CHAPTER 2

I can't hide my smile while walking towards the secret passage. I even picked a flower and put it on my ear. I even jump while walking slowly and feeling the fresh wind of the province of San Isidro along the beautiful flowers around me.

Yesterday was so good to be true. He told me his name and I didn't know why I feel so energetic about it although I think that he just forced himself to do it but I'm still happy!

His name suits him! Alqamar San Diego. Oh my! His name sounds so sexy! I can imagine a hot and sexy model with his half naked on! Oh my gosh! I am thinking rated spg! I should erase it!

Clean your mind Lexis! It's not appropriate for a 10 years old like you!

I took a peek in the secret passage and check if Alqamar is already there but I didn't see anyone so I entered the place looking around.

"Alqamar?" I called. I bit my lower lip after I mention his name. The way my tongue twirls for his name I can't help but to be thrilled. I don't understand myself anymore.

I looked around and slowly walk towards the tree he used to lean on. I noticed that he always rest here in this tree so I take a look in it but something caught my attention. I saw a sharp animal's claw on the tree.

Maybe Grandma was right. There's a monster in here and maybe the monster she was talking about was the wild animals that's wandering around the place.

I lifted my hands and softly touch the claw on the tree. This animal must be huge because of the size of the carved claw on the tree.

"That is the reason why you are not supposed to be here," I almost jump when someone talked behind me. I turned around and I saw Alqamar with his white shirt and faded jeans on. All the clothes that he wears always suits him.

"What animal is this?" I asked. Maybe he also know this right? He's always here. His home must be near here!

He stared at me for a long while before walking towards the tree and just like what he used to do he rested his head on the tree while sitting under it.

"It's dangerous. That's all I can say," he said and closed his eyes. The cold wind blew between us. I sat beside him and stared at his dangerously handsome face.

"Grandma told me that it was a monster. I am curious what its look like," I said and also rested my head on the tree. I hugged my doll tightly.

"Your Grandma must know something about it," he said nonchantly.

"But she never told me about it. She just said that it was a monster but I don't believe her. There's no things like that-"

"They kill people when the full moon comes," he cut me off. I stopped.

What? What did he say?

"H-Ha?" I'm confused. He glanced at me with his blank expression.

"They eat people when the full moon comes," he said it again. My eyes widened and got taken aback by what he said.

"I don't believe you-"

"It's their tradition. Whenever it's full moon they eat people alive. That's why humans used to hide themselves when it's full moon. But you can't expect them to follow the rules properly,"

I cannot speak. I was surprised. I didn't expect him to speak about it. He is just so serious that I couldn't help but to believe him.

"Then you shouldn't be here when it's full moon! It's dangerous!" I said worriedly. But my brows furrowed when he chuckled and shook his head.

"Aren't you afraid?" He asked with amusement in his eyes.

"Why would I be afraid? Are they gonna kill me?" I asked innocently. He stared at me like he wants to figured me out. He is staring at me like he was reading my thoughts. Why is he suddenly like this?

"They won't spare a kid like you," he said.

I nodded and looked away. My eyes went to my doll and played its arms.

"If that's happen I'm gonna call for help to the police! Or...I'm gonna call my parents to help me. There's always a way to escape," I said positively.

"What if...they didn't come when you call them?" He asked. I stopped playing with my doll and turned to him. I smiled widely and stared at his dark gray eyes. His eyes are always beautiful.

"Would you come when I call you then?" I asked with my wide smile.

He stopped for a while and stared at me. For a moment I saw the gentleness in his eyes. I realized that he isn't that arrogant. He isn't that dangerous. He was just like that in the first sight of him but he is gentle and soft. It is a contradictory by his dangerous yet beautiful features.

He stood up and turned his back on me. I also stood up and waited for his response.

"You have to go home now. The moon is full tonight," he said before walking away. I pouted and just turned my back to go home but I stopped when I saw someone behind the tree. I don't know if I am just hallucinating but I saw someone behind the tree!

I went there slowly and tried to search around. I just shrugged and I was about to walk away when I saw Alqamar's back! I was about to come near him when he spoke to someone.

"Why are you here?" Alqamar's dangerous voice boomed. I hide behind the tree and stared at them. My brows furrowed when I saw a girl in front of him. He is talking to someone? Who's that girl?

"You have to stop doing this Alqamar!" The girl shouted angrily. I surveyed the girl and I can saw the beauty of her. Her hair is red and her skin tone is very fair. She is tall. Maybe she's the same age as Alqamar.

"Leave," Alqamar is full of authority. Alqamar right now is scary. He is very different whenever I am talking to him than right now. Why does he seem so angry right now? What did the girl do to him?

"Alqamar, tradition is tradition! Did you forget how they killed your parents? Did you forget how you took all the responsibility in a young age? You are damn becoming blind from all the truth! Wake up! She is just a child! How dare you stop the tradition?!" The girl is very mad.

I stared at Alqamar and I saw how he clenched his jaw. He also looks angry. His veins on his arms are protruding. I suddenly feel that he is different. I felt something indifferent. He looks like...a different person from what I used to know him.

"You won't understand because she's-"

"I don't care whoever she is from your life! But it isn't right to just give up on your vengeance! Did you know that Herman is already plotting treason to take away your throne? It is because of that damn-"

My eyes widened when I saw how he strangled the woman's neck! I step backwards because of shock. My lips parted, my hands tremble...in fear.

Alqamar...

"Don't you ever curse her in front of me. Remember who you are because I am always above you Cristine," he said darkly and dangerously.

