Priest's Housekeeper: Part 1

The rectory smelled like old wood and lemon polish when I arrived.

Father Tobias met me at the side door with a quiet smile and took my single suitcase before I could protest. He was younger than most of the priests I had known growing up—early thirties, dark hair, the kind of calm face that made people lower their voices without thinking. The black clerical shirt and white collar looked ordinary on him until you noticed how well the clothes fit across his shoulders.

“You must be Lena,” he said. “Come in. I’ll show you the room.”

The house sat behind the church, connected by a short covered walkway. Two floors, simple furniture, clean in the way of places that saw more duty than comfort. He led me up a narrow staircase and opened the door to a small bedroom at the end of the hall.

“This will be yours. Bathroom is across the way. My room is at the other end. The kitchen and laundry are downstairs. You’re free to use whatever you need.”

I stepped inside. A single bed, a wooden dresser, a window that looked out over the small garden behind the church. The mattress was firm. The sheets smelled like sunlight and soap.

“Thank you,” I said. “For the job. And the room.”

“The parish is glad to have the help. Mrs. Ruiz retired last month and the place has been showing it.” He set my suitcase by the dresser. “Dinner is at six if you’re hungry. Nothing formal. I usually cook something simple.”

He left me to unpack.

I hung my few dresses and blouses in the narrow closet, set my toiletries in the bathroom, and sat on the edge of the bed for a long minute. The house settled around me with quiet creaks and the distant sound of a clock ticking somewhere downstairs. Living here would be different from the shared apartment I had left. No roommates. No city noise. Just the rectory, the church next door, and the man who lived under the same roof.

I went downstairs at six.

Father Tobias was in the kitchen, sleeves rolled to the elbows, stirring something in a pot. The scent of garlic and tomatoes filled the space. He glanced over his shoulder and nodded toward the small table near the window.

“Sit. It’s ready.”

We ate pasta and bread in relative silence. He asked about my previous work. I told him about the café job that had ended when the place closed, and the listing I had seen for a live-in housekeeper at the rectory. He listened more than he spoke, the same steady attention he probably gave to confession.

“Your duties are straightforward,” he said once the plates were clear. “Cleaning, laundry, some light cooking if I’m pulled away for parish calls. The church itself has its own volunteers for the sanctuary. You’re only responsible for the house.”

“I understand.”

“Good. There’s no curfew, but the doors lock at ten. If you’re out later, take a key.” He stood and collected the dishes. “I’ll handle these tonight. You should rest. Tomorrow we can go over the schedule.”

I offered to help anyway. He shook his head once, polite but firm, and I left him to the sink.

My room felt quieter that night. I lay in the single bed and listened to the sounds of the rectory—the faint movement of Father Tobias downstairs, the settling of old floorboards, the occasional car passing on the street beyond the garden. Sleep came slowly. I kept thinking about the short hallway that separated my door from his, and the simple fact of sharing a house with a man who wore a collar and spoke in that low, measured voice.

Morning came early.

I rose at six, dressed in a simple blouse and skirt, and started in the kitchen. Coffee first. Then the counters, the floor, the small pile of dishes left from the night before. Father Tobias came down while I was wiping the table. He was already in his clerical shirt, collar in place, hair still slightly damp from a shower.

“You’re up early,” he said.

“Habit.”

He poured coffee into a mug and leaned against the counter while I finished. The kitchen felt smaller with both of us in it. I became aware of the way my blouse fit across my chest, the practical length of my skirt, the fact that I had not yet learned the rhythms of moving around him in these rooms.

“I’ll be in the church for morning Mass,” he said. “Then parish visits until early afternoon. You have the house to yourself until then. There’s a list on the fridge of the rooms that need the most attention.”

“I’ll get started.”

He nodded, took his coffee, and left through the side door that led to the covered walkway. I watched him go—the straight line of his back, the quiet confidence of his walk—and then turned to the list.

The morning passed in ordinary work. Dusting. Vacuuming. Changing the linens in the guest room that rarely saw guests. I found the laundry closet and started a load of towels. The rectory stayed quiet around me. Every so often I caught the faint sound of the organ from the church next door, or the distant voices of people leaving Mass.

By midday the house felt more familiar. I had learned which floorboards creaked, which windows stuck, where the extra cleaning supplies were kept. I made a simple lunch from what I found in the fridge and ate it standing at the counter, looking out at the small garden.

Father Tobias returned a little after two.

I heard the side door open and close, then his footsteps in the hall. He appeared in the kitchen doorway still in his clerical clothes, the white collar bright against the black shirt. There was a faint sheen of sweat at his temple from the walk back in the afternoon heat.

“Everything all right?” he asked.

“Fine. I finished the main rooms and started the laundry.”

“Good.” He glanced at the clean counters, the folded towels on the table, the general order I had restored. Something like quiet approval moved through his expression. “You’re thorough.”

“I try to be.”

He held my gaze for a second longer than necessary, then nodded once and went upstairs. I heard the soft close of his bedroom door, then the sound of water running in the bathroom. A shower.

I returned to the laundry and the remaining tasks on the list, the ordinary work of keeping a house, while the knowledge of him moving through the rooms above me settled under my skin in a way I chose not to examine too closely.

