“WHAT DO YOU MEAN GONE?!” Jaxon barked, unable to control his anger.

Melanie was startled, taking a step back. “I mean she left. When I got home yesterday, she wasn't back and there was a note by my bed,” she said, bringing out the note from her pocket. She handed it over to Jaxon who read it and passed it to his brothers.

“I knew it. We shouldn't have come off on her like that.” He growled, standing to his feet and causing the chair to scrape on the ground loudly.

“She's run off?” Jace asked, being the last to read the note. “But why? We were polite, we told her that we would wait for her to think about it.”

“It’s the f*cking ex-husband,” Jackson growled. “She’s been so hurt by the little turd that she can’t move past it and let us love her.”

“What do we do?”

Jaxon was silent and they could tell that the wheels in his head were turning. He was thinking about what they were going to do next. Before they could fix this, they needed to find her first.
