THE BAIT OF LOVE

Early in the morning the following day, 'Malebo made a mixture of local herbs for Dinny as promised.She instructed Lebo on how Dinny should use them and sent him to deliver them.Lebo wasn't pleased with his mother waking him up so early but on the other hand, he was happy that his mother was helping in Dinny's recovery.Lebo slipped into his comfy sweatpant, sneakers and a sweater because the weather was a bit chilly.

He arrived at Dinny's home slightly before sunrise.He knocked upon arriving but it seemed people were still asleep.He opted to call Dinny, she answered after a few seconds and she went to let him inside.She smiled and gave him a hug, letting him come inside.He stretched his hands and gave her the herbs he had brought to her.Dinny reached out for them and thanked him for delivering them.She put her phone on the counter on purpose and told Lebo that she wants to freshen up so she could prepare him tea before he left.

As soon as she left, Lebo's eyes were fixed at her phone.She contemplated on whether to go through her w******p chats or just leave things as they were.Her phone had no password so it was easier to go through her chats.Messages between her and Max were on the top list.He went through them but he was disappointed at the outcome.It seemed like Max was indeed Dinny's ex-classmate.Lebo found out through their conversation.

Dinny was always a step ahead.She had purposely left the phone at the counter next to him.She even knew that he would want to find out about Max because the other day when they were at the mall, he asked about him.She had switched the names on her contact list and placed Max's on those of her former classmates.Automatically, the w******p chats were also switched.She couldn't risk him finding out about Max this sooner.It had to be a scene for another day.

His eyes and mixed were both on the phone so much that he didn't notice Dinny standing behind him.Her arms were folded, she smiled when she noticed he had fallen for her trap.After some minutes, she cleared her throught in attempt to make him aware of her presence.He was now in the sitting room.He sat with his back facing Dinny's bedroom that is why she appeared from his back.He quickly put the phone on the coffee table when he heard her clearing her throught.

He lied, pretending he was just searching for their pictures together.Dinny smiled in satisfaction.She wanted to see him at his lowest, this was just the beginning.Lebo couldn't even put himself to look her in the eyes.He was caught right in action.Even though she didn't ask him anything about the phone he felt the tension between them.He excused himself, saying he had some errands to run along the coarse of the day.

She didn't let him get away.She wanted to watch him sip coffee in embarrassment. "I'm gonna prepare you breakfast.I know it's still early but I won't let you leave without having breakfast with me." He felt a bit relieved that she was offering him breakfast.She prepared him toasted bread, half done eggs with tomatoe and a sausage on the side.Instead of coffee, she gave him rooibos tea.

He made complementary comments about the breakfast she prepared.He was still uncomfortable, when he tried to sip his tea, the tea cup felt so heavy.Poor man, he was trembling.This brought more joy to her.She felt in control and she even added more cherry to the cake. "I set up set up see you are trembling, are you feeling cold my love?" She asked in a bit silly tone.Poor Lebo couldn't even notice he was doing all this on purpose.

"I don't know what's up with me.Maybe I'm just excited to be eating breakfast prepared by my soon to be wife." His eyes were fixed at the food, he still couldn't look at her.Out of nowhere, he pulled out his phone.He wanted to show her a pair of shoes he saw advertised on f******k.At that moment, she was also busy on her phone.As soon as she realized Lebo wanted to show her something from his phone she put hers down.

As he scrolled through his phone gallery, he accidentally selected a photo of a naked woman.Their eyes were both fixed at his phone when the photo was displayed on his phone's screen.Out of fear and confusion, he threw his phone on the floor.Luckily for him, it suffered no cracks.He mumbled something that Dinny couldn't hear.He stood up, paced up and down the room not knowing what to say to Dinny.Something came up his mind, he had to save himself from the shame.

"It came from one w******p group my love.You know men can be naughty sometimes.Its nothing you should worry about." He looked at her in a way that displayed his vulnerability at that moment.He was in need of her mercy.

To his surprise, she came closer to him and held both his hands assuring him that it was okay and how she knew he wouldn't keep such photos in his phone. Pretence at its best.As much as she knew about his infidelity,this one caught her off guard. She wasn't aware that he fantasized over such things. Deep down, her heart was once again torn into pieces. There was no way she was going to spend the rest of her life with this kind of man. She carved a silly smile as she quickly figured out how she was going to get back at him for repeatedly hurting her.

If he could tear her heart open, maybe he could see how she felt about him. How wounded her heart was because of him. As they held hands together, his cellphone beeped. He suddenly pulled away from her and rushed to check on his cellphone. It was a f******k notification. Someone had just sent him a friend request.He put his phone down and returned to holding hands with his fiance.Although he pretended everything was normal between them at the moment, things were tense.

Every tiny bit of hope that still remained for their relationship had just been ended by the photo Dinny had just seen in his gallery. She fumed from inside. This guy had made her lose confidence in herself. She had shifted from being overdosed with confidence to doubting her worth. She wondered what is was that all these other women whom Lebo cheated on her with had that she lacked. It wasn't until she realized that she wasn't the problem, he was.

The pain was unbearable. She thought of the guys she had refused to date not knowing she was being loyal to someone who didn't deserve her loyalty.Her emotions were all over the place.One minute she felt hurt by his betrayal and the next minute her heart pounded with satisfaction as she remembered what she had in store for him. She was done with pretence for now, so she politely suggested he should go home.

Lebo jumped at her suggestion.He had long wished the earth could swallow him when he accidentally displayed that nude photo on his screen. He didn't want her to find out about his ways that way. He had always thought he was untouchable. He hugged her and they said their goodbyes. Without wasting time,he marched out with the speed of lightning. Within a blink of an eye he was gone.As soon as he left, Dinny fell straight into action.

She went back to her bedroom and lay facing the ceiling.She took out her phone and created a new account. This was an account she was going to use to lure Lebo into her trap.As soon as she was done creating one using fake names, she sent Lebo a friend request.He accepted the friend request sooner than she thought. She smiled when she recieved a notification followed by a f******k message from him. She had fooled him by displaying a picture of some random girl on on her profile.

"Hi! Was'up?" The text read. She was quick to reply back. "Hello there!Thought I should share a piece of myself with a cute guy like you."

She knew for sure that he was entertained from the other side of the line.By now, he must have arrived home so he would have more time to continue chatting with her.

"Do I know you?" He asked. "I doubt. You will get to know me when the time is right. There's a price you pay to get a piece of me if you are interested." She continued. As much as she got him trapped as she planned, it still hurt her to discover his true character. He went offline as soon as he read her text. Maybe he could tell that this was a trap.
