Aurora’s POV
“Ahh…” I gasped, turning around to see the Beta’s son, Elias. “Where are you headed, Aurora? You didn't even notice me.” He said, sounding a bit annoyed as he dragged me even further and I leaned into his arms. I wanted to push him away, repulsed by his sudden touch and his force but I couldn't or else, I would raise concerns not only from the guests but also from the Pack elders. Even Sienna had to calm herself, so she wouldn't react badly to him. “I am sorry, I was distracted…” I whispered, shaking my head to get rid of the invasive thoughts toward him. I gently loosened his grip around my arm but in the next second, he held on tighter. “Tell me, what were you thinking? Us? Our wedding?” Elias asked, his eyes shining mischievously. Oh, right, I was engaged to Elias, and our marriage, which was arranged by the Pack elders would be happening soon. And even though I tried to forget about Kieran and focus on Elias, I just couldn't. He didn't have that same grip Kieran had over me. Furthermore, Elias was too aggressive, just like now. “Aurora, are you listening to me?” He snapped and I turned my head to him, nodding at him. “Yeah…” I stuttered. “Our wedding is coming up soon and it is a thing of joy.” My tone was awkward and Elias noticed however, he chose not to dwell further on the discussion and I let out a sigh of relief. I looked all around, checking for Camilla but I could see her already engulfed in a dance with her mate. I let out a sigh, wishing I had a fated mate as well. Better still, Alpha Kieran could become my mate. And while Elias started to ramble on and on about himself, my eyes wandered off to where Kieran was. He stood out, amidst the crowd with everyone wanting to speak to him. Women swarmed around him and from the bottom of my heart, I felt jealous. Just if I could talk to him and touch him as freely as those daring women. I would at least make some progress with him… “Aurora!” Elias’ sharp voice cut into my ears again and I groaned slightly before turning to look at him. “Huh?” I answered, my brows arched in question. “I was asking if you dressed so sexily for me tonight…” His eyes trailed to my chest, with a suggestive look in them. “You look so beautiful, I feel like covering you up, so I could feast on you alone…” His words caused me and Sienna to cringe inwardly and she immediately asked me to get away from him. But I couldn't help but lash out. “Elias! Stop!” I snapped. He looked at me in shock, knowing I would never snap at him that way normally. But this time, it was different. “If you have such thoughts, you may need to use some self-control until our wedding night. Remember, we can’t have anything to do together. Got it?” I asked but I didn't even wait for him to speak before turning around to leave. I wanted to get away from him as soon as possible and I even entertained the idea of telling the elders that my soon-to-be husband repulsed me. But I couldn't. I was too powerless to go against them. Blindsided by anger, I didn't notice the person who was just a few meters away from me. Not until I heard the people around greeting and bowing at him. “Alpha!” They greeted and my gaze was drawn to him again. Once again, the world stopped around me as I felt his intense gaze on me too. We stood, with a little distance between each other. For the first time, the Alpha looked at me for longer than a minute. Was he awestruck by my beauty just like Camilla had said? Or was he– “Let’s greet the Alpha!” Elias came to my side again, taking me out of my fantasies and I groaned in displeasure. He wound his arm around my waist and I had to take a deep long breath to calm myself, so as not to throw his hand off me. He led me straight to Alpha Kieran and Elias bowed while I stood stiff. Now that I was closer to him and he still had his eyes on me, my nervousness came back like a rushing wind. I suddenly did not know what to do. But then his thick and enchanting voice gave me a direction. “Little girl, have you been well?” He asked a hint of a smile on his face which vanished in the next second, replaced by a stern gaze. I quickly snapped to my senses. “Yes, Uncle Kieran. Welcome back home.” I smiled, uneasily and then bowed slightly. My heart pounded rapidly and I silently hoped he wouldn't detect my heart racing. As I straightened my back, Elias tightened his grip on me, “Alpha, I am sure Aurora has not informed you of the upcoming union, right?” “Union?” Alpha Kieran frowned in confusion. “Yes! Aurora and I will be getting married soon. It’s good that you are back, so you can oversee our ceremony...” Elias’ voice was loud, as he continued to ramble, drawing everyone’s attention. But Kieran went quiet, he looked at me, still confused by what he heard. But aside from confusion, his brows knitted and displeasure crossed his eyes. Was he annoyed about my union? “Alpha, you should choose a date for us–” “I need to go. Have a fun night partying...” Kieran suddenly cut Elias off, turning around to leave before anything else. His change in mood was too sudden. Was he angry that he wasn't consulted about my marriage as a guardian? At the back of my mind, I hoped he didn't want Elias and me to be together because he wanted me… “Elias…” I whispered, peeling his hand off me. “I will be right back. I need to touch up my makeup!” I found a way to escape Elias while I watched Kieran walk out of the ballroom. I quickly sneaked after him, making sure no one saw me following after the Alpha. I followed his scent, comparing it to the one in my dream and as it went straight to my brain, I felt intoxicated, craving for more. Alpha Kieran’s back was like a beacon of light I couldn't let go of. I followed him into the dark night, far away from the ballroom, but suddenly he disappeared. “Huh?” I gasped, running straight in the direction he walked in. How could he just vanish? I wanted to call out to him but suddenly, I felt a large hand on my mouth, and in the next second, I was dragged into a dark corner. My chest collided with a hard one. It was Kieran, pressing my small body into his large one.Aurora’s POVThe next day, Semion woke me up from sleep, eyes speaking volumes of how much he adored me with kisses all over me. I was swimming in the clouds. But he pulled me out of bed, straight to the bathroom to get ready to leave.