My hands become cold but the most shocking part is when the woman pulled Alqamar's face and...kissed him.

I felt something heavy on my chest. There's something...painful on my chest.

"I am doing this because I care for you, Alqamar," the girl said softly.

I didn't watch anymore. I ran like crazy to escape that scene. I felt tears on my cheeks while running. I don't know why. I don't understand. When I saw the ancestral house I stopped when I noticed that my doll isn't on my hand anymore.

Oh my god! Where is it?! Did it accidentally fell off when I ran?

I looked up from the sky. It's becoming dark since the sun is almost setting up. I took all the courage to go back in the forest to find my doll. I don't care anymore. I will just forget what I saw between the woman and Alqamar. After this I won't go back anymore. I will just stay home and help Grandma!

Going in here is a waste of time!

It's already dark when I entered the forest. The wind cold blew me. I can see the stars from the night sky and my lips parted when I saw the huge full moon from above! It's very wonderful!

I was momentarily stunned by it. Afterwards I search for my doll around the area. The faint sound of crickets can be heard around. There may be wild animals here but I don't care anymore. That toy of mine is very important to me. It was my dad's present for my 10th birthday.

While searching for my doll I suddenly stop when I heard some howling of some animals. My brows furrowed. It's maybe a dog or something? I continuously searched for it but I stop when I heard a cracking sound in my back. I looked around but apart from me I was the only person here. I continued to search but the crackle repeated again.

So I just went there to check even though I can feel the fear inside me. I was slowly walking when I heard a small growl in my back.

I immediately stop as my heart beat grow loudly. I can feel the fear and nervousness in me. I shouldn't have go back here damn it!

I slowly turned around and my eyeballs and heart almost jump out on my body when I saw a huge...dog!

It was growling...and staring bad at me! It was...very huge that I could almost die in fear!

"S-Stay...away!" I bravely shouted but when I step back it also step forward. My knees are trembling badly.

I fell off because of that. Now I am helplessly lying on the ground while a huge dog is in front of me!

Is this even a dog?! I-It...wasn't!

This creature has a thick fur. Its teeth is also sharp. It looks like...a damn...wolf?

"Stop!" I shouted and almost cried when it slowly went near me but it stop when some wolf also came in!

But the most shocking part is...a dead body of a man is in its...sharp mouth. Mercilessly eating the human's body!

My teeth trembled. I feel numb and nervous. My whole body is trembling in fear! Tears fell on my eyes.

The wolf in front of me stared at the wolf who came in with a dead human's body. I almost cried in fear when the wolf put down the body and also came near me.

"Don't come near me! Stop!" I shouted and cried.

I can't think straight. My whole body is numb as fear consuming me. If this is the monster that my Grandma was talking about I shouldn't be here! If I was known that it was all true I should have...stayed in the house!

I got hysterical when they both growled and come near me.

The only person that I can think right now is the one who was kissed by someone earlier! I don't know why!

Would he come when I called his name in this time of situation? Can he help me? But what can he do in this kind of creature?

"Stop!" I shouted in fear when they about to devour me but my eyes widened when another wolf also came in and stopped the two wolves that was about to eat me alive!

I was taken aback when they fought in front of me! They bit each other and rolled down on the ground!

Oh my god! I slowly stood up and tried to ran but I fell off immediately because of my trembling knees.

I wiped my tears and looked again at the wolves who was fighting on something. Did they fighting because I am the prize? Whoever wins he or she will be the one who'll eat me?

Oh my god! How can I escape this?!

But I stopped when I saw how the two wolves ran away when the wolf who stopped them shooed them away. My brows furrowed as I stared at the wolf in front of me.

Why do I feel familiarity in this creature? Is this wolf...trying to save me and not to eat me?

The wolf turned to me and I was stunned by its great posture. Different from the other two wolves who threatened my life this wolf's fur is indeed thick. Its thick looks soft and delectable. He also has the color of combination of white and gray.

I stared at the wolf's eyes and my brows furrowed when I saw how familiar his eyes are. They looks like...someone's eyes. Someone I...admire the most but he kissed someone else!

But he can't be this wolf right?

How could such a human be a wolf right? There's no such thing!

While staring at his dark gray eyes my eyes turned blurry and before I can even speak darkness filled my eyes as tiredness eat my whole system.

And it’s even harder when I found out that Herman and Carlos’ group is planning of an attack against Lexis. So, for the mean time I told Lexis that I’ll leave. She assured me that she loves me. She made love to me, and I know that finally, she loves me back. Finally, I claimed her and she’s officially mine now, forever.“Are you seriously going alone, Alqamar?” Cristine asked me with her raising tone while I am packing my things. I already told Lexis about it and even she wants to know my real reason she still managed to keep herself silent. And I regret that I still need to keep this a secret. Maybe I was just really afraid that she would leave me if she found out the truth.“Yes. I know I can handle them better alone,” I said co

I am sure that she’s smart and I didn’t know why she had a low score in her quiz but maybe fate is on my side that I took that chance to get her attention only to me, not with anyone but to me."I'm gonna schedule a tutorial for you so you'll understand-""No!" she cut me off when I tried to suggest that. I just want to help her or maybe I did have a secret intention, but I am serious that I want to help her. Our eyes met. I gave her a serious eye and she was just staring at me like she was in the middle of a deep thought about me. I sighed."What's wrong with that?" I asked. I really don’t get it. It’s more convenient to her."I'll just ask Ronald for it. You don't have to schedule anything," she said.My jaw clenched. I really hate how she’s gotten close
