A Week Later
I walk out of my room and downstairs to hear Olivia and Luca arguing. I walk into the kitchen minding my own business as they just argued. I heard Olivia stop what she was about to say which caused me to look at them for a moment. "Speaking of the bitch." I rolled my eyes at her and went to grab a soda out of the fridge when she stepped in my way. I looked at her bored of her games.
"Olivia, I highly suggest you try not to get on Dex's bad side today. You've almost got him to his snapping point." Luca said. She holds up her hand at him.
"How about you shut up Luca." She said with her eyes still on me. I fold my arms a bit surprised. She took a step towards me. "You think you are something special because you are here? Because you're not. I mean I was the first girl he chose. I was what he wanted. You are just his second choice. Do you really think he is going to marry you? I mean look at you. You are just easy." I let out a dry laugh. I had had enough of her bullshit this week. I take a step towards her which surprised her a bit.
"I'm easy? You claimed he was only with you for sex and he was only with you for a few weeks. Seems you must have given it up pretty easily. I must be something special to him if he chose me over you. I don't care if he marries me or not. While I am here I will respect him in his own house because I know manners. And unless you want to get your ass kicked? I highly suggest you start showing him a little more respect. Until he says otherwise, this is my house too and I would hate to have to spill blood on the nice carpets over a little jealousy."
She looked surprised and pissed at the same time. She opened her mouth to say something. "Move, you are in my way." She closed her mouth and stepped aside. I opened the fridge grabbed a can of Pepsi and opened it while closing the fridge. I looked at her and she glared at me. I roll my eyes as I go to take a drink of my Pepsi. Arms went around my waist and I looked up at Dex. He smiled at me and I gave him a small smile.
"Are you okay?" He whispered in my ear. I nod as I take a drink of my soda. His arms dropped as I went to set my can down. I look at him.
"I'm fine." He looks at Olivia, and she rolls her eyes at him and looks away.
"Go to your room." He said. She stood in her spot ignoring him. He took a step towards her and grabbed her arm, pulling her to him. He gripped her neck, and I looked at him a bit surprised. She looked into his eyes with fear. "Do not test me today. My patience is running very thin." I look at Luca as he glances at me. I look down for a minute. I looked back up at them, and he released her. She looked at him for a minute. "Don't make me tell you again."
"Sorry," She breathes before walking past him. Dex lets out a breath of air and runs his hands over his face. He walks out of the room without a word, and I hear his footsteps up the stairs. I wait over ten minutes before walking up after him. When I walked into the room, he was standing in front of the mirror in the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. He looks at me through the mirror, and I look at him for a moment before turning to my closet.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I nod and look through the closet slowly.
"Are you?" I ask quietly. He sighs.
"I am." I take a deep breath.
"You seem a little more on edge than you were yesterday. I know Olivia can stress you out, but I didn't realize how much." I said, turning to him. He turns to me with a soft smile.
"It's not Olivia that is making me on edge. I can handle her." I put my arms around myself.
"Then what is it?" He lets out a dry laugh and looks away for a moment.
"Something I am trying to deal with the best I can." He looked back at me, and I couldn't help but get a bit upset. He sighs and takes a step towards me. "I am a guy who is used to getting what I want when I want it. It's been a week since I had it, and I haven't gone this long without it." I give him a confused look before thinking hard about it.
"You mean you are horny?" I asked without trying to. He chuckles as my face goes red.
"Yes, I am." I gulp and look away from him.
"Did you want me to help you with that?" I asked nervously. His laughter fills the air once again, causing me to look back at him.
"If I wanted you to help me, I would have asked you to. I mean, I wouldn't mind your help, but I am not going to force you to do something like that if you don't want to. I am telling you because you asked. I'm not used to waiting on what I want." I clear my throat.
"When you waited on Olivia, did you sleep with other girls?" I asked. He nods.
"I did. I gave her the same choice I gave you when it came to marrying me. She chose to think she was going to be let go if we didn't get married. After the first week of me having a girl over for my needs, she decided she wanted to marry me. However, I never stopped talking to the woman due to her first answer. I am trying my best to live up to my promise to you. Although it's a bit hard to do." I look down.
