Chapter : Hearts in the Darkness

Austin walked through the quiet hallways of the pack house. It was late at night, and most people were sleeping. His mind was full of worry about David's challenge and the rogue attack that was coming. But there was something else bothering him more than anything else.

He missed Rosemary.

For days, he had been trying to stay away from her. He thought it would be easier for both of them if he kept his distance. But it wasn't easy. It was torture.

Austin found himself walking toward Rosemary's room. He told himself he just wanted to check on her, to make sure she was safe. But deep down, he knew he needed to see her. He needed to hold her.

When he got to her door, Austin stopped. His hand was raised to knock, but he hesitated. What would he say to her? How could he explain why he had been so cold lately?

Before he could knock, the door opened.
