LANIE

I sat on the window sill like I did every day, watching the ripples in the lake as the wind picked up. I had never felt so alone in all my life. Axel had been avoiding me, I could tell. He never made eye contact and always kept his distance. He would only bring the twins by for short visits. He said was it because he didn't want to wear me out, but it felt like he just didn't trust me with my own kids.  

I heard a knock at the door, and Axel walked in with a man who looked so much like Lucy but yet different. 

"Hey, Babe," I turned my head, glancing at him and then back at the window. 

"hey," I said, my voice hoarse for all the crying and not talking to anyone but Dr. Collins. Dr. Collins was my therapist.

"Oliver has some medication that will make you feel better." Oliver must be this man he brought with him. 

"Hi Lanie," The other man stepped forward. "I am Oliver Bennet." I almost fell out of the window hear