"I'm sorry." He lets out a dry laugh.
"Don't be." I look back at him and close the space between us. He looks at me, confused. I placed my hand on his chest, but he grabbed my wrist. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to help." He smiles.
"A week is hardly enough time for you to fall in love with me, let alone be comfortable asking me to sleep with you." I gulp as I look into his eyes. "You don't have to feel bad. I knew what I was getting myself into." I nod.
"Okay." He lets go of my wrist and pulls me closer to him. I looked at him curiously as to what he was thinking. His eyes dropped down to my lips and I looked at him as he licked them.
"Would you be okay with me kissing you?" He asked softly. I smiled.
"Yes, I would." He wastes no time to place his lips on mine. I kiss him back softly. He hums as he pulls away.
"You are going to go out with me tonight." I look into his eyes and give him a confused look.
"Where are we going?" He traces his finger on my neck, causing me to get all heated. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
"I'm taking you out to eat." He said softly. I open my eyes and look at him. He held a smirk as he watched me. He moves his hand from my neck, and I let out a breath of air. "Get dressed into something comfortable." He took a step away from me, and I turned around real quick. I walk into my closet and close the door. I lean against it and close my eyes. I let out heavy breaths and groaned.
"What is he doing to me?" I mumbled. After I recovered from the extremely hot scene in the room, I got dressed in a black cocktail dress. It ended tightly above my knees but not so tightly I couldn't walk. It was a bit low on my chest, and it complimented my body figure. I put my hair in a messy bun and walked out of the closet.
Dex looked up from the bed, where he was on his phone. I looked at him to see he was in a button-up shirt and dress pants. His hair was still partly wet. His shirt had a few buttons at the top of it unbuttoned. He stood up and left his phone on the bed. He looked me up and down a few times. I took a step towards him and buttoned up one of the undone buttons. He looks at me with amusement. I look at the two undone buttons and smile.
"What was that?" He asked. I look at him and shrug.
"You were showing your chest too much." He hums. I look at his hair and fluff it up, causing him to chuckle, which causes me to stop. "I'm sorry," He shakes his head.
"No, please," I look at him for a minute and go back to fixing his hair. His hands went on my waist, and I jumped a bit while looking at him. "You look beautiful." I give him a small smile.
"I haven't even done my makeup yet." He just shakes his head.
"You don't need it." My smile goes brighter as I look down at his chest. A knock on the door catches my attention, and I look at it. Dex clears his throat. "It's open." Luca walks in, and his eyes fall on me, and he smiles.
"Damn, Grace, you look amazing." I give him a small smile.
"Thank you." Dex's grip on my waist tightened only lightly, and I looked at him, but he was looking at Luca. I looked back at Luca, and Dex pulled me to him more.
"What can I help you with?" He asked as he rested his chin on my shoulder. Luca smirks as he looks at Dex.
"William requested that you meet with him tomorrow. As did Grant." Dex hums.
"Set them up for the same time." I turn my head a bit, trying to figure out the reason for his madness. "I love seeing the looks on their faces when they realize they don't have any cards to play here." I look back at Luca, who chuckles.
"Yeah, well, I know William won't be too pleased with seeing Olivia here." Dex chuckles.
"I know." After going out to eat at a bar that Dex owns, we decided to go for a walk on a stoned path that was lit up. Dex had his hands in his pockets, and I looked at the ground. Now and then, I would glance at the gun he had tucked in his belt behind his back. "What are you thinking about right now?" Dex's voice said. I look at him.
"It's nothing." He looks at me with a small smile.
"Grace?" I sigh.
"Earlier? When Luca complimented me, you seemed to get angered by it. Why is that?" He smiles.
"I wasn't angered that he complimented you, Grace. I was angered by the way he looked at you. I didn't react much to it because I know he was only doing it to piss me off. Although I know he is attracted to you, I also know he is not stupid enough to act on it." I look forward.
"I don't think he is attracted to me." He snorts.
"Do you know something I don't?" I nod as I look back at him.
"I know some things, but I am not one to say if I am right. I wouldn't want to anger you when we are having such a good time." He hums and stops walking. I stop as he steps in front of me. He smiles.
"I doubt you could ever anger me." I giggle.
