Chapter 27: Can I Trust You?

Lucas was still waiting some response from Bryce. He didn't want to push the man too hard. He wasn't a very patient man after all.

Lucas was already taking a huge risk by threatening him that way.

It was true that he was more than capable of going to war against Bryce and his pack, but he wouldn't want to do that.

It was Selena's family after all. It was all she had.

How could he be responsible for killing lots of them? He wouldn't be able to forgive himself. How could she?

But Selena married to someone else other than himself wasn't an option either.

"Okay. I'll keep our agreement. I hope you'll do the same. A war won't help any of us." Bryce stated after a while in silence.

Lucas straightened his eyes to the man in front of him.

"Can I trust you?"

Bryce shook his head slightly before saying:

"Yes, you can. I won't go back on my word."

Lucas wasn't convinced. He could never trust someone like Bryce. But for now, that was enough for him.