The job was simple.

The living arrangement was clear.

And already the quiet of the rectory felt less like peace and more like the start of something I had no name for yet.

I booked the same hotel thirty-two days later. Same floor. Same request at the front desk for a quiet room toward the end of the hall. When the clerk slid the key card across the counter I almost asked for 614 on purpose, then stopped myself. The number didn’t matter. The unlocked door would do the work. I rode the elevator alone, found my assigned room, and stepped inside. The layout was identical—bed against the wall, desk near the window, bathroom with the same glass shower stall. I set my bag down, removed every piece of clothing, and left the pile on the chair. Then I unlocked the door, left it open two inches, and sat on the edge of the bed to wait. Forty minutes passed. Footsteps stopped outside. The door pushed open. Noah stood in the threshold the same way I had the first time—travel bag over one shoulder, dark jeans, a button-down with the sleeves rolled. He took in the open door, the empty hallway behind him, and the fact of me sitting naked on the bed. The corner of hi

We didn’t make it to the bed right away. I stood in the middle of the hotel room with the towel wrapped loosely around me while Noah dried off. Water still beaded along his shoulders. His cock hung heavy between his thighs, slick from the shower and from me. The wrong-key mistake had already become something else entirely, and both of us knew it. He dropped his towel and crossed the space between us. One hand tugged mine open and let it fall. The cool air of the room tightened my nipples at once. Noah looked at me for a long second—bare, still wet between the legs with his come, standing in a stranger’s room like I belonged there—then backed me toward the wide window. The glass was cold against my back. City lights blurred through the sheer curtain. “Again,” he said. He lifted one of my thighs, hooked it over his hip, and pushed back into my cunt in a single thrust. I was still slick from the shower and from him. The stretch pulled a raw sound from my throat. Noah fucked me agains

I closed the distance. Three steps brought me to the bathroom threshold. Steam still hung in the air and clung to my clothes. Noah stood fully naked on the mat, water beading along his shoulders and chest, his cock now heavy and half-hard between his thighs. He watched me approach without moving to cover himself. The towel stayed on the floor where he had dropped it. “Last chance to turn around,” he said. “I’m not turning around.” Something satisfied moved through his expression. He reached out, took the strap of my duffel from my shoulder where it had started to slip again, and tossed the bag onto the carpet behind me. Then his hands settled on my waist, warm and damp from the shower, and pulled me the final inch into the bathroom. The tile was cool under my shoes. His body radiated heat. I could smell the hotel soap on his skin and the cleaner scent of water. My nipples had drawn tight against the inside of my bra; the friction of the fabric felt suddenly unbearable. Noah’s ey

The key card blinked green on the third try. I was tired, duffel bag heavy on one shoulder, the long train ride still sitting in my bones. The hallway of the hotel stretched quiet and identical in both directions—beige carpet, soft wall sconces, the low hum of the air system. Room 614. That was what the front desk had given me. I pushed the handle down and stepped inside. The room was already occupied. Steam drifted from the open bathroom door. The shower ran full force. A man’s clothes lay folded over the chair near the window—dark jeans, a gray button-down, a watch left on the desk beside a half-drunk bottle of water. The bed was untouched. A suitcase stood open on the luggage rack. I froze just past the threshold, the door still open behind me. “Hello?” My voice came out thinner than I intended. The shower continued. No answer. I should have backed out immediately, checked the number again, returned to the front desk. Instead I took another step inside and let the door swing

Morning light cut through the living room blinds earlier than I wanted. I woke stiff on the sectional, the throw blanket twisted around my legs. Mia was already up and moving in the kitchen—cabinet doors, the coffee grinder, ordinary sounds that felt too loud. The cushion under me still held a faint scent of sex and whiskey. My panties were stiff with the dried evidence of the night before. Every small shift sent a dull reminder through my cunt of how hard he had fucked me while his daughter slept a few feet away. I sat up and fixed my tank top. Mr. Hale was nowhere in sight. Mia appeared in the doorway with two mugs. “You’re awake. Dad’s in the shower. He said he’d drive you home after coffee so you don’t have to wait for the bus.” “Okay.” She handed me a mug and dropped onto the opposite end of the couch like nothing in the room had changed. I drank the coffee too fast and listened to the water running upstairs. The sound of it made my skin warm all over again. I kept my thigh

His fingers worked inside me in steady strokes while Mia slept only a few feet away. I kept my face pressed to his shoulder to muffle the sounds I couldn’t hold back. Mr. Hale’s thumb rubbed tight circles over my clit. The wet noise of his fingers moving in my cunt felt too loud in the quiet living room. Every time Mia shifted under her blanket my whole body tensed, but she only mumbled and settled again. “Look at me,” he whispered. I lifted my head. His eyes were dark and heavy with the same need that had me shaking against his hand. He watched my face while he curled his fingers and pressed harder against the sensitive spot inside me. The pressure built fast. My thighs trembled. I bit down on my own lip to stay silent as the pleasure coiled tighter. “Come,” he said, barely audible. “Do it quietly.” The order broke me. My cunt clenched around his fingers in hard pulses while I shook against him, a raw sound trapped in my throat. He worked me through every wave, slowing only when