"Oh, I am sure I could without trying." He opens his mouth to say something when I hear the clicking of a gun. His eyes go wide as He glances over his shoulder, and I look behind him to see a gun on him. A man with a mask on held a gun at him.
"Move away from her." He ordered. Dex turns to him.
"I'm sorry, I can't do that." The guy snorts as he takes a step closer.
"It wasn't a choice. Move away from the girl." Dex stayed in his spot. I glance down at the gun tucked in his belt. I grab it out but Dex didn't make any movement as if he felt me grab it. I take a step aside from Dex and hold it up to the guy. He looks at me and chuckles. "Aren't you stupid?" His gun was still pointed at Dex. I look at it and look at the guy as if he didn't scare me.
"Drop your gun." He snorts.
"That isn't how this goes. The only way I'm dropping this gun is if you shoot me." I smile.
"As you wish." I pull the trigger, and a shot rings off. The only problem was that it wasn't a normal sound. I knew the sound all too well. This gun was filled with blanks. I look at the gun, shocked. The guy holding the other one looked shocked.
"You pulled the trigger without any hesitation?" I looked at him pissed. He lowers his gun and looks at Dex. I looked at Dex, who also looked shocked. His eyes were on me.
"You were going to kill him?" I nodded.
"He had a gun pointed at you. What was I supposed to do? Let him kill you?" I yelled. I was pissed. Why the hell was his gun filled with blankets?
"I thought that maybe you would have." I drop his gun on the ground.
"Why the hell are you carrying around a gun with blanks? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" I was angry that he wasn't trying to protect himself.
"That isn't my gun." I look at him, surprised.
"What?" He nods.
"That is one of our practice guns. My gun is in the car. I own this place, so I have men all over it." I look at the gun and back at the guy holding the other gun. I look back at him.
"This was a test?" I asked pissed. He nods. I scuff. "Wow." I grab the gun from the guy and fire it off at the water. It shot off a blank. I let out a dry laugh and shove it back into the guy's hands. I turn to Dex. "What were you trying to prove? If I can fire a gun?"
"No, actually, it was a test to see what you would do in a situation like that. I mean, Hank could have grabbed my gun before we even noticed. You shouldn't ever step out in front of me when there is a gun aimed at me." I scuff.
"Well, excuse me if I didn't want to see you dead," I said, crossing my arms. He let out a small smile.
"Which is what I don't get. If I die, you are a free woman." I shake my head.
"No, that is what you don't get. I am already a free woman. Yes, I have to marry you, but I have more freedom than I ever had with my father. I would stay with you for the rest of my life if it meant I never have to see him again." He thinks about it for a moment.
"But you didn't even think about it. You just fired the gun." I nod.
"Because I care about you. I don't want to see you die. You asked me to allow myself to love you, and I am doing that. I'm not saying I love you, but I am saying that I care enough to kill for you." He searched my eyes as if he doubted what I was saying.
"Have you killed someone before?" I sigh.
"No, I haven't." He pulls me in for a kiss. I was confused as to why he was kissing me, but that didn't stop me from kissing him back.
I pour myself a shot of Vodka and down it. I turn to him. He scans me before looking at the alcohol. "I don't need your protection. I can handle myself. You trained me to do so." He gives me a small nod while walking into the kitchen. "But having to defend yourself to someone you love or loved is different than defending yourself to a stranger." My eyes start to burn as I look away from him. I take a few deep breaths. "I'm here because I want to be. Not out of pity or regret. You are my family, and I will protect you until my last breath." A few tears slip out as I look back at him. His eyes drop to my tears before he looks back into my eyes. "I can't have you here, Kenneth." He swallows roughly. "Don't ask me to leave, Lee. I want to be here for you." I shake my head as I take a few steps toward him. "Can you please leave?" Hurt flashes in his eyes. He takes a step closer and grabs my chin. "Bailey, I'm begging you. Don't push me away." "I have to." A few more tears slide down
Walking around the huge library Dex had in his home, I admired his collection of books. I ran my fingers over the first-edition Shakespeare books. I held my breath, scared to breathe on them. "You don't have to be afraid to touch them. They're yours." I look over my shoulder at him quickly while giving him a shocked look. "Mine?" He cackles as he strolls up to me. He places his hands on my waist, sliding them down. His hands slip under my summer dress to corress my ass. I gasp as he picks me up. His lips go onto my neck roughly as he wraps one arm around me. I release a soft moan as my eyes flutter closed. "When are you going to accept everything I owe belongs to you now?" Running my hands through his hair, I tug his head up so he is looking into my eyes. Lust burning in his eyes. "I'm still learning to deal with having time to myself. Being rich isn't something I will ever get used to." He chuckles. "You are so fucking beautiful," I tug his head towards mine so I could kiss him.