“Where are we going?” I groaned, rubbing my eyes. “Back to our Pack. You have to be introduced as my Luna today.”“Wait!” I gasped, my fingers digging into his arm. “You never told me about this yesterday...”“How would I present myself before them?”I was baffled, my body already quivering. This was new to me, after all, Kieran had refused to even acknowledge our relationship. And now, it felt so surreal to have Semion ready to show me off. “You don’t have to do anything...” He chuckled, holding my chin. “They know of your existence already. You can just be yourself.”I swallowed, eyes darting but I didn't speak a word. There was no reason to stress over how the meeting was going to be. I didn’t have to bother about their perception of me and there
Aurora’s POVMy feet thudded on the hard floor, pacing all around the mansion. Ever since Semion’s call, I couldn't still. I was waiting, hoping to see him hale and hearty. The horrific words Riel had said to me while he dragged me to the Pack kept haunting me. Semion was captured and used for Selene’s wicked deeds and I? My fate was death, only waiting for Selene to dig a knife into my heart. I had been chained to a wall, stripped naked and Riel would come in almost every hour to 'see'. I had begged him desperately, hoping I could at least see Semion but he refused, with his lips curling with mockery and pure lust. I felt disgusted from deep within me, and Sienna couldn't wait to tear that bastard apart. We just needed one move, one wrong move from him and we found our escape. As always, a dishonest man like him wasn’t able to resist a woman’s allure, especially when he knew touching me was forbidden. And the moment I had him in my grasp, I didn't hesitate to slash his chest,
Semion's POV Never would I have thought Riel, my comrade in arms, would lunge at my car, baring his sharp teeth at me. However, after Selene had betrayed me so ruthlessly, I didn't think anyone else was worthy of trust. But Aurora. The minute Riel's wolf landed on my car, it sent the car flying a few meters backward, the tyres screeching on the hard floor. His wolf's unbridled arrogance was glaring, however, it was a mocking sight to me. As dust rose around the car as it came to a halt, the whole place turned silent. The Pack members waited for their Alpha to emerge, with bated breath.Even though they immediately wanted to put their hands on Riel, the traitor, they wouldn't, unless I commanded it. I wanted to dig my claws into his neck, and on his last breath, he would heavily regret why he betrayed me for some minutes of pleasure.I opened the car door, the dust dissipating. As soon as my feet landed on the floor, his wolf roared to life again, jumping at me.The side of my lips r
Semion’s POVThe wedding hall turned into a disarray, as the flames burned even brighter. Everyone scrambled for safety, but I stayed still, watching the agony Selene was in. Soon, only the elders and Kieran who had long stepped out of the moon circle were left. The news of the impure Luna would have reached every nook and cranny of the Pack.“Save me…” Selene fell to her knees as she itched at her skin, making her flesh fall off faster. I stepped forward, eyes on Kieran, “Aren’t you going to do something?”“I…” He stuttered, looking up at the elders who immediately shook their heads at him. He took a step backward.“I can’t.” My brows creased, eyes dim with a fake anger, “But you vowed to protect her! Are you just going to abandon her this way?”Kieran suddenly flared up, his face now red, “What do you want me to do? Should I risk my life for your sister’s sins?”“Who knows what she has done to be so impure and rejected by the Moon Goddess!” His words bounced off the walls of alm
Semion’s POVThe wedding procession began and I walked Selene down the aisle while the Pack members bowed and some threw flowers at her feet. Every single thing about the marriage was ethereal, the elders standing in all white at the end of the aisle, waiting to perform the sacred rites. They stood, circling the moon circle, a designated spot for the couple. But Kieran’s face was swollen as he looked like he had swallowed a frog and a small smile played on my face, lips twitching, knowing what was about to happen. When we finally reached the end, I handed her over to Kieran, who glared at me slightly but when the pack members cheered, he had no choice but to put on a fake smile, as he bent down to kiss Selene’s hand. And then when he led her into the moon circle, I took my chance. They were surrounded by the elders, standing in the moon circle where vows were sealed and couldn't be broken. “Take care of my sister, will you?” I smiled. “Anything that happens to her, from now on, wi
Semion’s POV“What are you doing?” I seethed with my teeth gritting as I desperately tried to move. Lucian wasn't responding, as if he were dead asleep. My feral wolf, always quick to act now lay dormant. Selene stepped closer, her fingers digging into the wooden doll and in that moment, it was like spikes digging into me. My insides churned with pain, and I coughed up blood. The metallic liquid dripped down my chest, the scent making my stomach churn. “Selene, what have you done?” “Brother…” She stood before me. “Don’t blame me, you brought this upon yourself!”She shook the doll slightly and I fell, right on my knees and my bones almost twisted due to the force. Never have I felt this powerless and hollow inside of me. The pain of betrayal from Selene already dug a deep hole in my heart and now Riel?“What did you promise Riel? Why would he help you?” I seethed, my eyes now blood red and strained in their sockets. “Nothing much…” She shrugged. “Riel and I have a long-standin
