One Omega   Chapter 173

After walking for what felt like ten long minutes, we finally saw a small light at the end. I was weak and tired and every step I took made me hurt from the cuts the wolf had given me. I forced myself to stay up, but deep down I knew I was not in the best state to fight again. My body needed time to heal, and I wasn’t sure I could survive another fight if someone waited for us outside.I walked slowly as we reached the end of the tunnel. My wolf pushed inside me, telling me to be alert and scan around for danger. I lifted my hand to stop Moses and the females from moving forward because I needed to be the one to step out first.Taking a deep breath, I jumped out of the tunnel entrance and landed low to the ground, my eyes darting around the place. My head turned fast, scanning the trees. I searched for movement and raised my nose to the air for any scent, for anything that could show another threat and I was ready to attack if I had to, but everywhere was quiet. I didn’t see an

We kept moving, not in complete silence because of the sounds of our footsteps and the shallow breaths of the weak female. Every now and then, I glanced back to make sure Moses was still with us. He met my eyes once and gave me a nod.The deeper we went, the more I thought about Caleb. He would be back soon, and when he found the place empty, he would know that I had caught him and he would try to kill me to silence me and I didn’t want that. I wanted to make sure if at all he’s going to find out about this, it happened on the pack grounds. I quickened my pace. “Move faster,” I ordered. The female I had pushed in front of me tripped at my words but pushed herself to keep up. I could feel the tunnel start to slope upward now. That was a good sig because it meant we were close to the exit.We had not gone far whe I heard a sound. It sounded like it was far away but it was still clear. The tunnel was quiet, so every little noise would be loud. “Stop,” I said quickly, raising my hand

Kaden’s POV “You need to leave immediately, Alpha. Caleb is seen leaving the pack grounds.” A voice came through the mind link urgently.“Shit,” I muttered under my breath, my teeth gritting as I turned in a circle, scanning the room again. My thoughts were everywhere as I tried to think of what to do but nothing useful came to my head. I looked at the door once more, but the silver and wolfsbane around it made it impossible for what I wanted to do. .I glanced at the windows, hoping maybe they were a way out, but my hope died the moment I saw them properly. Thick iron bars sealed every one of them shut which meant that if I broke the glass, there was no way we were getting past those bars in time.I cursed again, my jaw tight. There was no way out, no way at all. Caleb definitely knew what he was doing when he built this house and I can’t wait to find out what he was hiding. Let me just get out of here first. As I stood there trying to think, the first female said suddenly, snap

“Why?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at her. “Give me one reason why I should turn around and pretend like I didn’t see her.”She hesitated, biting her bottom lip like she was thinking whether or not she should speak or keep quiet. But the longer she stayed silent, the more it told me that whatever she was hiding was big. Talk,” I demanded, my voice rough, “before I decide to drag the both of you back and get the answers my way.”I wanted to know exactly who that first rogue was… and why this one was willing to stand between me and her and stop me from finding her. I stared at her for a few minutes and her silence was already telling me she wasn’t going to say anything useful. My patience was already thin, and I wasn’t about to waste it on someone like her.“You know what,” I muttered coldly, shaking my head. “I’m not going to bother asking you any more questions.”Her eyes widened slightly, wondering what I was about to do. “If you won’t talk, then I’ll just drag out the first fem

The female glanced at me once more, her eyes darting towards the open space behind her. I knew that look and I could tell that she was about to run but before she could take a step, Moses appeared behind her, blocking her path completely. The moment she saw him, she let out a loud scream, the kind that could bring unwanted attention if anyone was close enough to hear. Moses moved towards her quickly, probably to grab her and keep her quiet, but she swung the stick in her hands at him with all her strength and Moses had to step back fast to avoid getting hit. I noticed the way he moved carefully around her. He wasn’t trying to fight her back. Her grip on the stick tightened and her whole body was trembling. She swung the stick at him again, forcing him to step back once more, his jaw tightening in frustration. He could have easily disarmed her if he wanted to but he didn’t.I wasn’t enjoying the back and forth between the both of them and we needed to let her know who’s in control. I

  • Two Wolves, One Omega   Chapter 168

Kaden’s POV “What was a female wolf doing locked up in this place? And not just any wolf, she was also a rogue and that also explained why she didn’t listen to my Alpha’s command earlier. Rogues don’t submit to Alpha orders if they weren’t a member of the pack, so it made sense. Still, the sight of her here, in this strange house in the middle of the woods, didn’t make sense at all.I took a slow step towards her, my eyes on her face, trying to read her expression. The moment I moved, she immediately pressed herself further into the corner of the wall, her back against it like she was trying to disappear into it. She whimpered softly, her eyes wide and full of fear.Did she really think I was going to hurt her? Why would I harm an unarmed, harmless female? Yes, she was a rogue, but that alone wasn’t enough reason for me to attack or kill her. If she had done nothing wrong to me or my pack, then I had no reason to harm her.Her voice was trembling as she spoke, the words tumbling out