Dex's P.O.VJogging up to the door with peeling white paint, I peek through the living room window to see the man of the hour. He was in pissed stained boxers and a food stained white tank-top. He looked as if he were molded into the couch. Food containers, empty chip bags, beer cans, and piles of dirty dishes surrounded him. I scrunch up my face in disgust as I look away. I walk over to the door and kick it in. He looks away from the cheap TV to me. His eyes widen as he struggles to stand. I roll my eyes while walking into the living room. "There is no point in trying to run. You and I both know you aren't capable of getting off that damn couch in time," He lets out a heavy sigh before looking away from me. "What do you want, Dex?" "It's not what I want," I say as I look at the small hallway leading to the kitchen where the back door was. Hunter and Luca walk into the living room, and he looks at Hunter. "Hello, Victor," Hunter says bitterly. Victor releases a snarky chuckle. "
PresentGrace's P.O.VI swallow roughly as I watch Ken and Dex have a stare-off as if they were trying to figure out who was going to go first into explaining their tragic past. Dex sits forward while letting out a long-awaited sigh. "You told Falco to kill Uri as an act of war against me and my family." Ken scuffs as he shakes his head. "I would never intentionally go to war with you, Dex. You were like a brother to me. I wouldn't give you any reason to doubt my intentions. But you didn't want to ask me and wait for an answer before you tried to kill me." Dex lets out a dry laugh. "You attacked me and Luca in my apartment. You threw the first punch before I could even ask you." Ken tilts his head a little while anger grows in his eyes. "I threw the first punch? You lied to me about the manhunt and ambused me in my garage. Or did you forget the fact that you were the one who killed Falco?" Dex shakes his head quickly. "I would never do that." Ken's gaze goes to the coffee table lo
18 Years Ago Dex's P.O.V"I'm trusting you to handle this, Dex," Father says sharply, as if he wanted me to fear him if I disobeyed him. I look away from the photo of him that sits on the way behind his desk in his office."I know." His eyes narrow as he takes in the tone of my voice. "If you can't, I will be forced to ask Jax to step in, and something tells me that you don't want that." I swallow roughly while looking at Jax, who smiles as he sits in Father's chair. "No need. I got this," Jax lets out a low chuckle. I look at Father. "Am I free to leave? I do have a life to live outside of your abandoned tin can." "Yes," "Great," I turn on my heels and look at Luca as he awaits by the door. I roll my eyes at the conversation I was forced to have with my sad excuse for a father. "Well, that went great," Luca mumbled as we walked down the hall to the front door. "That went just as I expected it to and no doubt was Jax's doing," He hums. "Someone seriously needs to knock him off
I walk downstairs as Hunter opens the door. Kenneth walks. He thanks him before looking up at me. He takes a deep breath before looking towards the kitchen. Grace walks out of it, looking at him with a smile. I get to the bottom step as she walks up to us. She goes to hug him, but I curl my arm around her waist, pulling her to me. She looks up at me, surprised. I look down at her. "I need you to go upstairs." She gives me a nervous look. "Why?" I tilt my head while glancing at her lips. "Because I said so." She glances at Kenneth before looking back at me. "Are you two fighting again?" I lick my lips while bringing my hand to her cheek. I place my lips on hers, and she melts to me. I pull back, and she looks up at me. "Go on." "Dex," She whispers. "Grace," She folds her arms causing her tits to pop out more. I glance at her cleavage before looking back into her eyes."You said that you wouldn't keep anything from me. Why are you trying to get me to go upstairs?" I sigh. "Fine,
