Chapter Eleven

As Katie drove home, she didn't know how she was feeling. She was worried about James' health, and she was angry that he had been keeping his involvement with Wyatt from her. Throughout their marriage, she had never once kept any secrets from him and it was difficult for her to accept that he might not be the same man that she had married. Perhaps it was true what everyone had warned her about when he started his political career; power would corrupt even the most honest of men. Katie had the utmost faith in her husband that he would be the exception to the rule. Now she wasn't so sure.
